Little Ashley Carter rushed through the subway station to catch the train home. It was the first day of her afterschool violin lesson, and it had gone a bit late. If she missed this train it would be nearly an hour before the next one. The young teen sighed at the sight of all the people crowding into the nearest car, had there been more time she would have searched for one with a bit more room but the doors were already beginning to close. "Wait!" She called out, making a mad dash toward the closing door. Slipping into the mass of bodies just as the door closed behind her, catching the back of her skirt. Her young body swayed as the train started moving, pulling the skirt free as she reached for a pole to steady herself.
Moving and somewhat stable once more, the young teen began trying her best to move through the crowd. Given the number of people on the train, she doubted that she would find a seat. After feeling several groping hands from various business men that she batted away with the case of her violin, Ashley finally settled on a spot near the middle of the train. It seemed safe with all the people around. One slender hand clutched at a pole for support amidst the press of bodies as she leaned against it, hoping that some of the people would clear out soon so she could sit down. With nearly an hour to go before switching to another train, the young girl was eager to get home and relax. If this was how every day was going to be from now on, she figured it might have been a better idea to wait for the next train.
