Matthias woke up to the annoying buzz of his alarm clock he rolled out of his ruffled bed, stretching as he stood he found himself some clean clothes. Pulling on the long leather jacket he grabbed his keys from the tall dresser and left his bedroom he looked over at another door and sighed sadly. The sky outside was darkly overcast and dreary which matched his depressed mood. Climbing into his Vintage Mustang he drove to work, he worked for the Criminal Creature Hunter Agency or just Hunter Agency they had been formed after Vampires came out of the Coffin. These weren't your gay little sparkle in the sunlight Vampires these were the burst into flames wooden stake to heart kind. But they weren't the only ones to pop up, Werewolves and even things out of D&D started creeping out from what ever Convention they hid in.

With Creatures starting to appear an agency was formed to keep them under control, Field teams were made up of one Human agent and a Creature. The agency had a vast amount of knowledge on the creatures to come out of the Manual so far. Matt was a Creature his partner Tom had died two months ago and now he was due back at work, again he felt odd going to work with out Tom. Arriving at the Agencies motor pool he parked and climbed out of his car. He took the elevator, stepping out onto his floor he waved to some of his other friends as he walked down a row of desks. He passed them all not stopping to chat only waving now and then till he reached the chiefs office.

"Morning Chief." he said as he entered he caught the smell of light perfume and knew there was someone else in the room.

The chief stood, "C'mon in Matt feeling any better?" he asked. Matt shrugged as he leaned against the back wall of the office across from chief's desk.

Eve stared at herself through a mirror in the Womens bathroom. She had her long brown hair tucked back in a tight bun. Her eyes followed from a stray hair at her ear, to look at her eyes. They were strong, confident eyes but a hint of uncertainty. She allowed her eyes to follow down her straight nose bridge, down to her full lips that rested in a slight frown. All in all, she thought she was pretty enough but she looked a little.... Unhappy.

She laughed at herself, before tucking the stray hair back behind her ear. She was too thrilled about her new position move, but she was willing enough to change. She stepped back from the mirror looking herself over. She brushed out her shirt and then straightened her skirt a bit. She was short. Only standing 5'2'' but her heels had her at an even 5'4''. She nodded towards herself, before heading to the Chiefs office.

"Good Morning, Sir," she smiled, sticking her hand out to shake his own.

"Eve," he said in a nod, as he motioned for her to sit down. "There is something you need to understand about Agent Gamble, he is a-" the Chief didn't get a chance to finish as her new partner walked in.

Eve looked over the man, batting her eyelashes a little. She felt as if the chair sitting infront of the Chief's desk swallowed her whole, making him unaware of her. She then stood up quickly, following the Chiefs actions of standing. She smiled a little, maybe even sheepishly, as she looked over towards him, nodding her head a moment.

Matt spotted the woman confirming his knowledge of another in the office, nodded in return before looking back at the Chief. "I'm good sir still down but climbing." he said replying to the chiefs question. He stepped forward and took a seat, "If I may ask who's the girl?" he asked curiously. He was unaware of what the chief had planned.

"Eve is your new partner." the Chief answered, "I know how you feel but you know the rules and she was the only available agent." he said quickly as Matt leaped up about speak.

Matt growled in frustration he didn't want a partner not that he had any doubts on Eve's skill or ability but his own to protect her which was the duty of the Creature partner. He sighed, "understood sir." he said sitting down.

Eve felt the hairs on the back of her neck raise as the tension in the air went from palpable to being a thick smog. She looked to her partner, looking him over. From his instant reaction of distain for the news he had just recieved, she had a clue on what he may be.

She sunk in her chair a little and sighed softly. She hardly looked the part of a field agent. She didn't even understand why she was picked to go out with him. She was a good enough shot, but she was never good in field training. After what she heard Matt went though, it was the last thing he deserved.

"Nice to meet you Agent Gamble. I am Agent Grea," she said sticking her head out to shake his own.

Matt took Eves hand gently and shook it, "Pleasure Agent Grea." he said with a friendly smile.

The chief nodded and pulled out a file, "I'm giving you an easy case today to get Agent Grea's feet wet and to ease you back into things." he said looking at the two of them. "What we have is a standard Vampire attack the victim is just some street corner worker. Take him down or bring him in." the Chief said nodding to the two of them in a dismissing manner handing Eve the File on the case.

Matt stood and before he reached the door the chief called him, "Matt don't go chasing phantoms." he said in a warning voice. Matt waved understanding and walked out of the office, he looked back at Eve before turning back and shrugging. "How long have you worked at the H.A?" he asked her.

"A year, roughly, but always behind a desk, so...." she shrugged a little as she followed after him, looking through the file. "Hmm, this is interesting, the victim was totally drained dry," she said as she handed the folder over towards her knew partner.

She smiled kindly over towards Matt as she started to look him over. "So, is it safe to assume that you're a werewolf?" she asked curiously before starting to look around at the barron walls. She didn't know what she should say or do.

Matt took the file and read over it, "That is odd Vampires don't commonly kill their meal in fact Vampire's don't need to attack humans for blood since they can purchase it from a blood bank." he said as he lead her toward the elevators. "Yes I'm a Werewolf." he said smiling, "We can look over the crime scene and see if the Forensics missed anything." he said as he pressed the call button, "First I have to pick up the 'Saint' and some spare ammunition." he added once the Elevator arrived. Climbing into it he waited for Eve to Join him before pressing the Floor button, the elevator began to drop taking them down even past the motor pool. When it stopped it opened up to a dimly lit room full of racks of weapons swords, axes, guns that seem to date back to the discovery of gun powder. There was even a canon that looked like a dragon, in front of it all was a gate with a window in front of a desk with a little call bell.

Matt walked up to the desk and rang the bell there was a flash and a puff of smoke and an Imp appeared, "Hey Matt." it said in a squeaky gravely voice. Its skin was red and it had little horns sticking out of its head, the suit it wore strained against its large gut. "Looking for the 'Saint'?" it asked him.

"Yeah and some extra ammo for me and my partner." Matt answered introducing Eve.

"Mmm, she's pretty." the imp said as it climbed the bar and looked at her a lusty gleam in its coal black eyes.

"Heel boy." Matt said tapping the bars the dropped down catching himself with his little wings that fluttered like a humming birds to keep him aloft.

"I'm going." it said winking at Eve before vanishing in another puff of smoke.

"Imps" Matt sighed, "Well Eve you've been here a year you must know about the Different types of Ammo we use?" he asked as he waited for the Imp.

Eve winked at the Imp as he started to flirt with her, before playfully tapping on his nose. The Imp flew off at the words of Matt to find what he had been looking for.

She grinned as she looked over towards Matt, cocking her head to the side as she looked him over. She realized then how handsome he seemed, but she shrugged it off. After all, they were partners. None of that could be going on. It sould be considered scandalous.

"Oh, well, you know.. .To be honest, I am not that great with naming guns or the ammo that go with it. I know how to point and shoot though," she laughed, before the Imp returned with what they asked for.

He flitted on his wings, looking over Eve more, his tongue starting to stick out. She then cocked her eyebrows up as she looked him over. She put her hands on her hips and she shook her head. She could take some oogling, but now he was just getting to be gross.

When the Imp returned and got done flirting with Eve he deposited what he had on the desk with the window, "Here she is the 'Saint.' " he said handing Matt a holster.

Matt picked up the Holster and drew out the gun it was a modified Desert Eagle. The grip was polished pearl and down the barrel were words written in gold metal that stood out against the black that covered the rest of the gun. "I'll give you quick run down, this is the 'Saint' Tom used the 'Sinner' guns are named to there owners preference. She is a modified .357 Desert Eagle with an extended barrel, the ammo comes in three styles, UV, Silver, and 'The Works'." he said turning the gun around so that Eve could take it and examine it before holding three of the extra clips. They were named for the what the bullet was, the UV rounds glowed, the Silver bullets were just silver though they had cross' etched into their cases the Works looked like glass tipped bullets filled with water and what looked like snow flakes from a snow globe. "The works' are less lethal than these others but will stop just about anything in its track." he said, "What do you think?" he asked her.

Eve looked over the whole gun, smiling more when the ammo came out. "Is there just a standard .45 that comes with these rounds? Personally, Im not up for gody. I want something black and simple. Something I can aim and shoot," she said as she stood to the side. "I can shoot a gun well," she sai with a grin, before shrugging a little. "By the way, when exactly are we gonna go out and look at the body?" she asked curiously.

Matt took his gun back and slapped a UV clip into it, "We'll be going now there is a .45 in the trunk with the clips you'll need. Its our Field Arsenal." he said as he chambered a round and clicked on the safety and slipped it into the holster. "See you tiny." he said to the Imp after collecting the rest of the Ammo, the Imp waited for his back to turn before flipping him off. The Elevator ride to the motor pool was quiet, "I'll pop the trunk so I can grab your gun." he said as he approached the Vintage Mustang. He popped the trunk and raised it inside were a few cases and what looked like the twin to Matt's weapon except it was mangled, he looked down at what had been a silver Desert Eagle for a time before opening one of the cases and pulling out a .45. "Standard Issue it was mine when I first joined but I special ordered." he said handing it to her with the UV clip for it.

He closed the trunk and walked around to get into the drivers seat he waited for Eve as he contemplated the case.

"What is so special about it?" she asked as she slipped the clip into her gun. She looked it over, her index finger running along the body of the gun. When she was done inspecting it, she found nothing particularly special about it. The handle was a bit worn, but other than that it was quite plain on the outside. The inside must have been modified. She then loaded her gun, before turning on the safty and putting it into her own holster for the gun. She waited for his answer before climbing into the car. She pulled the seat forward, so that she was closer to the dash board and then readjusted her seat so that she was sitting a bit more straight.

Matt started the car, "Nothing special about yours I special ordered the Saint." he clarified as he pulled out of the parking space and out to the main street. They rode in silence which made him uncomfortable he and Tom would talk about the case or about family matters. "This case is odd in a way, while vampires do continue to feed on humans it's more of short drink not draining them dry." he said breaking the silence. "Tom would know something his sister kept him informed." he went on, "Dealing with Vampires isn't like those angst filled pretty boy vampires from Twilight." he said making a revolted face, "Vampires are more traditional like in the old movies except no turning into mist or a bat. They burn in sunlight which is why we have the UV bullets." he paused allowing her to ask any questions.

"Oh, well, I see what you meant. Good thing. Im alright with plain, for now that is," she said as she relaxed into the car. Then she felt her first real ping of irritation with him. Just because she was a girl, or a new field agent didn't make her a new agent, or a clueless one at that. She turned her head looking at him with almost disgust. "Let me clarify one thing with you," she said as she watched his body language. "I am a Hunter Agency AGENT. I am not clueless. I am not dumb. I KNOW what I am dealing with. Maybe not to deal with them, the way that you do, or otherwise. So PLEASE do NOT mistake me for some useless bag that you've been assigned with thats obsessed with fucking Twilight. I mean really, who the fuck are you to even know what Twilight is. I don't care if you meant anything, or even nothing, by what you said. I am not an mindless idiot. SO don't fucking speak to me like that. Ever again."

She felt a little relief come off her chest now. She had been feeling all stupid about the past thirty minutes. But she was in no means a hinderance to him. If anything, it was the other way around. After all, he was still hung up on his partners death. She had no emotional baggage, only less experience.

"You were sitting behind a damn desk! Tom and I were the ones risking our asses to prevent a Damn war you think everything is calm and peaceful? Its not Vampires will chew you up and spit you out I'm placing my life in your hands if you ain't up to it then I might as well bite a Silver." he retorted angrily a deep growl emanating from his throat. "We are both in this I have my issues and I won't apologize for trying to teach you a few things. Vampires have little respect for humans the few that like humans are the minority and not a popular one." he went on a bit calmer. "I'd rather not lose another friend." he muttered as he turned onto the street where the a group of police cars and an ambulance was loading up the Victim. He parked across the street and got out, approaching the police while pulling out his badge.

Eve had more to say but thought better of it as they turned onto the next street. "Fucking werewolves," she said, as he stopped the car and she got out, slamming the door. She then walked off to find the body, which wasn't hard to do. She only followed the group of people leading to and from the scene. She knew that he would be right behind her, but she was quite done with him for the time being, especially after that growl. She wasn't a dim wit. She knew all the 'statistics' he was telling her. As she said, she was trained. After all, if she was completely useless and only capable to be behind a desk, she would not be there at all.

Matt followed a few feet behind her as he made his way to the crime scene, following her into the apartment he was hit by two things the smell of pot and of decomposing corpse. "That's a smell that could gag a rat." he said making a disgusted face, "They were smoking pot together so she knew her killer." he said as he his nose settled and he picked up other smells vinegar which got stronger the closer he got to the bathroom. Turning away he moved toward the kitchen the trash can was full of wine coolers, "She was hammered and High must have passed out which is when he did the deed." he said, "But she doesn't smell like vinegar so why does the bathroom reek of...ah shit." he groaned.

"It wasn't a vampire it was a Penanggalan." he said as he stood pulling out his cell phone, "Yeah its me listen wake the D&D Boys tell them we got something." he said after dialing the agency and getting picked up by Lucy the Front Desk lady. "Why would one be here?" he asked himself as he looked around at Eve, "Find anything else?" he asked her.

"You assume way too much," she said as she watched Matt make his assessments. She rolled her eyes and just went on to look at what was around. She couldn't make any definitive assessments on what had happened. She just looked around, finding nothing special about what was around.

When he made the discovery, she turned her head to look at him with a sigh. "Well, if it is indeed a Penanggalan, then there isn't going to be much evidence to find," she said as she looked over the girl. She then turned around, ready to leave the room. She hadn't any use for staying there much longer if she couldn't find anything. She might as well look around, maybe find the building owner, see if they had any survalliance, even if she knew it was less likely than to find a penguin in the north pole. The area was much too run down.

"Its a long shot but ask for Surveillance if we can get a look at it then we can narrow down the search." he said nodding to her comment. Penangglan were rare few survived to the modern day if one was here it made things a lot harder, "We're not geared for this." he muttered as he followed her from the room just as his phone rang.

"Yeah? Ziggy was the only one you could reach? No its okay I'll swing by the Club once we're done here." he said, "Feel up for a Vampire Club?" he asked her as he caught up to her.

"If the job calls for it, yes," she said, strictly keeping with short answers with him. He may have been quick to forget their words, but she wasn't. She was quite rritable with him still. She talked with the buildings manager and wasn't surprised by the answer. She didn't even bother turning to tell him what she was told. He was quite within ear shot of all that had been discussed. She bee lined her way towards his car, before getting in.

She sighed as she stared at her phone. She waited for him to join her, before looking out the window. She knew that they would comb through the club looking for an informat.

Matt got into his car and sat there for a few minutes, "I'm sorry for growling at you. Its harder to control when there is a full moon coming." he said as he started the car. He drove them toward the club trying to puzzle out all the information he had in his head on the suspect before shrugging the informant would know more. The drive passed and he pulled up to the club it was more of a ware house but then Vampires were still more secluded in some places. "Welcome to Club Dark." he said as he got out waiting for her.

"Meh," she commented as she shrugged her shoulder at him, starting to continue to look out the window at the passing scene. He thought her much too naive. She couldn't explain to much thoroughly how she was trained in all of this. She shook her head as she turned her head towards him, just sighing. "Thank you captain obvious," She said climbing out of the car and joining him to start into the club.

He lead her around to the side of the building where there was what looked like a pair of cellar doors opening the door he walked down the short flight of stairs into a hall way. He could hear the bass of the music it stirred the beast inside him but he ignored it, walking on he came to the other end this door was guarded by two large human. Matt flashed his badge and they opened the door that is when the music really got loud. Matt entered into the club the flashing lights and pulsing music made it hard to see but the smell of vampires, blood and human sweat were ever present. He waited for Eve to catch up to him before moving around the dance floor heading for the bar.
