Earth was definitely not the place to be, were the thoughts steaming through an Cerberus agents head as she crouched against a wall in unoccupied room, the sounds of rifle fire piercing the air as massive explosions rocked the buildings to their core. Utter chaos reigned just outside the weak office door as screams of alien and human alike echoed through the halls, the stench of death filled the air. Oh how she hated the illusive man right now, why had he sent her and not that stupid prick Kai Leng for this mission, sure she was almost just as good as him and she was promoted from the Cerberus phantom squad even though she still clad herself in the lightweight, full black variant of phantom armour, minus the weapon in the gauntlet. She also kept her mono-molecular blade strapped across the back of her waist, but she relied more on her M-92 Mantis to deal with her opponents, the only reason she hadn't changed armour was simply due to the cloaking and barrier functions.
She was just about to move out when the door to the room she occupied burst open from a minor blast of a grenade, she had just been able to shelter her eyes in time as the room filled with debris and dust. Dropping her arm slightly she easily made out the form of three Husks in the dust cloud advancing on her, with years of experience she sprung into action, brandishing her blade and twisting in and out of the worthless beasts like some graceful dance before coming to a stop behind them as the three husks fell in a heap of large chunks of dead flesh. She stood and re-entered the room to retrieve her helm and sniper rifle. She stopped at the table that once held her helm, but now lay in splinters due to the blast, slowly she pushed aside the broken wood and retrieved her helm, catching the reflecting of her cold emerald green eyes on its smooth surface before adjusting her thick raven black hair and pulling her helm on.
She grabbed her trusty rifle and went through the hole where the door once was, checking the hallway now littered with the corpses of innocent humans and military units, the odd alien splattered across a wall. Slowly she stalked the hallways, coming to the first corner and peering around to see a Marauder ordering a Cannibal down a hallway. The agent turned her body into a position that allowed her to peer into her scope before she squeezed the trigger, the rifle recoiled with minimal sound being made due to specific upgrades. She quickly tilted her head to see the Marauder fall like a sack of shit, its head pried open and its organic and biological brains spattered over the Cannibal, quickly she discarded the empty round and slide an explosive round into the barrel, before taking aim on the advancing cannibal and squeezing the trigger calmly, the round hitting the creature square in the throat and blowing its head to chunks of meat.
The Cerberus agent had made her way down a few floors, removing reaper beasts of all kinds, while shaking her head at all the remains of humans scattered about the place, over debris, under fallen pillars and minor fires about the devastated building, but what else could she suspect as this was a Alliance building in London. She looked around for anymore possible threats before studying the building schematics she had hacked from a terminal and transferred to her Omni tool. She now headed for her target even though she would guess with all this chaos had either escaped or been killed.
She peered around a corner to find a husk minus legs crawling her way, but no other enemies, stepping out from around the corner she holstered her rifle and gripped her blade and slowly slide it from its sheath as she walked towards the pile of animated flesh before bring it down through the husk's head. At the point at which the blade pierced the floor below it's head, she was sent flying forwards, her left shoulder screaming in pain. Her blade skiding along the ground as her training kicked in an she rolled, once she had rolled enough her eyes instantly shot up to see two Marauders and a few cannibals just behind them. Survival instinct kicked in and she plucked her blade from the cold tiles before rolling to her feet and heading down the hallway, all the way ducking, weaving and rolling. She managed to get around the corner as shots from her enemies littered the wall that was in front of her and while her shoulder would be fine in a few minutes thanks to her shield, she would however be unable operate her Mantis at this point.
The footsteps were growing louder and louder as the reapers little pets approached, their mutilated feet smacking against the tiled floor. She had little options as she sprinted down the passage to the only option left, a singular door at the end of the near empty hall with only the corpse of an alliance guard crumpled in the corner. As she neared the corpse she pulled a sticky grenade from her suit and tossed it over her shoulder, hoping the blast would give her just enough time. The blast rocked the narrow hallway as she put her omni tool over the security panel and decrypted the panel, The door started to slide open as rounds started hitting the wall around her, she hoisted the dead man's body in front of her like shield just as rounds pierced the corpse while she retreated through the door before it closed shut. Once closed she dropped the mangled body before turning around to come face to face with an Asari, the same Asari that was on her omni tool, this was her target.
The agent realized she was now in a bit of a bind, there was no way out except the way she came in and now her target was right in front of her, sitting at the interrogation desk and cuffed. What to do was the question, did she kill her target and hope the walking flesh bags only blasted in once her arm was done or did she release the Asari, hand her the guards assault rifle and increase her chances of getting off her invaded home world and then kill her. She chose option two and with lightning quick speed, brought her blade down and severed the cuffs, "Well Asari, I'm Tenshi and you are gonna help me get out of here" the Cerberus agent half explained and half ordered in a sweet voice.
