As his eyes opened, Joshua Reid found himself almost blinded by the incredibly bright overhead light. Naturally his response was to immediately close them again until he could bring his hand up to use as a visor. His whole body felt sluggish, to the point where even that simple action proved difficult, but eventually his sight adjusted. The surroundings that greeted him were unfamiliar, sterile white walls. The only sound was that of a low hum, seemingly generated by the faint vibration he was feeling while lying upon the similarly white mattress.

As he glanced down, he noticed even his clothes fit the theme of the hospital-like environment, but from what he could tell he wasn't hooked up to any machines and he felt no pain, so the likelihood of this being actually a hospital was slim... The young, black-haired man quickly noticed the one dark object in the area, and that was the onyx-frame of his glasses resting comfortably atop a small tray beside his bed. Putting them on sharpened his sight but they certainly didn't make the situation any clearer.

"What the hell is this...?" He finally questioned, out loud. His voice was still rather coarse from apparently being asleep for some time, but this wasn't his bed, this wasn't his room, and these weren't even the clothes he went to sleep in.

Finally, Josh dragged himself out of the bed and made an attempt to stand. After a bit of difficulty and taking some time to get used to the cold floor, he ventured out into the seemingly empty room. At first glance, it looked like there was no exit. The four walls had no noticeable indentations for a doorway. The only rational assumption to make was that he had to be dreaming...

Josh gave his arm a pinch, and even went as far to slap himself in the face a few times, however the result was the same; Some reddened skin, but no suddenly sitting awake in his bed at home... Still that didn't prove anything. If one was deep enough asleep, surely a silly little pinch wasn't going to get him out of it. The only other test was to see what sort of control over this place he had.

"Let me out of here!" He shouted, being the only thing he could think to do at the moment, and surprisingly enough, a light hiss echoed out into the room as a part of the wall slid open to open a passageway into a hall. Josh had a very unsettling feeling all of the sudden. Well, he had one since he had opened his eyes, but now it was getting worse. He didn't want to slowly step into the hall so instead he ran. "HEY! Is anyone else here!? Hello!?"
