Quite Bitter Beings (Krys Snape and TheWarlock)

Xander walked around in his ship making sure everything was in tact for the journey ahead. He and a group of soldiers were going on a search for other life out in the universe, they were to travel from planet to planet until they found any signs of intelligent life on any other planet besides their own. Xander had never left the planet Zario and he was a bit nervous. After he finished checking the ship he made his way back home to say his goodbye's to his wife and kids.

Xander looked human besides the face he had gold rings around his emerald green eyes. He was a very built individual and had the intelligence of a hundred human scientists. The people from the planet Zario were very kind peaceful people, they didn't like violence but if they were challenged they would put up a fight. Xander got back onto the ship and sat down in the navigation booth and waited for the rest of his crew to arrive.

Alister was used to traveling through space he had done it very often over the years. He was not a native to Zario but had become close to the people of this planet. Though his past he keeps to himself and his home planet he does not speak of. He has provided the people of this World his ship for this mission. He was on his way to his ship to meet with Xander (his second in command aboard his ship) . While he walked to the ship along the long loading area that surrounded it he thought to himself about how he came to meet Xander. They had become close friends but still tend to argue on a regular basis. For as much as they have in common then have just as much different. Alister was originally reluctant on allowing his ship to be used on this mission and refused a number of other crew members as well he made it very clear that this mission would only be allowed upon his ship as long as he was solely in control of commanding the ship.

As he closed in on the ship the final pre flight take off checks were being performed and the engines were being primed. Though it was a cold evening on Zario you wouldn't know it from the intense heat that was surrounding Alister's ship. The ship is modest in weapons and not very large but it is faster then any ship that Zario people have ever been able to create. Alister has been working with people on the planet to help them enhance there own performance on there ships but they are still rather far behind the technology of Alister's ship.

He walked up the ramp onto the ship with fog surrounding both sides of the ramp a warn wet steam circulating the air. Alister looked around once more at the plane of Zario. While he had not told anyone he himself knew this would most likely be the last time he ever saw this planet his intentions were to never return here again. He stepped through the door and saw Xander sitting in the navigation room and walked over to see if he was ready for takeoff.

"Everything's all set and ready to go" ,Xander said, he knew Allister was in the ship even with him being quiet. One of Xander's special abilities was reading minds and detecting presences even if they were camouflaged it was as if he had his own radar system built in. Xander sighed he was still having second thoughts about leaving his family, he knew very well he was the best person to navigate this ship he had been training to fly since he was a child. "Allister I assume you have everything prepared on your end" ,Xander said as he stood up. "The trip will be quite long so we'll need to be sure we have enough rations and first aid supplies as well as fluids".

Xander prepped for lift off he pushed the necessary buttons and switched the necessary switches. He sat back down in his seat and waited for the rest of the crew to show up so they could take off and start their journey.

"Xander please stop doing that.. just talking when you feel me enter it creeps me the hell out and i've told you that countless times. I do have all the supplies ready. We are just about ready to go as soon as all the crew is on board and done with final preps."

Alister walks over and takes a seat at the main captains chair. He swivels back and forth just slightly in it. While just from looking at Alister you may see a serious hard edged Captain but inside swiveling in the chair he laughs deep inside while he spins back and forth in his chair reminding him of his childhood ever so slightly. He sets up his side trey with a drink and a bag of chips. Alister knows he has to stay wide awake for the next 24 hr's straight as the ship gets away from the home planet and into deep space. Once they get into deep space things ease up a little and he can finally rest but until then the Captain must be on high alert. Most captains share the responsibilities of the hard start of there trips with the second in commend on there ships but Alister has NEVER believed in such a practice, it is his ship and his responsibility he will be damned if anyone else takes control of her during the most critical parts of the trips.

"Xander you better get yourself a good drink and come up here and strap in. most all the crew has boarded the ship we should be taking off in the next few moments. And Xander you did get all your affairs in order with your family just in case. well you know why.."

Alister would never say why of course but he figured Xander would understand. There were great dangers in even the simplest missions into deep space for this area of space is full of problems from natural to space pirates and well Xander had one other worry in deep space but he wouldn't share that info with anyone else it was his own worry and his own business and he intended on keeping it that way.

Xander quietly got up and grabbed himself a drink and a small snack, he looked over at Allister, "I've settled everything days ago" ,he choked out. He placed a picture of his family in front of him and sighed, he hated to think of what could happen while he was away from his home planet. As the rest of the crew came aboard Xander strapped himself in and waited until everyone else had strapped in before slowly raising the ship into the air, he hovered in the air until the gate opened and with the press of a button the ship zoomed of into space and their journey began. Xander laughed inside at the captain's thoughts as he continued to swivel in his seat, he knew the captain probably better then anyone on the ship.

After a few hours Xander put the ship on auto pilot and took a sip of his drink. Certain fluids helped keep Xander energized and orange juice was one of them, Vitamin C worked like caffeine did on humans for Xander. He looked around the ship, "So where's the cook dinner should have been here by now"? Xander asked. He was getting quite hungry and could smell the food from where he was sitting. Xander was like a child when it came to eating, when he was hungry he got agitated and antsy.

Allister was feeling a bit hungry as well. "Well Xander i could go for some food as well. why don't you grab up one of the other men and have them go get this food thing moving along for us please."

Allister was feeling a bit more worn down then usual but thought nothing much of it as he swung his chair around to the desk beside him he had a lot of paper work to go through keeping track of inventory and supplies and also keeping track of there progress on the journey.

"how is our route looking so far?" Allister asked though he was sure everything was running normal and fine thus far.

Xander looked over to one of the crew members on the ship, "Why don't you go and see how the food is coming along" ,he stated. The crew member nodded then made his way out of the room to go check on things. Xander took another sip of his juice before answering Allister's question, "The route is looking perfect so far but we can never be prepared enough for space travel, from what I've heard it's very dangerous no matter what precautions you take" ,Xander stated. He sighed at the thought of how dangerous things could get he just hoped that they didn't run into any trouble on their trip.

"Good, Very good " Allister said in response to the route looking good "Why don't you come over here i want you to take a look at this." Allister said wanting to teach Xander a few things early on in the journey. The thing he was calling him over to look at was a radar screen which was used to check the surrounding area for space junk, meteors and other ships. There wasn't to much on the screen at the moment certainly no other ships which was a very good thing and the way Allister wanted things to stay. He wanted to see if Xander could get used to identifying what everything was on the screen as things were not always in the easiest to make out image in the screen.
