David sighed as he climbed behind the wheel of his car and turned the key. He hated days like these, He had spent the last four hours zigzaging across the city, Touring the appartment buildings he owned. Banging on door after door in an attempt to chase up the overdue rent on the properties, a complete waste of a morning, Out of the nine doors he visited only one person had answered, and even then all he got was a promise to pay him next week.
Reaching over to the passenger seat he flipped open his folder and checked on his next port of call. He frowned as he read the name and ran his fingers through his black hair, It wasn't a name he recognised. Which ment she wasn't one of his regular late payers. With a shrug of his ample shoulders he pulled away from the kerb and into traffic.
Half an hour later he pulled up outside one of his better appartment blocks. Climbing out of the car he pulled on his suit jacket, straightening his tie as he entered the building. Climbing the stairs he thanked the lord again for the time he spent in the gym, The amount of stairs he had climbed today would have crippled most other 40 year olds he knew.
Heading along the landing he located the door he wanted and paused for a moment to catch his breath before knocking loudly "It's Mr Cooper" he called through the door "I'm here about the rent" he added knocking again.
