It was night time already as Leo was returning home from his swordsman training. Just by looking at him peopple can tell that he is exhausted for a reason or another. Before setting off from the training center, he had been trying to convince the peopple there to let him stay there over the night since he was living os far away and he would have to return tomorrow anyway. They refused and forced him to return home which was about 4 hours away on foot. He took a shortcut he knew about which would shorten the way by 1 hour at best. Sounds easy, right? True, but the only problem is that the path lead through a dark forest and it was very difficult to travel upon. One was either very brave or a fool to go through there.
Either way, Leo didn't care about that. He would rather go through a dangerous way to get home rather than fall asleep midway. Once he was around halfway of the shortcut, all quieted down. Leo however was too tired to worry too much, but unknown to him, there was a pair of eyes looking at him...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am known as Leo Gredus
I have existed for 19 years.
I am proud to be a human.
I wield great abilities souch as very good handling of the sword, even though I'm still in training.
I've alwasy been good-natured, but rather shy when it comes to contact with women.
Nala watched the stupid wanderer make its way into her part of the forest. It had been a long time since something other than her pack had been in that part of the woods. She silently followed the thing through the forest, wondering what it wanted and why it was there. It fasinated her that it could stand on only two feet like a bird. The only forms she had manage to perfect were the four legged cat forms and a arctic wolf form. Currently in her arctic wolf form, she would show if she got to close in the darkness from her white coat, but hidden among the brush from afar, she was quite sure that the weary traveler wouldn't see her until she wanted him to.
A soft yawn escaped Leo's mouth as he trampled along the small path. He pressed his free hand onto his mouth as he yawned, and once done he slapped himself on the cheek to keep himself from falling asleep. The last thing he wasnted was to get eaten by something he wasn't aware of. "Once I get home, I will sleep late for sure and not hurry back... damn idiots not letting me stay there for this night..." He muttered to himself. It was true, he hated his tutor back in the swordsman school. There was really nothing good about that person, other than he was an exelent teacher. But his personality was just off the book. He bitched about everything and to everyone, unless the person was higher than him in rank. It so pissed him off, just thinking about his tutor.
Nala followed the thing for a long time, wondering where it was heading. She had been exiled from her pack only a week ago and still had a pretty nasty bite wound on her front right leg which caused her to walk with a limp. She was going on nineteen in human years, but in shifter years she was still just a pup it seemed. She was old enough to be considered a young adult, but not old enough to have been trained to hunt yet, so she was clumsy and that left her without much food for the last week. Deciding that the huge thing like the thing she was stalking should be easy to take down than a quick small rabbit, she decided that she would give it a try. Waiting until he was in a bit of an opening, Nala lunged out of the trees and hit the thing full force in the back, toppling it to the ground. The shear force of the tackle jarred her lame paw and she started a orchestra of yips and whines as she limped off of him, completely forgetting about her previous plan of eating the thing.
(( sorry but I'm way too tired to make up a post right now x_x
So I'ma post tomorrow, mk? And yes, its bed time for me now. So buh bye, Unless you would like to join me of course <3 ))
A faint sigh was heard as Leo stoped along the path. A small opening appeared, and he thought of hearing some scratching noises from above him. He simpply shrugged it off, its probably nothing more than a squirel or two having a fight or something like that... but no. Before he realized it, he was already being pushed down to the groung by.. something whining? '..the hell?' He thought as the.. thing got off him and he turned to look. It was a pretty wolf, but something was a bit off. For one, it came from above him. And two, why would a wolf attack with a wound like that in its paw? He simply stood up again and turned to face this creature. There was no chance it could push him over again, now that Leo knew about it. He just stood there and watched, not planning to attack this poor already hurt creature. What's the point of attacking those who have no intention of attacking you?
Nala whimpered as she carried her bad paw close to her body, refusing to place the sore thing on the ground. Letting out a few soft woofs, she watched the creature before her. She didn't know what would happen to her now that she failed to take down such a big hunt. Part of her wanted to try the attack again as the creature seemed to be dazed but the hurt part of her seemed to not want to. Lowering her ears to her head and staying close to the ground, she showed that she was submitting to the fight, acknowledging that she had lost and her large golden eyes watched the creature through the darkness of the forest.
Leo, as good willed as he was, only shrugged as the creature seemed to back down. the wound in its paw looked quite bad... but noting the fact that this creature first attacked him, he didn't want to fool around with it anymore. Who knows what it might have in mind if he gave it an opening for an attack. The woun'd wasn't bleeding though, so he figured it would be fine. With that, he simply turned his back on the creature and continued his way. Although, with this happening, it did give him a wakeup call to be more alert. Next time if anything like this was to happen, he would be prepared.
(( I know, its al ittle dull. I'm sorta brain dead atm xP ))
Nala couldnt actually attack the large creature now as she didnt want to because it scared her, but also because he had hurt her paw. Limping toward him, she followed close behind like an obident dog would if you let it off its leash. She barked at him every once in a while. When he failed to ignore her, she simply nipped his ass with her front teeth, not to hurt but to get some attention.
While leo still heard barking from behind him, he only looked over his shoulder and saw this wolf following him as it wanted something. He however ignored it, he had nothing to give to it anyway. Suddenly he felt something sting on his butt. He jumped a little and turned to face the wolf. Sure, it could've bitten a chunk off his ass if it was serious but it wasn't that. He let out a small sight when he crouched down, looking at the thing. "Ok, what 'd ya want? Food? I dont have any." He said plainly, still crouched down and looking into the wolfs eyes. Their heads were about on the same level now.
Nala leaned forward and licked the whole side of the creatures face when it leaned down and started to talk to her. Noticing that she must have angered it by her nips, she gently laid her head in its paws, watching it closely as she let out a loud puff of a sigh. She didnt know why, but she felt some sort of attachment to this creature and wasnt quite ready to let it get away.
All too late he realized that this wolf was acting more like a pet than a wild beast. He closed his eye on the side it was licking his cheek on, and let out a small chuckle. "H-hey stop that." He said cheerfully. 'So now I find a pet out of nowhere..? sheesh, whats with this thing.' He thought as he watched the wolf lie down. He wasn't sure why it was acting so.. tame.. with him. Another sigh escaped his mouth as he pressed his hand on the wolf's head, scratching behind the ears gently. "What am I gonna do with you.." He mumbled.
Nala was about to say something but she heard something move in the distance and it spooked her. Turning, she put her body infront of her new creatures and started to growl. Her fur raised up against her skin showing how territorial she actually could be. Her lips pulled back in a snarl before she realized who it was infront of her. Three more arctic wolves surfaced from the forest, all females and all intent on the human soldier infront of them. Nala quickly ran around the creature that she had been protecting as she realized her former clan mates. Shifting quickly, she turned into an odd type of poisonous flower that when struck by the needles caused animals to sleep. Letting out all of her needles into the creatures neck, she hoped it would be enough to knock him unconcious for her to stake claim on.
Leo immediately pulled his hand back from the wolf when it turned its head away, followed by a growl afterwards. He also stood up, it was as if it had senced something threatening. He had no intention of running as he saw his new companion seeming to protect him. If what ever the wolf had thought of was something smaller than him, he could sure take it on by himself. It was then when he saw what was most likely bothering his companion. Three more wolves, they looked alike so he figured they were from the same pack as his new companion, or at least was if we note the aggressive acting towards them. 'Old pack mates, huh? Well, this shouldn't be too tough..' Leo didn't carry a weapon with him at the time, but luckily he just had finished the hand-to-hand course with full marks. When he saw his companion run behind him as if scared, he took a ready pose, preparing for the wolves possible attack. Although, for his supprise, he felt a sting on the back of his neck. In fact, many stings. It hurt a little and he pressed his hand on the spot. Little did he know, he was about to fall unconcious in a matter of moments. He turned to look over his shoulder... "Ow, wha- uhm... whoaaa~" And fell down on his back, asleep due to the needles still on his neck.
It took almost three hours but Nala managed to pull the huge creature to the castle like ruins that she had been inhibiting as her den. Dragging him down the stairs, she moved it down and and into one of of the chambers, she managed to get him into the still intact cells. Turning she used her paws to close the door before grabbed the ring of keys in her maw and moving away from teh cell door. Laying down, she slept within sight, still holding the keys between her paws but far enough away that he couldnt reach her.
Leo slept peacefully through the whole time he was being dragged to.. where ever he was being dragged. It sure was a little bumpy ride though, since a few bruises formed on his left shoulder. When he had been dragged along to their destination, it took another hour for him to wake up. And even then, he was still being extremely sleepy, no thanks to the amount of needles that this... thing... stuck into his neck earlier. After 4 long minutes of dozing off every second, Leo managed to get himself awake enough to sit. With still dreamy eyes, he looked around the place ot get a better idea where he was in. 'A.. dark room? But hhhow I got here...? I was just back in the forest going home, then that dog showed up and stuck me.. Wait a second!! Wolf, with needles!?' He thought, although he only blamed his imagination. Theres no way possible a wolf can sting someone with something... right? With that, he let himself fall back down, thinking he was on a bed... "Ow, Son of a...!" but ended up hurting his head. Quite bad actually. He immediately sat right back up, now rubbing the back of his head that hurt like a bitch now.
He needed to get himself together and get out of here somehow but he would do that once he got his head cleared up first.
Nala woke to the creatures talking. Standing, she dropped the keys where she was laying before running up the dungeon stairs. Grabbing a long stick from outside, she shifted into a tiny dragonling and torched the hell out of the end until it made a decent torch. Shifting back to her arctic wolf form, she grabbed up the stick in her maw and headed back down to the dungeon. Lighting a pile of sticks that were in a makeshift fireplace near the cages, she dropped her stick before moving over to look at the creature. Sitting down on the other end of the gate, she let out a happy bark that it was finally awake.
(( Just to clear things out, in my RP posts, I'm still referring Nala as an 'it' because Leo doesnt know if Nala is a he or a she yet. :3 ))
Leo, in the middle of all silence, heard something make a clinging noise. Again, he simpply blamed his imagination again... what the hell was he dreaming about in the first place? Then soon, he heard some scratching noises. Was he just being paranoid, or really hearing things? No, when he saw something light up behind him, he turned to look only to see a familiar wolf. Something was not normal though. There was a fire not too far away from the wolf, and any wild animals are supposed to be afraid of fire, period. "H-hey.. were you there the whole time..?" He said with a tired voice and stood up with shaky legs, slowly walking over to the bars. He couldn't tell yet if it was the wolf or him that was the one caged up. He then crouched down infront of the wolf again. "You sure keep bringing me trouble, sheesh..." He said with a smile, half joking.
Nala let out a growl that showed she didnt like the accusation of bringing the trouble and then stopped. Moving over to the bars, she laid her face between it so he could rub her ears again because she liked that. "You cant go home." she said as she shifted her vocal cords so that she could talk his language. "You must stay here with me. The other creatures like you will warp you and train you to hunt me. We cant have that now, can we?" she said before letting out a loud bark as if in confirmation.
As the wolf infront of him started to growl, Leo figured it would be best not to get too near it for now. Then, for his amazement, the wolf talked to him. 'Whoa whoa, thats something out of the book!' He thought as he fell down on his butt from the shock of supprise. "Huh? Y-you... talk?!" He said, still being hopelessly confused. "B-but hang on, lemme get this straight..." He said and took a few deep breaths to calm himself down a bit. "So I start going home from my swordsman training very late, and then I meet this wolf who is hurt and who acts oddly friendly towards me.. Then 3 more wolves that are of the same pack, I think, show up and my new companion runs behind me, then something stings me and now I'm here..." He mumbled to himself, thinking about the situation. 'Fuck it. I give up.' He thought as it made no sence to him at all. "Okay, so if I cant go home, could you at least tell me where We Are And WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU?!" He said, raising his voice towards the end. He hated it when stuff happen to him without him understanding one bit of it. He most likely would not be this much irritared if he was brought to a cell by some robbers, but a talking wolf was just something he had never heard of.
"I am a rare species called a shapeshifters. We are dying out because we have strick rituals that allow us to stay in a pack. When these rituals are broken or disturbed we get kicked out of the pack. Your species has killed so many of us that it is hard to complete the coming of age ritual, which is the reason that I am alone." Nala said as she watched the man behind the bars. "I have decided that because your kind has taken my life to you that I shall keep you to show you how it not only kills the ones of us that you kill and eat but without some what of a pack, we cannot hunt and we starve."
Leo wasn't sure if he understood what the wolf told him at all. He picked up a few keywords however; shapeshifter, ritual, pack. He took a deep breath, followed by a long sigh. He seriously had to calm down, otherwise he would just yell out stuff that wasn't so nice to anyone for no reason whatsoever. "Um.. How about we take things a little more slowly, alright? First off, I've never even heard of what you say shapeshifters." He said more calmly. This might be alot worse than he had expected, from his point of view at least.
((Sorry for the short post... ))
