Riece Bristone's ear twitched over his motercycle helmet, picking something up over the roar of his engine. It sounded like... a struggle? He pulled up under a street lamp and killed the engine, listening closer. It was coming from a nearby alleyway. He heard a young girl cry out, and a man "whisper" "Quiet!" He heard the presumed assailant strike her and flew into a rage, quckly removing his helmet and jumping off his bike to rush down the dusk-lit alleyway.

There, three men had surrounded a young girl. He couldn't see her very well, since the men where in the way and pawing at her small body, but he could see her assailants just fine. The two that were holding her arms and pawing her chest and thighs were big, probably bears of some sort. The third was harder to see, but he was a doberman... and it really looked like he was unzipping his pants. That never a good sign in these circumstances.

Riece focused for a moment, whispering a short activation spell as he pulled a gun and tossed what looked like a marble into the air. A bright light appeared over the three, stunning and blinding them. All three had to cover their eyes, forcing the bears to release the girl, dropping her to the ground. "Freeze, in the name of the law!" All three cursed and scrambled to escape when they saw the wolf pointing a gun at them, his ears laid back and his teeth bared.

He contemplated firing a shot at their backs, but they were gone well before he could get any kind of a bead on them. Instead, he sighed and holstered his gun and approached the girl slowly. He entered the bubble of light with a friendly look on his face, trying to lessen the severe appearance his long, wolf-like face gave him. His fur was lgiht grey and getting lighter, showing his age even if most of it was hidden under a black leather biking jacket and thick jeans. His hands looked similar to paws, being tipped with claws and padded on the palm and up the fingers.

His legs looked a little strange, though it was quickly apparent why: he walked digitigrade, or on the balls of his feet instead of his heels. From his "Ankle" to his paw was covered by what looked like a lether brace. The fact that he wore these instead of shoes made some sense, once one realized how difficult and uncomfortable shoes would be for him. He offered the girl a hand and a smile as he looked her over. "Sorry I couldn't come sooner, little miss... Are you alright?"

Looks something like this:

Arianna was walking back home from the drugstore. She was running a few errands that had been forgotten earlier when she was in town, so now she had to finish them. She had to buy milk, cheese, and bread. While walking back home, she was humming a soft tune to herself, dressed in a dark red silk dress that stopped above her knees, black flats along with it. Her hair was let down in small ringlets around her fragile, delicate face. At fourteen years old, she had already grown into her womanly curves, and she appeared older then she looked. Tonight, she was in her human form, rather then fairy. She preferred it best, in all honesty. Arianna decided to take a shortcut back to her apartment, and it did involve going through the ally. She hated allies, but, taking a deep breath in, she turned the corner, and then was attacked from behind. The bag of groceries dropped, and the jar of milk shattered. She fell to her knees, scraping them up on the concrete. A large figure kicked her side and pulled her up to her feet and she coughed from the impact.

She looked up and was staring at three large creatures, she couldn't quite recall the name. Arianna knew, though, that they weren't exactly friendly. She tried to wiggle away from its grasp, but the biggest had grabbed her by the throat with his furry hand and threw her on the ground. The impact knocked the breath out of her, but she gathered the strength to get up and run, but they were much faster and stopped her. They had clawed at her dress, ripping most of it. She now mostly remained in her white underwear, boy boxers, and dark red bra, lifting her breasts up and making them look fuller. "Help!" Arianna screamed, but it just earned her another lash from the beasts.

Two of the beasts had held her down, pinning each arm down, and the other was removing his pants, getting ready to slice up her underwear and do what his original plan was, but her never got the chance. With her mouth covered, Arianna couldn't call for help anymore or scream, but she heard a motorcycle coming to a stop very close, then a stern and deep voice. Then shots, but all missed as the beasts scampered away. When finally she was finally not held down, Arianna looked around. Her arms were bloody, along with a mark on her face and stomach, and her legs. Her dress lay in tattered rags around her, her hair disheveled.

She heard a friendly voice approach her, and turned her head to its direction. It was a wolf, her grandmother told her of them. They were real friendly until you made them mad. Arianna couldn't respond, or move for that matter, she felt too weak. Her head fell to one side as she blacked out.

Riece caught her by the shoulder as she started to fall unconscious, propping her up. As he unzipped and pulled off his leather jacket, he grabbed her wrist and checked her vitals. Finding them more or less normal, he wrapped his jacket around her, protecting her from the cool breeze that blew through the alleyway as a car drove by. He carefully picked up the sleeping girl, trying to decide the best course of action.

Since she'd not even given him a name before passing out, he wouldn't be able to find out where she lived and take her home until she awoke. In addition, the nearest hospital was well across the city from where they were presently, and he wasn't entirely sure he could handle an unconscious form on his bike well enough to get her there safely. Tired and irritated that such a thing had happened in his neighborhood, he decided to take her to his own apartment, located in a rather tall building half a block away.

He set her atop his bike with a little grunt, carefully balancing both the machine and the fairy girl, and started walking down the empty sidewalk. After crossing a street and coming to the large revolving door, he settled his bike into it's customary parking space and picked the girl up once more, taking a number of precautions to make sure the jacket didn't slip and the girl rested more or less undisturbed.

He tapped the handicap button at the door, waiting for the ridiculously ornate things to open so he could sidle through, his charge in hand. He simply nodded to the woman at the front desk, whom had looked very bored until she saw him. After, she was flabberghasted, and would likely require some sort of explanation later... be it once he got to his room, or when he left once more. He tried to ignore that annoying fact for the moment, instead carrying the young woman over to the elevators. The doors here were just as ornate as the front ones, and, with a little trouble, opened with another button press.

Riece stepped inside and said quietly, "Top floor." The doors slid closed with a chime, confirming the command, and the elevator started moving smoothly. He took a moment to examine the girls face. He noted it's delicate features and half smiled. "I have to admit," He said, shaking his head. "You fae are quite cute, even to an old wolf like me..."

Another chime signaled they had reached the top floor, prompting the door to open. He stepped out and turned left towards his suite... The door to which was a bit moor difficult to navigate. He shifted the girl in his arms slightly so he could open the door to the large, modestly furnished living room, then moved to set her gently on the couch. Again, he checked her pulse, then moved some old books and Chinese food boxes from the coffee table so he could sit there and wait patiently for her to awake.

He half wished he cleaned more often, casting an eye about his somewhat messy living quarters in slight dismay. Here and there were piles of books and magazines he'd read. The doors to his large entertainment center were open, revealing a number of disheveled movie and game boxes to the world. The door to his bedroom was open, revealing a more expansive mess of clothes, though the kitchen, bathroom, and study doors remained closed.

Arianna couldn't get herself to move, or respond to anything, but she did feel a figure pick her up from the ground, he seemed very warm, and gentle. Before he picked her up, she sensed him taking her vitals, of course she wasn't dead. But she did wish she hadn't blacked out, because it would mean she didn't have complete control over her form, therefore, she'd transform back into her Fae. Not like it was much different, anyway. She just shrunk and grew wings, and her hair color lightened up some. Personally, she didn't like other people, with the exception of family and close friends, witness her in Fae form. She wasn't ashamed, just preferred it that way.

Arianna felt a change in temperature, it was a lot warmer wherever the mysterious stranger had brought her. She heard him say something, but she couldn't quite make out what it was, then only moments later, he had laid her down on what felt like a table. Slowly, Arianna returned to Fae form, her transparent wings growing out from her back, the tone of her hair quickly changing, and her height decreasing until she was around four feet tall. Arianna finally started to come around, but she felt sores and pain throughout her body, and it hurt. Regardless of fairy tales, Fae's were not entirely immortal and they felt pain, just like mortals do.

Arianna's eyes fluttered open, the black pupils surrounded by icy-blue flickered from left to right. The room she was in wasn't recognizable. This is where the man must have brought her. Arianna tried to set up, but fell back in defeat. She looked to her left, and noticed the household wasn't exactly kept clean, but it was untidy, it reminded her of her Uncle Dave's house in Wyoming. Arianna turned to the right, and there, sitting down, was the creature she had seen earlier. A wolf, and by the color of his fur, he seemed to be in his older years. Arianna mustered the strength to sit up, biting back the excruciating pain flaming all over her body.

"Who are you..." She asked, her voice barely a whisper, but smooth as honey and pure as silk, it was almost... musical. Her blue eyes never left him as she waited for a response, and she examined his features. She would be lying if she said he wasn't handsome, because he still certainly was.

The grey wolf looked down at her smaller form with a warm smile as she came to once more. "Ah... your awake... Good." He heard her with little trouble, his ears twitching slightly at the pleasant pitch and tone of her voice... He nearly grimaced at how rough and loud his voice sounded in comparison. "I am Riece Bristone, this fine city's Circle Mage." He chuckled at that. "And starting to look it, no doubt. It's almost unfair how quickly my fur grays when compared to that of the other races."

The Circle of Magi was, quite simply, the magical authority and a branch of the government. They handled everything from inter-dimensional travel regulation to basic law enforcement and back again... He shook his head and smoothed the fur atop it with his hand. "Regardless, I'm glad to see you conscious. Your assailants apparently did a number on you." He cocked his head to the side as he curled his tail about slowly.

"If you're alright, we can talk about that, if you like... though first, I'd like to know your name, as well as your guardian's phone number. I've brought you back to my suite, since I couldn't get your information before, and I'm sure whoever is looking after you is quite worried." He settled his elbows on his knees as he watched her for any signs of another blackout.

Arianna glanced down at her hands and she brought her knees up closer towards her, wrapping her slender arms around them. She glanced over at Riece as he introduced himself. She didn't mind the roughness of his voice and the deepness along with it. She smiled slightly at his own amusement and comment about his fur graying more quicker then other races, which she figured it probably did. She nodded, showing her understanding of that he told her.

She wasn't exactly familiar with the Circle of Magi, she had just moved to the city recently. Her parents had died a year and a half ago, and she was sent here to live with her uncle, who she very much hated. He wasn't the greatest man alive. He stayed drunk most of the time, and when he could get it, blown out of his mind from weed. His best mood was his good bad, but when he was in one of his bad moods, it was best to stay away from him. She smiled wanly as he mentioned her appearance, then she looked down and only did realize she still was in her undergarments, and had the scratches over her body, which now had stopped bleeding. She felt her cheeks redden at how she must have looked to him... vulnerable, maybe? "Uh... yes, they did..." She said, her voice more clearer now, but still sweet and smooth.

Sighing, Arianna didn't wish to tell him her uncle's number, she knew she'd get a beating when it was to come. And she certainly didn't wish to let him in on her last name, her uncle was a well-known man in the city, just from his personality and mean exterior. "Um... Arianna." She said, it being all she said. "Thank you... for helping me, I mean." She asked, shifting slightly, her eyes trailing away from his and to look at the ground.

Riece nodded slightly after a moment, noting her reluctance to tell him much... and accepting it. "Well then, I am pleased to meet you, Arianna... And it was no problem at all." He gave her his most disarming, lopsided smile. "I can't imagine anyone walking by and just... leaving a pretty young girl to a fate like that." He sighed, his cheerful disposition wavering slightly at even the memory. "As such, feel free to stay here with me until such a time that you feel safe to leave."

He waved a hand towards a closed door behind him, directly to the right of the entertainment center. "The kitchen is there, and the bathroom's on the other side." He waved again. "I'm sure you can tell which room is mine... Sorry about that. Anyway, the study is right next to it. There's a pull out bed in the couch in there you can use if you prefer it. And last..." He smiled broadly, sitting up straight so he could see over the back of the couch. "As you may or may not have noticed, the balcony is right behind you."

The balcony was accessed by a sliding door next to the study, and had a full wall-to-wall, ceiling-to-floor window that let the first brilliant rays of the full moon's light light shone through. On the balcony was a pair of pristine white chairs and an equally white table with a small flower pot, in which grew an odd plant, only just now blooming and starting to glow. After a moment, his gaze returned to her. "You may make yourself at home... If you like, at some point, I can get you one of my shirts to change into. Tomorow, I'll grab some of my sister's old clothes, though I'm fairly sure they'll be... a bit big on you." He smiled a bit at what was likely an inside joke, though he quickly seemed to remember something.

"Oh! Before I forget, let's take care of your wounds, eh? Doubt you want any of these..." He tapped at the scar under his eye as he reached into his pocket and pulled out another marble-type thing. He held it in his palm, mouthed a word, and it shone with warm, rejuvinating spell-light for a few moments before completely disappearing. "If you need anything else, just let me know."

Arianna tilted her head to one side at his smile. Sure, he looked menacing and deadly, but his smile told something completely different. It... it made Arianna feel... safe around him. Like somehow she knew no harm would come to her with him there. "Nice to meet you as well." She said, smiling for the first time since the attack. Her smile lit up her face, giving off more of her radiant beauty. She nodded at his offer, making it a mission to leave first thing in the morning; her uncle shouldn't be too worried. She nodded in agreement about her attack. "Yes, I know. It has never happened to me before..." Somehow, a thought occurred in her mind. Maybe it was fate? The attack was suppose to happen... bringing me to Riece...? But she quickly pushed the thought out of her mind. It was impossible, right? He was much older then her, and probably didn't even find any interest in a young girl, who he had to take time apart to rescue. "Thank you, I would like to stay, at least until daylight tomorrow, when my uncle gets off work. It should be around two or three in the afternoon." She bit her tongue, almost mentioning his name and place of work, that would've gave everything away.

She followed his hand as he gave her a quick tour of his apartment. She smiled and shook her head. "It's nothing compared to what I've been in, don't worry about it." She said, not minding the clustered mess at all. When he mentioned the balcony, Arianna followed his gaze over to the doors, and her heart lurched at the beauty of the moonlight. She loved to sit outside during the night, just counting the stars and looking at the moon. She longed to sit out there, but wasn't going to ask him.

She nodded and thanked him again for his generous gestures. "Thank you, would you mind if I were to get one of those shirts, now?" She asked him in a polite, well-mannered tone. She raised off respect in her family. She shook her head at his offer to get some of his sister's old clothing for her. "There's no need, I'll be returning home tomorrow." She said with a gentle smile. When he mentioned to take care of her wounds, Arianna nodded. She felt a warmth, then the scratches and marks faded. "Thank you." She said, throwing her feet over the side of the table, just sitting there. She waited to see if his offer for a shirt was still available. God, she sure hoped so. Sitting in her bra and underwear was really uncomfortable and causing her to blush, especially with her wings now in view, and her smaller state showing.

The wolf was also having a bit of a hard time dealing with her... moderately immodest state. His... issues with the situation had , in fact, progressed to the point where he was glad his fur hid his flush and his thick, baggy jeans hid the other aspect her state affected. "Of course, my young friend... I'll just be a moment..." He stood a little awkwardly, though he tried to play it off like his leg simply fell asleep... The last thing a young woman who was the victim of such an assault needed to know was that her savior had less-than-pure thoughts.

Riece walked quickly off into his room, his tail wagging slowly. Once he was out of her visual range, he stopped for a moment and adjusted his pants to sit more comfortably. He quickly grabbed a short sleeved, button up dress shirt from a folded pile of his clean clothes. "Seriously... need to clean up later." He mumbled to himself before returning with the shirt in hand.

He took a moment to compose himself before walking into the room, and, after a moment, decided to take off the hoody he wore as well. It was already warm inside, and he didn't really need to elevate his body temperature any further. With that done. he re-entered the living room with and handed off the shirt to Arianna. "I really hope you don't mind... I don't have anything longer than a dress shirt." He smiled apologetically.

"Now, would you like something to eat? I don't really have anything prepared, but I have some leftovers if you want them..." He paused, remembering how she looked out at the balcony and his eyes glinted slightly. "We could take our meal outside if you like... It's a little cool, but you can borrow one of my jackets as well, if you like." He wasn't entirely sure if inviting her to dinner was appropriate... but the primal, truly wolf like side of his mind insisted thoroughly that it was at least worth a shot.

When he disappeared into his room to get a shirt, Arianna gazed outside. It was a beautiful night, with a full moon and clear skies. She could see the stars glistening high above, this brought a soft smile to her face. Her stomach grumbled lightly, telling her to get some food. Frowning, Arianna remembered she hadn't ate that night. While preparing supper, she forgot she needed milk, and that was when her uncle yelled at her to get "the hell out" and get milk so he could eat. Her lips curled in disgust at the memory. Clearing her throat, she looked up as Riece came back out with a shirt.

"Thank you, and it's perfectly alright." She said in a smooth tone, taking the shirt from him, her hand briefly grazing across his soft, furry one. The feel of his fur against her skin send shivers down her spine... why was she having this effect? After slipping on the shirt, and buttoning it up, she heard him offer for food. Without sounding too eager, Arianna nodded, but she thought the gesture itself was eager. And a smile lit up her face as he offered for them to eat on the balcony. "That would be nice." She said in response, returning back to her human form. She now stood at 5"2. not much of a difference from 4"5, but to real humans, it was normal. Her wings disappeared back into her back, and her hair went back to the darker color.

He nodded, more or less unfazed by her second size change since he met her. He'd seen it similar transformations many times before... His rank and magical prowess often had him dealing with more erratic and extensive shape changing... this was quite normal by comparison. What he was taken off guard by, however, was the sight of a cute young woman in his clothes... Even with his fur, there was little he could do to hide his flushed skin.

He looked away as inconspicuously as possible and chuckled slightly at her eager nod. "Alright then, I'll go heat something up..." He walked into the kitchen with an inaudible sigh, mentally shaking himself for his behavior. He checked his refrigerator and found the left overs from the Circle meeting a night or two ago... With this veritable plethora of cuisine, he was sure he could find something for the Fae girl in his living room... Even if he was terrible at this kind of thing. He pondered the dilemma for a moment, but finally decided to grab her a salad the Fae circle mage had favored, along with a side of a heavy pasta dish he personally enjoyed. For himself, he selected (despite the slight cliche) venison, and divied out half of the remaining pasta for himself... hopefully leaving them both with enough.

He moved the remaining food to their plates and, having felt he'd taken long enough, paused to chant a weak fire spell over the pasta and meat... A short burst of light later, everything was (he hoped) the perfect temperature. He returned shortly and nodded to Arianna. "It's ready. Hope you like it..." He carried both plates in one hand so he might offer her the other to help her up... He still felt quite conscious of her state of dress, but he offered a smile none the less. "We can head out now, if you like."

With a soft, and wearisome, sigh, Arianna nodded as she watched Riece go into the kitchen to get them something to eat. As she waited, Arianna looked on the spines of his book, reading the titles, wondering if there was anything she could find and recognize. So far, nothing. She saw A Tale of Two Cities and took it off the bookcase, she read this a few years ago, and had fell in love with it. The book was truly a piece of art. She smiled, then put it back on the shelf. Sighing, Arianna then took a quick peek at some old photographs he had either hanging up, or set up. Some looked really, really old, and others looked fairly new and updated.

Catching a aroma of pasta, Arianna's mouth watered. That was her favorite. She walked back over to where he last left her to make something to eat and sat back down. The thighs of her legs still felt sore, and she lifted the shirt (reaching a small bit past her thighs) up. She gently massaged the places they had been throbbing. Frowning, Arianna examined her thighs. They was a wound on her right one, one that hadn't been healed or helped by Riece's spell. It was the place bothering her.

Hearing him coming up, Arianna (blushing) flattened the shirt back out and glanced up. The foods aroma grew stronger, hitting her nostrils, and she became eager. "Pasta? Yes, I love it." She said, a smile spread across her face as she noticed the salad, another favorite. Nodding, Arianna stood back up on her own. She headed to the door and opened it up, walking out, breathing in the fresh air, the light breeze blowing her hair around her face.

Riece, feeling ever-so-slightly rejected that she'd refuse a friendly hand up, followed her out with a mental shrug. He set her plate on the small table between the two chairs and sat in the one furthest from the door to look out across the city-scape below. It was a beautiful, moderately quiet night. Even a few of the brighter stars could be seen, twinkling pleasantly in defiance of the harsh city light.

As he chewed his first bite of his venison, Riece glanced over at her with his brow furrowed. "Does your leg still hurt, Arianna? I noticed you fidling with your shirt and limping slightly..." He had to try not to think about her legs to extensively to avoid blushing as well, despite the refreshingly cool outside air. "If the spell I used before was to weak, I can try a stronger one... Though without a prepared orb, I'll likely need to be in direct contact."

((Just to let you know, the next few weeks I might be busy and not on as much, I'm graduating in 4 weeks, so I'm preparing for that.))

Arianna ate her food in silence, her eyes wondering to the stars, thinking how beautiful they were. When she was a lot younger, maybe around five or six, she'd go out and watch the stars and moon, and study their formations. It was okay to say, when it came to astrology, she was no stranger. After taking several bites of her Italian dish, she move on to eat some of her salad. It was delicious, and satisfying her hunger quite well. She paused from the food to, slowly and painfully, adjust herself.

Her eyes were still focused on the stars and moon when Riece spoke. Turning away, she glanced over at him and smiled, shrugging her shoulders. "They're alright right now, still a little bit sore though." She said, frowning slightly. Maybe she was exaggerating, right now they were actually pretty sore. She then shook her head. "No, I'll let them heal on their own." She said, smiling slightly over at him, taking some more bites of her salad.

((M'kay.))

Riece made a bit of a face. "You sure? I won't try to press the issue, but... You do seem to be in more pain than you are letting on, my young friend." His venison steak was quickly dissapearing, almost literally, though the pasta remained almost completely untouched. He shrugged and sighed. "If it's your preference, however, I understand. Just let me know if you change your mind, Arianna."

In all honesty, he was also a bit relieved that she'd declined his offer. The nature of healing revolved around empathy, sharing pain for a brief moment to amplify exponentially the body's healing response... Of course, the empathic link required sometimes... leaked other things through. For this reason, when healling mortally wounded, it's often good to be in contact with a loved one... and to remain a caring but dispassionate medium between the two, yourself. And Mr. Bristone certainly didn't want his... "emotions" to cloud her mind as they did his.

Nodding, she smiled over at Riece. "Yes, I'm positive. I might be young, but I know the affects of those spells on their beholder, you, and I would not want that to be put on yourself." She said, finishing off her food. "Besides, I've suffered more injuries then this one, it'll heal, just in good time." She said, holding in a yawn. "Thanks, that was really good." Arianna complimented, rubbing her stomach. Already, the pain in her leg was starting to slowly go away.

"Um, would it be alright if I took a shower?" She said, wrinkling her nose as she looked over at him. She hadn't had that one that day, and she felt purely disgusting; especially after everything that had just happened. She shivered thinking about the horrible encounter, and she felt super thankful Riece had come at just the right moment to help her. Prince Charming. She laughed in her head at the irony, but he did save her, and Arianna was grateful for that. How could she ever repay him?
