[hope this is an ok start]

Shane opened the door to room 300 and looked around. The beginners Spanish class wasn't supposed to start for fifteen minutes, but there were already four other people in the room. He felt the knot in his stomach loosen slightly and walked over to the last row of desks, taking the second seat from the front. Taking off his shoulder bag, Shane took out a pen, notebook, and the assigned text book and workbook. A glance at his watch told him that class would start in thirteen minutes. He sighed.

Going back to school at the age of 43 was not Shane's idea. After working at a technical business for the last ten years, the company had decided to send some of their employees back to school for training in more foreign languages in an effort to branch out to foreign clients. Shane was fairly fluent in French, and his success with the language made him an ideal choice in the company's plan. So with a choice between Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, and Japanese, he went with Spanish.

He raked a hand through his slightly grayed black hair and tried not to groan. Shane hadn't been to school in about twenty years, since he first graduated with a BA in business, so he was rather nervous. At least the desks were bigger than they had been when he was in school, because Shane didn't think he could've fit his large 6'5'' frame into the combination desk and chair if it had been any smaller.

A few more people entered. Shane took out his cellphone and switched it to vibrate before checking through his email messages.

Andol walked slowly down the hall with a yawn, because he was not looking forward to beginners Spanish. Though in the degree that he was seeking, he had to have to forgiven languages, and this seemed like the easiest one in his opinion. That still did not mean that he wanted to do it. He walked into the room with look that showed his sense of boredom that his face held. He stopped for a moment as he blocked the door for a few moments so that he would have a chance to pick out the perfect place to sit. It did not take him long though to pick out the most interesting thing in the room, and that was the man who was obviously older, but from what he could tell was also a student.

He moved out of the doorway for a moment, and looked at the other male for a moment. It took him a moment to deicde wethier or not he was going to sit by him, or if he was going to sit somewhere else. It really did not take him long and he walked over and sat in the seat next to Shane. His smaller and lithe body was diffently a contrast to that of the larger and obviously older male sitting next to him. He was not sure wethier or not he should talk to this new student, though doing so went against his normally anti social nature, but today he had a feeling that throwning caution to the wind was the best road to take. Plus the fact that he really had nothing else to do during the 15 mintues that he knew he still had to wait.

He lifted his feet so that he was sitting indian style in the chair, and looked over at Shane who was sitting next to him, reaching out his hand to shake that of the other male, he said "Hello my name is Andol.... What is yours?" His face was plastered with a nervous smile, as well as a slight blush that showed up well on his pale face.

Shane had three new emails since he left the house only a half hour ago, and none of them were very important. Without anything better to do, he read them any way and sighed inwardly, wondering why he always got asked questions that weren't technically part of his department. It seemed that he knew more about the company than his supervisor, maybe it was time somebody gave Shane a raise. But it was all part of the reason why he had agreed to take these language classes in the first place.

Another student entered the classroom and sat down beside him. Shane smiled as the boy, Andol, introduced himself. "Hey, I'm Shane. Good to meet you Andol."

A few other students came in, followed by the teacher who smiled at everyone as she went to the bored and wrote 'Summer Spanish 101'. She was a short Hispanic woman who looked to be around the same age as Shane. As there were still some minutes left before the class started, she began to arrange all of her materials.

Shane smirked a little at the way Andol was sitting.
