Quinn Summers was a pretty normal boy, a little shy and socially awkward, but not to the point that he was a recluse. He considered himself something of a nerd, little bit of an outcast at school. He was too nerdy for consideration by the girls, but not quite shunned enough to fall in with the regular nerd crowd either. Basically, Quinn kept his head down and stayed out of most people's way. He lived in a pretty average town, living alone with his mother. Quinn was an only child and his father had long since departed for parts unknown, so long ago that Quinn didn't even remember the man. At school, Quinn kept to himself, whilst at home he spent most of his time online when not doing his homework. browsing various different sites, seeing what the internet had to offer. He'd come across more than the occasional weird website in his time and had ended up putting his details into a few weird websites, just to see what had happened. The results were usually nothing more than spam e-mail or spam physical mail really.
Today however, when Quinn returned home from school his mother was still at work as usual, not long after he had closed the door was there a loud knock. When Quinn answered, there was a deliveryman standing there, holding out a clipboard and with a large wooden crate behind him. "Sign for this" "Um...do you have the right address...?" "This is 169 Castilion Street right?" "Well yes but-" "Then it's the right address. Sign here" Quinn blinked, taking the clipboard. That was his address alright....there was no name on it though. Still....free stuff was free stuff. With a shrug Quinn signed the paper then handed it back to the deliveryman, who brought the large crate into the house, a smaller package sitting ontop of it. "Enjoy, whatever it is" The deliveryman just turned and left, scribbling something down on his clipboard. "Huh....." Quinn watched him go, then closed the door, going to grab the smaller package first and open it up. Inside was a letter and some kind of protective canister, within which was a glass vial of a semi-transparent blue liquid. "What the hell.....?" He sighed, setting down the vial and opening the letter,

"That is the weirdest letter I have ever read....." Quinn grumbled, then looked at the vial. Ensure full compatibility? What did that mean? Still... He reached for the vial, opening the top and taking a sniff. It smelled sweet. "What the hell? You only live once right?" Quinn shrugged and then up-ended the vial, swallowing the entire contents. It tasted kind of like soda...sweet and sticky, rather refreshing really. Though besides the taste he didn't feel any different. He had no idea that he had just drank a genetic enhancement formula....
"Ok, let's see what we have here then" Going to the large crate, Quinn found some holes designed for pulling off the top, then with a not inconsiderable amount of effort, managed to pull the top of the crate off. "What the hell would someone send here that needs a box this big?" With a curious expression, Quinn leaned over the edge of the crate, peering inside.
