Is it allowed to recruit and then run an RP in a language different then English? I didn't see that mentioned in the site rules.


Please, say that it's allowed... :(
 
Since most people speak english here, it doesn't seem like that would work out very well. And the site is english based.

The answer to that is simply 'no'. And that's not to reduce the amount of members we have or anything like that. The reasons for that are because 1) The is an American based site, 2) as such, nearly everyone speaks English/American and not something else, 3) it would be hard to moderate if languages people aren't familiar with started cropping up (people could be doing/saying anything and staff would be none the wiser). So, there you have it. Pretty simple. Sorry about that, but I'm sure now you can see why. :)

The recruitment ad can be in English. All I want is that the actual RP thread is allowed to be in different language. Online translators aren't hard to use, so that's a non-issue. Note that I can't use a translator, because they aren't exact enough, they won't write the sentences for me. I assume you would rather have RPs with proper grammar, no?
This site is allowing porn and other controversial stuff, but you're afraid that someone might say something "bad" in a different language? Come on...

Gather people willing to RP. Make an ad, what else.
 
Yes, but being an American based/English based site, the language is English. It is easy to see that because there aren't direct translations that something could be taken the wrong way. It's like saying you went to a school where everyone spoke English and asked someone if you could put up something in German in order to do a business.

It's regulated in English for a reason. It's not "Porn." It's not "Controversial." It's called roleplaying. I wouldn't consider this a porn site since there aren't videos/pictures/advertisements saying, "Click here to see nude lesbians!"

I don't see the issue since you can clearly write in English.

And no, not everyone here is "American." But as I've seen in every thread, they are in English because that's where the site is located. In America. With English as the default- meaning that it's the language used, not the language sometimes used.

We do. But the server is American based and thus subject to American laws, etc etc. Therefore, the language used on this site should be that of where the server is based. End of story.

It's the default language because it is an American based site. I really shouldn't have to delve more into that.

Ok. Really? But anyway...... there are things people could try to do *ahem*loli/shota*ahem* and we'd never know because most of us wouldn't be able to read and/or understand it. Not saying you or anyone else would. Just that it COULD.

Then can I at least search for some people from my country that would like to RP with me elsewhere? Put up an ad here (in English), but play it elsewhere? It in no way endangers your site and you won't really lose members, because they're already here and if they're my countrymen, then they're probably just lurking.
 
I have dyslexia. It's not easy to write in my own language. In English it would be effectively impossible to consistently write coherent posts.

I do not ignore people. Being human, I sometimes miss things. You could always drop me a PM.

But anyway, no. This is an active forum where the members should participate in some way to help it thrive and grow. Coming here for the sake of recruiting for elsewhere just because the site has a fair amount of members is counter productive to all of that.
