Background of story:
A girl who is 17 is shy, quiet, and keeps to herself, and lives in a world full of hate, her mother and father abandoned her while she was at school one day. As a teenager she works hard to survive, and one day on her walk home from work she is attacked by a scary man with intentions to rape and kill her. But, somehow the man is thrown off her, by something invisible, the man is beaten up and chased a way by what seems to be no one. However, when a voice calls out to her she is shocked to find that a shadow is talking to her. This shadow explains to her that their is a whole world of shadows, and without shadows our world wouldn't be in balance, he continues to explain that everyone has a shadow, however everyone shadows is completely opposite of themselves. For example, if a boy was confident and cocky, their shadow would be a quiet, not confident girl. As the shadow explained this she realized that he was her shadow, and he lived as her in that alternate universe. She observed him and took notice to how he looked, his outline and some features on him could be seen, but he mostly looked like a 3d shadow. the girl thanks him for saving her and intends to be on her way home. However he didn't save her for nothing in return, and this shadow man, the very person who saved her now forces her to be his, because in his perspective she owes him.
