Dagan slid his hand into his jeans, staring down at his awfully dirty shoes. He had just narrowly escaped the grasp of the guys who annually beat him up on his birthday. He pushed his hair to the side, catching his breath quickly so he could continue his long walk home back into the poor part of town. His eyes drifted to his pocket where he picked up the iPod he won at one of his school raffles. Sometimes he was able to download songs on it during his free period during school; he shoved his old headphones into his ear, and turned up the music. Dagan wasn't rich or perfect like the rest of the kids that attended his school; he was simply a poor smart kid. Dagan always thought about this on his walk home from school, he was a scholarship kid who is exiled by pretty much everyone.
