Life was becoming increasingly hard for Melodie. She was getting older every day and college was nearing its end. Her mother wanted her to marry some obnoxious family friend and that was the last thing she wanted to do right after graduation. She had no desire to marry anyone, let alone him. But here she was, sitting at the old family cabin with a ring on her finger. She'd run the second she was forced into saying yes. The wooden swing creaked under the lightness of her body, showing just how old it was. Her dark auburn hair blew in the breeze as her green eyes watched the distant road. Hopefully her brother got her message. She knew he had to be busy, but it all couldn't wait. She'd missed her twin and he was the only one that could relieve her from such madness. Remembering all the time they used to spend out at the cozy cabin, she couldn't help but smile. There were a lot of memories here. Some sad, most happy. Then there was that one that was both. Melodie had never known such joy or sadness in her life when she and her brother embraced under the stars one night. They were eleven...young...innocent. They're father had gotten drunk and caused a scene, making the two seek safety out back. She held him and he held her and Melodie felt so safe in his arms. A peek on his cheek turned into something more. A kiss on the lips, a brush of the hair, a gentle murmur, a passionate embrace. They were kids...it seemed innocent enough. It felt incredible but when they're mother found them...well...their days at the cabin alone were over. Well, till now.
