Matt groaned as he put the large box down, watching the tiny specks of dust fly off in all directions as it hit the floor. Letting out an exhausted wheeze, he wiped the sweat off his brow and looked back over his shoulder at the pile supon piles of boxes he had still had to move out of the way so he could get around to cleaning this damned attic. He really wished he knew someone that he could have asked to give him a hand, but having moved rather far away, there was none to do anything like that. Running a hand through his semi-long blonde hair, the short young man pushed his unframed glasses back up his nosebone and cracked his knuckles as he grabbed the next large box and began dragging it over the floor when he realized it was too big to carry. It seemed it would not budge whatsoever, but finally he managed to drag it backwards with a groan, letting it slide just a bit over the floor... only for a loud THUD to be heard behind it.
"Oh shit," he muttered and let go of the large box, now afraid that something had fallen off and broken, giving him even more stuff to clean up. It took some pushing and shoving to get the box away from the wall and leave him room to inspect what had fallen down, but finally he saw it lying there on the dusty floor, barely lit up by a ray of light from the window. It was a book. Thick, yellowish crumbled pages and seemingly wrapped in a sort of leathery hide. Arching an eyebrow he reached in to pick up the large book, inspecting it in his hands and browsing through the many pages. There were a lot of pictures and words he did not understand. The pictures were.. peculiar, to say the least. THey mostly seemed to portray women, though they had mysterious appendages and did not always appear entirely human. Looking around to find some sort of title of the thing, he found one on the back of the book. "O'mahna," he muttered, not thinking the title told him anything more...
And shortly after the word was spoken, the book began to shake violently in his hands. Trying desperately to hold on to it, he cried out as it flew out of his hands and floated in midair, opening itself to him and showing its now blank pages begin to shine...
