Roxanne sighed as she headed down the hall ways. The final bell had rang and most everybody was rushing to get home. Partly because it was the Friday before a two and a half week long break from school and most of that she was spending with her best friend, no matter if her brother approved of it or not. The other reason being it was cloudy and the sky was getting dark. Which usually meant there was about to be a down pour of rain. But she knew she could expect to see her best friend waiting out in the main parking lot for her.

She pushed the door open and walked down the steps. Today she was wearing a pair of jeans and black and a black t-shirt under a black 'Poison' zip up sweatshirt. She had long, curly chocolate colored hair Her eyes were and her eyes were Green; Emerald Green. From her shoulder hung a 'Skelanimals' Kit Kat messenger bag. If she hadn't had her sweatshirt on you could see the tattoo of two wolves howling at a full moon on her right arm, one wolf representing her and the other her best friend. It was clear the two were close. On her right hand ring finger was her class ring. On her right thumb was a silver dragon ring of her best friend's that he had given her as a Christmas present the year before. Around her neck was a silver chain with nothing hanging from it and her ears were pierced with a small silver hoop in each ear. Her tongue was also pierced. In it was a silver barbell with purple balls on the end.

As she walked down the steps that lead up to the school she recognized one of the cars as her best friends' and smiled. She opened the back door, throwing her bag into the back before closing the door and opening the front door and getting in. "What are you doing here?" She asked in a joking tone, knowing he picked her up everyday after school. As she awaited an answer she pulled out her phone with a sigh. Her older brother had been texting her through out the day, telling her to come straight home after school and trying to convince her to spend her Winter break with him.

Deston rest his head back against the head rest on his seat. He had only been outside the school for a few moments, but already the boredem was killing him. He couldn't stand not doing anything, it made him antsy and very self consious about so many things. The thought of driving atound the block a few times had crossef his mind once or twice. Then he would remember that gas was getting to be four dollars a gallon, which forced him to cut back on the whole, just driving around thing. Hell it was enough to put thoughts of selling his 71 Charger into his head. And he loved that car more than life itself sometimes. He found the car in the junk yard ten years ago and had been in love ever since. He had neen spending most of his free time since then fixing the thing up, and it was almost dome now. It just needed a new paimt job so that it didn't look like it was built from parts also found in the junk yard, which it of course was.

He ran his hand through his black hair that was cut in the military style. His dark hazel eyes closed as if the darkness that them surrounded him would ease the wait for Roxanne to get done with school. He wore a light gray t-shirt with the amp energy drink insignia on it, as well as a pair of jeans. He had a matching tatoo of the wolves howling at the moon on his right arm to go along with Roxanne's that was visible, as well as a tribal wolf running from shoulder blade to shoulder blade that wasn't so visible that he had recieved before getting the one with Roxanne. And then there was the celtic symbol tatted on the bottom of his left forearm, the newest of his tatoos.

Finally as kids started pouring out of the building, Deston opened his eyes up and a smile slithered to his lips. He planned on spending most of the next two weeks with his bestfriend, and as far as he knew she had planned to do the same. Of course that was if her brother had't persuaded him otherwise. The guy could be such a cock block. When Roxanne jumped into the car his smile broadened, "Well I was planning on picking up this really cute girl I know," he turned the leys in the ignition before continueing. "And then you jumped in the car. So I don't know eaht I'm doing." He joked back as he bagan to drive off. Noticing that she was looking down at her phone he asked, "What's up?" He figured it was her brother telling her to come home as usual, but wasn't sure.

Roxanne rolled her eyes at Deston as her eyes remained looking down at her phone while he joked with his reply back to her but rather than say anything she simply played along. "Do I happen to know this girl you planned on picking up? Or is it that I her and you're certain that I won't aprove of her?" Roxy questioned, her tone stil the same playful and joking one it had been before. Whenever he did show interest in a girl Roxy always seemed to become rather possessive, like a wolf would be over it's mate; much like Deston became when a guy became interested in Roxanne or she became interested in a guy. As he began to drive offer t us and soon after noticed she was looking at her phone she shook her head as she turned th e device off and sgives it back into her pocket. "I'm sure your first guess at who it is would be right. He's telling me to come straight home, says he has something he needs to tell me but fuck him. I'll go home when I'm ready. You and I hardily spend time together as it is." Roxy said with a frown, wishing her older brother would stop trying to run her life when it came to being friends with Deston. "You know, he swears you're the reason I love tattoos and piercings. He also blames you for me not wanting to hang out with him." She said, of course her tone told that she didn't believe any of what her brother said.

Deston scoffed as she decided to play along with his jest, "You don't like any girl I hang out with so it wouldn't surprise me if you didn't approve." He smiled as thoughts of how his friend acted when he showed any interest in a girl. Sometimes it could be pretty hilarious. Other times not so much as girls he really liked slwere chased away. However he couldn't really complain. He often did the same to her, picking apart any guy that shared an interest in Roxanne. "But I think you might actually like this one. She's a lot like you really." His tone still light and playful.

He chuckled as she spoke about her older brother. The only reason he hadn't gone and beat the kid was becuase Roxanne enjoyed spending time with the guy, and Deston wasn't going to go and endanger his friendship with the girl just because her brother was annkying. But he did let jer know just how much he disliked the guy. "I don't know why you put up with the guy. You should just move in with me and tell him to screw off." He paused as they came to a stop sign, before looking over at her. "Speaking of telling him to screw off, you decided whether or not you wanna go party tonight?"

"I don't like any girl you hang out with for the simple reason most of them are sluts and don't give a damn about you and if you were to date any of them and they broke your heart, I'd severely hurt them. I know you wouldn't have it any other way, though." She said with a smile as she looked over at him. "Plus, can you really say anything, Des? You go into protective mode if you catch a guy so much as checking me out." She stated, not calling him by his full name but rather the shortened version of his name she had began to use as his nick name a number of years ago. When he went on to say that this imaginary girl he had planned to pick up was a lot like Roxanne, it caught the girl off guard. "Really now?" She all she was able to ask, finding herself speechless despite Deston's still playful tone.

As they came to a stop sign Roxanne sighed at his comments although she didn't bother to comment, having resigned herself to the fact that her older brother and Deston were enemies and would never get along, no matter how much she wanted it to happen. "Des, for one thing he's my brother and he's the only family I have and for two you wouldn't want me living with you." She said, shaking her head but she didn't bother to explain why he wouldn't want to live with her. When the subject was then changed to their plans for the night she seemed a bit hesitant, but not as reluctant as usual. "Sure, why not? I'm already pissing him off, why not spent the night out with my best friend." She said, leaning over and kissing him on the cheek like she often did. While it didn't need to be said, they both knew the fit her brother would have over her being out all night with Deston rather than at home with him.
