The sun was high in the sky this day breathing down on earth's neck with it's hot breath, the heat rose in waves and caused a slight shimmering throughout the area. One would believe the whole place was a sea of shimmering waves it could even be called beautiful if one were to be so sentimental about things like this, the grass as always covered everything it was endless they said. The figure wondered if it were truly endless could anything truly be endless he asked himself he didn't think so but who knew, the world was full of surprises maybe that's what made it exciting. A gentle breeze blew by causing the grass to shift across he could hear it as it moved making it's odd noise it was almost silent but not quite.

Though these two hunters hardly cared for the beauty of the forest they simply wanted to kill things, the taller one was near six foot three but very skinny. The smaller one was a little heavier set with jowls hanging from his neck practically, both carried hunting rifles and had a bet on who would shoot the first catch of the day. So they set out slowly with their bright orange vests to signal who was human and who was not, they moved slow and steady as they searched for the first kill of the day.

Strada gave a growl as she walked the forest floor, sniffing the air she could smell humans in her forest as it made her angry to know they were getting so close to her den. Still as she travel through the forest on all fours her tail swaying back and forth as she knew she could walk on her back legs she never cared for doing it. Still as she kept moving she felt something was off as she found she couldn't smell the humans anymore. (they masked their scent from there on I'm thinking) She moved about her nose to the ground as she tried to find their scents again it was strange to her that they would just drop off. She didn't see any markings that something picked them off yet she also couldn't find tracks. She gave a growl growing frustrated with the lack of a way to find them.

The two men had indeed used several bottles of overpriced musk and scents to hide them from the animals, though their clumsy actions seemed to send most of the little animals around them scurrying for cover. They were getting annoyed by the lack of targets when they heard a sound, the two of them froze in their tracks and began to look through the scopes upon their rifles trying to figure out exactly where the sound came from and if they could shoot it. They turned around as the sound of a stick snapped and then the heavier set male fire blindly into the bushes while yelling "I got something!", he wasn't even sure he actually had but if he had then it would be considered an amazing shot seeing as he fired blindly. The taller man looked around but saw nothing from were his companion shot, it seemed like there was nothing there after all but there had definitely been a noise back there somewhere he thought to himself as he scanned the area again. The forest was dead silent now as the birds and other small animals had fled to wherever they could to escape the loud sound of death coming from the humans.

(Figured I would allow you to choose where she is hit and how she runs off to be found lol.)

As she looked about she heard something as her ears twitched to try and find the source only as she did suddenly she heard a strange sound that pierced her ears. As she suddenly felt a piercing pain through her foreleg as she howled out in pain shooting out through her shoulder all the way down as she ran. Only she had to try and get closer to her den. Yet the pain was so blinding she ended up going the wrong way as she headed towards the waters soon her head was swarming as she slowed and swayed as she moved. Whimpering and whining she fell her right shoulder bleeding heavily as she laid on her left her head spinning about as she gave whimpers trying her best to stay awake.

The hunters moved in slowly towards the bushes thinking that if the heavier set one had indeed hit anything then the wounded animal might turn on them the second it saw them. But as they edged around the bushes there was nothing there, no animal and there seemed to be no blood on the ground "ha knew you hit nothing" the taller one said while the other threw a little stomp fit at having not hit a thing, the two of them failed to noticed the light blood trail heading towards the water and now they marched deeper into the woods.

The sound of the gunshot had rung through the entire forest and at the waters edge was a young man name Adrian Weathers who had been washing his hands off in the water when his head snapped up towards the gunshot. He had no idea hunting was actually allowed in this forest, he was going to get out as soon as possible as this was just supposed to be a little walk for him. He wore a green tank top showing off a toned but not excessively buffed body, his legs covered by a pair of blue jeans. He was turning to leave when a shape burst out of the woods, he was surprised and a little tense as he could not tell what it was. He saw it collapse and now came over to it seeing the gunshot wound, as he got a closer look he could see that this was an anthro or hybrid as some called them that had been shot he had to help her.

Starda gave a whimper as she looked up to see someone coming towards her. She gave a soft growl of warning though it was empty in truth. She had no strength to fight him no matter what she tried move only the pain was blurring her vision as she knew soon she wouldn't be able to stay awake as she whimpered to the male as she just hoped that he wouldn't hurt her anymore. As she passed out her eyes slipping close as she kept bleeding out from the wound on her foreleg.

Adrian heard her snarl but it was weak so he was hardly worried that she might try to harm him, he gave her a reassuring smile as he came closer to her. She was bleeding quite profusely and he knew he would have to stop that soon or else she wouldn't live for long, he pulled the green tank top from his toned body and ripped it into strips that could be used as bandages, soon he was kneeling beside her wrapping the bandages around her wound gently but with pressure as it had to be done. Seeing her reaction to him it was clear that she did not trust people so he would have to treat her himself instead of bringing her to the hospital as they would just lock her up for being different. He placed his arms under her and then lifted her up as smoothly as possible, he then set out to carrying her to his home which was just outside of the woods.

As she felt his hands on her she gave a whimper still as she felt the darkness take her away she was grateful in a way as he put pressure on the wound she whined as the pain took her. She was out for a while as he worked on her before picking her up. She would struggle a little before going still once more as she was still uneasy with humans being close to her. As he got her home and laid back down she started to wake up again. Her eyes started to wake slowly but as her eyes laid on his form she gave another growl still it was weak as she bared her teeth still her eyes showed her pain from her leg. "Get . . . away" she strained out.

Adrian had managed to clean the wound out as she slept and luckily the bullet had gone right through flesh instead of lodging itself into the bone or muscle. But he had to get in there and stitch up the wound or else it would just keep opening up with her every movement, with her growling at him and baring her very sharp teeth there was no way he would be able to do such a thing he knew. He held up his hands to show her that he meant no harm to her, his body covered in a black tank top now, "you are hurt" he said while pointing to the wound on her leg. "I'll" he pointed to himself "help you" he pointed to her while using his hands to try and explain that he wanted to help her, he did not try and get any closer or anything for the moment as he needed her to calm down first.

Starda watched his hands go up as he backed away, she was glad he seemed to be good at keeping away when she looked him over. She looked down to her leg her head coming up to lick her wound a little but felt the bleeding start again as she licked she realized that it really was too deep for her to heal on her own. She looked to him as he stated that he would help her as she thought on it for a little while before pulling her head back and nodding it as she allowed him to move closer to finish the job.

Adrian knew that she would have her own thoughts about him already so he would not encourage or discourage them by making a stupid move, as she licked at her wound he knew that it would open up but he did not move to stop her. He smiled at her a little as she seemed to relax just a little around him now, her nod allowed him to come closer and then he knelt down beside the bed so he could get a clear look at the wound. He then grabbed a needle and thread, he showed them to her so she wouldn't think he was going to do something bad, then came the small wet cloth which had been doused in a bit of numbing solution so that the stitches would hurt much less. Adrian knew that there would still be a sting in each stitch so he grabbed her hand gently and placed it upon his shoulder "squeeze as hard as you like" he said gently as he went to work on stitching up the wound.

As she felt him get closer to go back to work on the wound. She laid her head down as she kept her eyes on him. Seeing the needle and thread she knew this wasn't going to be fun as she had seen humans doing such things to make them better when this happened in the woods. As she felt the numbing agent start to work as he placed her hand on his shoulder she kenw then he was about to start and how it was going to hurt. As the first stitches were done she gripped on his shoulder trying her best to keep from crying out. Tears formed in her eyes as she whimpered her hand gripping hard onto his shoulder yet she kept her claws retracted as not to claw him.

Even without her claws Adrian could feel her fingertips digging into flesh, she was quite strong which did not surprise him seeing as she was a hybrid. She was also very exotic looking to him as he had never seen many hybrids before, he wondered what she might be doing out there in the woods by herself, as soon as he was done he smiled and applied a bit more of the numbing solution to the wound. He reached up and gently wiped away her tears "better" was the only word he said in a cheerful tone while smiling right at her now. He was glad to see that the wound was easily staying closed now, the stitched were the dissolving kind so he wouldn't have to remove them later, he now pointed to himself "Adrian".

Starda felt him working quickly for her still it was painful yet as he came to a finis and he actually wiped away her tears as she looked to him. She felt him move her hand down and she started to look him over now that her leg wasn't hurting as badly now her mind was clearing to look him over. "Starda" she said back to him as after she heard his name. While she didn't really speak too much she knew how to say her own name. There was no doubt she was smart as she laid there letting herself rest happy that at least the pain was drifting away.

Adrian moved his shoulder a little to soothe the soreness that had been caused by her fingers, her name was Starda which was a unique and interesting name he thought. He smiled at her again and then motioned towards his mouth as if he were eating invisible food "Hungry?" he asked while looking into her eyes, he was wondering how many words she actually knew seeing as she did not seem to speak very much. But the look in her eyes was clearly intelligence as this hybrid was not stupid, she actually probably thought he was the stupid one making handsigns like this.

As she heard him ask something this time she didn't understand the word yet as he made the motion she realized he was asking if she was hungry and connected the word. She gave a nod of her head as while she did know some of the human talk that wasn't something she heard often talk towards her. She wondered if he even knew what she would eat. After all while she could eat like humans she rarely did as she didn't like making a fire for fear it might go out of control. She knew man had ways to keep it in control and make it yet she didn't know how to so she kept away from it and ate everything raw. Her stomach could handle it either way.

Adrian could see that the word hungry seemed to confuse her but her sharp mind managed to pick up the hand gestures that he was making and she nodded to him. He smiled warmly at her as he stood from his position now "I" he pointed to himself now "make food" he said while showing some hand signs of what he hoped could be considered cooking and then eating food "I will be right there" he said in a gentle tone as he pointed to the kitchen. "You rest" he said softly while making it look like he had fallen asleep while standing up, then he smiled again before heading into the kitchen to cook her something to eat, he had to guess the best thing for now would be steaks as well it was meat though he wasn't sure how to prepare it so he decided to go with medium rare so it wasn't too cooked for her.

As she watched him try and keep up the communication between them she wondered just why he was helping her. Not that she wasn't grateful for the help it was still rather strange that he would, he was a human after all didn't they all hate her kind? Still as he walked away she could smell him pull out meat as she was happy he would be giving her any greens as she really hated having to eat that. Resting her head down on her paws she wondered just what this was going to be like. Her mind searching all the things that could happen yet some of them she didn't see as possible as he seemed to kind to do that.
