There was a bit of interest expressed in something from my main request thread, so I thought I'd post it here too and open up the possibilities of getting many people into one large interactive story. The idea centers around supernatural beings, demons, vampires, werewolves, etc., and the humans who know of their existence or find out during the story. While there are some terms and ideas from other systems, as well as some movies and shows, these are all tailored a bit to create original characters under an original system. For the most part though this is to be strictly a RP, not a die rolling extravaganza. I'd personally like to keep it all RP, basing it on telling a creative story over getting into logistics and such with people. The RP would be intended for forum, PM, and IM, depending on the scenario and need for privacy or secrecy with some scenes as well as personal preference, as some people prefer to RP through IM rather than wait for posts, while others would rather remain anonymous and stay with PM. On some occasions we could even have a group IM RP session if enough people want to be involved. This is intended to be a very mature RP, which is why I'm here, involving sexuality and sensuality, and some dark themes. Anyway, before I get too carried away and bore you to sleep, here's a little info about the world I imagine.

Vampires
Probably the most common of the supernatural breeds, vampires are cunning nocturnal predators trapped forever in a state of agelessness and undeath and surviving on the blood of others. Some view it as a curse, others as a gift. They tend to be loners, rarely associating with each other unless they have to outside of formal gatherings, and are extremely territorial creatures, taking offense easily to any others of their kind who wander into the area they have marked as their own. These creatures possess superhuman strength, agility, and senses, as well as the ability to mesmerize others. Vampires can go out in the sun, contrary to popular belief, but become weaker as they spend more time in it unless they feed to renew their strength. They do have reflections, but will not appear on regular film. It takes digital photography or video to get the likeness of a vampire to show up. On normal film their form is blurred beyond recognition. Stakes will paralyze them, leaving their bodies in whatever state they were in at the time they were staked, including maintaining erections and facial expressions. They are fully aware of what is happening around them when staked, but unable to move or speak, leaving them in effect defenseless. My vampires are based more on the series Moonlight than anything else. When a vampire has fed their body heat is close to normal human levels, their skin is flushed with color, and their heart beats, allowing them to pass for human. Some use alcohol to help keep their bodies warm and their blood flowing. When they haven't fed for a while their true nature begins to show. Vampires tend to take in humans, using the process known as Ghouling to create servants to guard them when they sleep as well as carry out their day to day business, as they have little interest in menial tasks themselves. These Ghouls are fed some of the vampire's blood, binding them into service and giving them some abilities similar to their masters. Should a Ghoul die while in service, they will rise as a vampire as well, making this risky and encouraging most vampires to keep only one or two at any given time.

Werewolves
Werewolves are the second most common breed, possessing a vicious primal nature and superbly honed senses as well as great strength and agility, they are the ultimate hunters. Werewolves are born as what they are, though it does take a bite from another werewolf to awaken the ability to change. They're simply born with the genes, and biting a normal human who doesn't carry the gene does nothing but give you a human with a big bite mark. Werewolves can change at will, but their power wanes and waxes with the phases of the moon, being at the peak of their power during the full moon and at their weakest during the new moon. They usually run in packs, like normal wolves, with each filling a role, such as Alpha, Beta, and Omega. There are lone wolves, though they are not common and are often looked upon with suspicion by other wolves. Wolves have a high regeneration rate, and heal most wounds within seconds of receiving them, making them very hard to kill. Silver is a wolf's worst enemy, causing damage that their regenerative abilities can't heal instantly and is the only substance other than fire and the attacks of other supernatural creatures that can permanently scar them. As a general rule, wolves do not eat human flesh, as it has a tendency to turn them into man eaters. If a wolf becomes a man eater, they are shunned by the others, usually hunted down and captured if possible to be "rehabilitated", but those who are too far gone are killed when caught up with, being beyond redemption. Werewolves have actually been known to take in humans to live among them, training them in their ways as agents for interaction with other humans as well as the other breeds of supernaturals. These humans are often even accepted as part of a pack if skilled enough to truly impress the wolves, referred to affectionately as Kinsmen, or "Hairless" for those with a sense of humor.

Demons
The rarest of the breeds, demons are fallen angels, so have the ability to appear as either angelic or demonic to humans when they reveal their true forms, but usually appear as attractive and charismatic humans since they have no corporeal form and have to take a human vessel to remain in our world. This vessel must be soulless body, such as an individual who is brain dead but still has active vitals, or even a corpse as long as the time of death is within a few minutes of the possession, as the demon cannot possess a body that has a soul still attached to it. This makes them the rarest breed in our world given the limitations of possible hosts, but by far the most powerful. These demons are similar to World of Darkness demons, but with some very notable exceptions, among those being the ability to reproduce with humans and create Nephilim. They can use either of their forms, demonic or angelic at will, though the angelic form is a representation of what they once were compared to what they are now, which is the demonic form, and can only be maintained for short periods. They can maintain their demonic forms for longer periods because it's what they truly are now, having been twisted into this over time. The exception to this rule are the ones who have been working to redeem themselves. These Fallen instead do appear as angels, but can maintain their demonic form for short periods if needed. And demons come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. No two are alike, and each possesses different abilities. Some can charm others to do their bidding, some can create and control elements, some can travel anywhere with a simple thought, and some can cause death and decay with a simple touch or even bring the dead back to life and heal the wounds of others. All possess superhuman strength and agility while in either Angelic or Demonic form. Also of note, demons are able to possess the other breeds as well as humans, though this is rare as it is much harder to do, and no known cases exist...yet. Nephilim cannot be possessed because they are already of infernal heritage, but they can be born with the wolf gene if inherited from one of the parents. Demons, while seeming powerful, have one very exploitable weakness. While in human form, which they must remain in most of the time to reserve their power, they can be killed by mortal means. If the host body is killed, the demon has the length of one breath to find a new vessel or a way to return to the Abyss, or it dies. Demons can be devoured by other demons while in this state as well, having a portion of their power added to the one who absorbs them. Demons tend to make pacts with mortals, also known as Thralling, giving them something they desire in exchange for their service or worship. These Thralls usually work as agents for the demons, handling their minor affairs, though some simply offer their devotion and provide the demon with a source to draw power from, as this devotion to their master fuels the demon's power.

Abominations
There are those who can be born with the wolf gene and be turned into vampires as well. However, if turned into a vampire before another wolf has a chance to awaken them, they can never become a wolf. But if a vampire somehow manages to subdue and turn one who is already awakened, an abomination can be created. Should a demon possess one of these creatures then that demon would become nearly unstoppable, adding its power to theirs. There is also the possibility of a Nephilim Abomination being created, but such a creature would be as rare as the possessed abomination.

Humans
Humans in general are largely unaware of the existence of supernatural creatures, though there are a few exceptions. Some humans know of them and even hunt them, honing their skills to perfection through rigorous training. There are even some who are raised specifically for the purpose of hunting down those of the supernatural breeds that overstep their bounds and draw too much attention. These people are known as Paladins, serving an order that is funded both by government and church known as The Knights-Templar to the rare few who are aware of its existence, and simply called The Order by many. The Order has existed for over a thousand years, since the Crusades, and has been dedicated to the purpose of protecting humanity from the unseen threats that lurk in the shadows. Paladins are men and women of faith, unshakable in their belief and having no fear of death, making them the most dangerous enemies of all the breeds despite their mortality. The process of choosing a Paladin is based on selecting children orphaned by the activities of the supernatural breeds, believing such things to leave these children marked by destiny. Other humans practice witchcraft and sorcery to use for protecting themselves, though there are those that abuse this as well and use these abilities for personal gain and power, and are just as dangerous as the supernaturals if not more so. The Paladins police these individuals as well, most of them being trained a bit in the use of magic as a tool for hunting and protecting themselves and others. Many humans actually serve the supernaturals as well. The descriptions for the breeds gives details of this service and can be explained in further detail if needed.

Others
While these are the primary supernatural breeds, there are others as well. Most stay to themselves and don't bother with the affairs of humans, but as with anything, there are exceptions. These breeds vary, and will not be listed here to leave players freedom to create themselves, but no godlike creatures please. Every creature has its limitations, otherwise it destroys any semblance of balance.

So these are the basics about the creatures I would want to include in such a RP. Of course ideas and suggestions are always welcome and taken into consideration. If anyone would like to participate in this just contact me here, or in PM and we can discuss it further. Thanks, and I hope we all find something we can enjoy here. ^_^
