( I need one female writer to take the role of Melody's cousin Isabelle. The two are spending winter vacation together out in their family's old cabin and get stuck there in a snow storm where feelings begin to emerge. PM me if you'd like to join!

The cool December breeze caressed Melody's rosy cheeks as she stepped out onto the cabin's porch. The splintered wood creaked beneath her weight but she hardly noticed as her light colored eyes surveyed the land before her. Snowflakes fluttered carelessly down to join their brethren in the blanket of snow. The choruses of birds could be heard in the distance, but they were faint. She wasn't surprised though, most birds had flown south for the winter, but part of her wondered why these hadn't. Idly pondering over it, the brunette bit her lip lightly and ran the tips of her fingers over the warm surface of her coffee mug. It didn't hold an ounce of coffee but it made an excellent container for her hot cocoa. "It's a good thing when got here when we did or else we woulda been shit out of luck. Not that it's much better now...there's been word of a storm heading our way. We might be here a while," Melody could see traces of her breath as she spoke and shivered gently. It'd be getting dark soon, so there was no real point in trying to make it all the way back to town. She could have tried the car, but the way the snow was falling it was probably a no go. It was a heap of junk so it wasn't a good idea to rely on it. Smiling at the descending sun, Melody made her way back into the warmth of the cozy cabin.

With the help of her best friend and cousin, Isabelle, they had managed to get a fire going. It crinkled and cracked softly against the logs they'd purchased in town only hours ago. "I made some hot cocoa, did you grab some?" Melody glanced over at her companion and motioned into the kitchen. The whole cabin was homey, from the small nook like kitchen to the two large bedrooms. It wasn't huge, but it was a rather decent size for only two people. Melody remembered both of their families vacationing out here in summers with fondness. It'd barely fit the two families, but they were all close enough it didn't matter. Isabelle was like a sister to her, a sister she never had, so she was thrilled to be able to spend her winter break catching up with her. They'd only been apart a year due to college, but it felt like an eternity for Melody. The two of them were going to get some much needed bonding time though.

Moving over to the couch, Melody plopped down beside her friend, being careful not to spill her drink, and brushed a few strands of her hair behind her ear. There was so much to talk about but each time they spoke she didn't know where to start. Mel had been discovering a lot about herself since they'd separated and she was like a balloon waiting to burst. Not that she wasn't always like that. Melody often had a hard time containing herself in general and she couldn't exactly help it. The car ride over had enabled them to get past small talk, then they'd unpacked, left to get firewood and food supplies, and came back to start the fire, etc. Melody should have been past the awkward squirming phase and calmed down a bit, but she still shifted a bit and sipped at her sugary drink her eyes following the flick of the flames. "It's been too long since we've gotten to come out here...I really miss just...spending time without television or tumblr or cute overload, haha. What about you, Izzy?"
