His parents told him to be more careful when he got to the Academy of Holy Studies. He didn't know why . . . until he got there. There were murmurs of a Realm project that the Lord of Angels was planning; apparently, they were transferring one of demonkind to the school in order to test out how well they integrated with each other.

Gabriel scoffed, running a hand through his short black hair, which lightly trimmed at the sides and back to frame his eerie blue eyes a bit better, which shined irregularly. Folding his wings, Gabriel hid them to the best of his ability, making him look a bit more "human" until someone noticed his wings.

Dropping his bag next to a table, the young Angel sat with his friends, who were currently chatting about the possibility of a demon coming to their Academy. When Gabriel was asked about it, he shrugged. "Does it really matter? He'll end up dead by the end of the day, anyway. And as long as he stays out of my way, it'll be fine..." he muttered, leaning back as he waved at a few female Angels that passed. Apparently he was the most eligible bachelor.

He sighed, leaning back as he closed his eyes and thought about different things. So, it made sense that Gabriel didn't notice the darker presence that entered the school... the demon.

She hated the idea as soon as she heard it. She resented it from the bottom of her heart. And yet here she was, standing outside of the gates that led up to the angelic school. Her heart pounded away rapidly and wished that it could have been anyone else but her. But it was too late to be thinking of all those 'what if's and she just had to accept what had happened.

Gathering her strength, Jezzali took in a deep breath and let it out, counting the amount of seconds it took for all of the breath to leave her body. It help somewhat. After brushing back some of her dark brown hair, which fell in thick ringlets halfway down her back, she walked towards the school. Her black, leathery wings shifted uncomfortably behind her and they folded tightly into her clothing, not wanting to go in there just displaying herself like that. It was bad enough she'd be amongst a bunch of angels.

As soon as she walked in, she felt her paranoia rise and her breath caught in her throat. Her crimson red eyes darted around as she could feel the power of all the angels just loom above her. With a tiny sigh she began to walk down the halls, feeling the eyes of many upon her when she passed. She held a small notebook she had brought with her tighter to her chest and already wanted to bolt out of there. If she did, though, she knew that the Demon Lord would probably exile her or something for insubordination and disregarding his orders.

'Perhaps this will be what the deep levels of Hell are like,' Jezzali thought sarcastically before finally arriving to the locker she had been assigned; she had the piece of paper with her, which she now looked at for her combination. Frowning, she began to work at the lock to get it open and grab what she needed for class; she was told books and such would be supplied for her.

Gabriel faintly heard his friends whispering and gasping softly in surprise, but did his best to ignore it. But of course, his ears naturally zoned in on their words.

"Holy shit, is that a demoness?!"
"I thought it was going to be a guy!"
"Look at the ass on her!"
"Gabriel, wake up. Take a look..."

The angel in question sighed, pushing himself off the metal table to look at what they were whispering about. But she was already gone, disappeared into the hall. He narrowed his eyes in curiosity before standing up. "C'mon, we got to get to class..." he muttered, grabbing his bag and walking down the hall where the demoness was last seen.

He stopped for a moment to open his locker, taking out and putting in his books before walking again, thankful that his parents managed to grab a pair of human sneakers for him to have. But then he saw her; or were they "it"? Gabriel wasn't sure.

At first look, he could tell that he was very beautiful; her hair cascaded down her shoulders gracefully, but he couldn't stop looking at her wings. The exact opposite of his ultra-white, fluffy pair, hers was a black, leathery composite. Smirking faintly, he adjusted his loose white dress shirt and strode past her, his legs brushing against her ass before one of his friends decided to push her into her locker with a shove. It was then they left into their classroom in a fit of laughter, thought Gabriel was quiet as he sat down, not knowing that the demoness would have the same class as him, as well many other things...

Jezzali could hear some whispers coming from the nearby students and frowned to herself as she shut her locker, trying her best to block them out. Already she felt like her hope were draining rapidly from her and she definately knew this would be a terrible year. If she even survived that long, that is. Her doubts about that were rising and she was actually hoping perhaps this would turn out to be terrible. Why would they do this, anyways? Demons and angels would never be able to get along.

She glanced over her shoulder as she felt someone brush against her and sighed, about to begin walking to her clase when she felt a rough shove and went face-first into her locker. She made no noise and stood there for a moment, pain coming from her nose and forehead. When she heard the laughter die down and the hall slowly emptying, she backed away from the locker and rubbed her nose; thank goodness it wasn't broke or anything. The demoness had no intentions of injuring herself on her first day here.

With a deep breath, Jezzali looked at her schedule and walked along down the hall, which was empty now except for the occasional straggler hurrying along to their class. She soon found the door to her first class of the day and hesitated for a moment before walking inside. Of course, she was the last one to show up. Her eyes did a quick scan of the room before she went to take a seat by herself, catching a couple of faces she had just seen in the hall. The demoness was sure to not hold eye contact for too long.

The teacher obviously saw her come in and put on a warm smile; she couldn't tell if it was fake or not. "Ah, just in time," he said as he addressed the class. "Everyone, this is Jezzali. She is attending this school because the Lords of both angels and demons wish to bring both kinds together in harmony. And so, she has been sent here to try this out." He gave her a smile which she didn't return. Instead, she simply turned her head away, wishing the day was already over.

Gabriel had begun to rest for another quick moment, but the voice of his teacher practically announcing the demoness made his eyes snap open in surprise, his wings stretching out to their full width for just a second before folding back in. He looked over at her, a bit glad to finally see her face.

Jezzali . . . . it's similar to Jezebel. Heh... he thought, gazing silently at her. However, the other boys in class were staring at her like she was a piece of meat, their eyes mostly on either her chest or her ass. But they would never do something to her, as the happiness of their Lord was far more important than physical gratification.

But, as he would find out, it wasn't the same for him. There was a certain draw to her that he felt, which intrigued him and disgusted him at the same time. Gabriel looked to the teacher, wanting him to just get on the history lesson, so much so that he didn't notice that the only empty chair in class was next to him. This was a surprise, in general. But, because of the situation, it was perfectly clear that no one else wanted to sit next to her, and Gabriel was far to oblivious to know it at the moment.

The class was soon started and the day really seemed to rush by the demoness. She heard the whispers of students wherever she went and it was hard to hold her head up high, as she had been told before she got here. She got shoved again into her locker again before the class following History and it took a lot to hold her composure. Her wings twitching, she went to class without a word. After that--thankfully--was lunch. Perhaps she'd just be able to find a secluded spot and just have a nice break for the day.

She was trailing along at the very end of the crowd heading to lunch, idly listening to a few conversations nearby. She still heard chatter of her, the demoness everyone thought was going to be a demon. Geez, sexist, much? A sigh escaped Jezzali's lips and she walked inside of the cafeteria, the noise of all the talking making her ears ring. She saw many eyes on her and she ignored it as she walked along the edge of the room; there was a large courtyard that the cafeteria was attatched to. It was probably much more peaceful out there. Besides, she brought her own lunch, so she didn't need to wait in any of the long lines and therefore there was no need for her to stay inside.

When lunch finally came, Gabriel was thankful; it was one of the few times that he could have some space to himself, as his friends usually ate in the cafeteria, while he ate outside where no one would bother him.

He only drank water and ate bread with cheese - as the usual food that he had was to keep his body pure - so he didn't have trouble getting outside to sit at a lone bench.

But as he began to eat, he noticed the demoness once more and sighed, rolling his eyes in exasperation. Not only did she sit next him in class, but apparently she also had to eat in the same area. "Fuck..." he growled, eying her silently. Gabriel wondered if they actually ate souls daily, and so watched her carefully as he ate and drank, hoping she wouldn't sit at the same table as him, seeing as most of the others were being used by large groups.

Jezzali noticed an angel that she had seen quite a couple of times around the school and in one of her classes so far. Frowning at him she was sure not to go anywhere near him and was able to eventually find a small table to herself. She brought a simple cheese sandwhich that she just picked at, not feeling very hungry; she was really too nervous. Her stomach kept flipping around and twisting and untwisting itself into and out of knots.

As she left her sandwhich half-eaten, she laid down her notebook and took her pencil from her pocket. She flipped to a page near the back, the lines blank and filled with plenty of empty space. Her pencil touched the page and she just...began to draw. It was a habit she often got--that or writing--and it usually helped with her stress or if something was on her mind. And there was definately plenty of that for her to draw something good.

Gabriel was surprised at her choice of a sandwich, but didn't change his opinion that Demons were creatures of evil and shouldn't be treated with much respect. This thought made him growl gently in anger before he saw her take out her notebook and began to draw.

What happened next was apparently a product of his instincts against a Demon, to treat them as badly as one could in that moment. Pushing his food away, Gabriel stood up and walked behind her, not making a sound until he peered over her head to look at the pages of her notebook.

"Well well, what have we here?" he inquired, quickly swooping his hand down to snatch up her small book, taking into his hands and stepping back to flip through it. Everyone's attention was on them as the Angel scoffed. "Hmph, I didn't cretins knew how to draw."

Jezzali's blood turned to ice as she heard the voice over her shoulder and wasn't able to react fast enough as her notebook was snatched away. She turned sharply and saw it was none other than the angel from before. And he was looking through her notebook, which he'd find disappointedly empty, except for some notes she had jotted down today and the half-finished drawing of what looked like a bat (it was her favorite type of animal). God, what was she supposed to do? She felt that anger boiling up in the pit of her stomach, the anger she felt at the angels because they are her arch enemies. But she was just so afraid because of being so outnumbered. Yet...maybe it was time she stood up a bit for herself.

"There's really nothing interesting in there," she told him dismissively. "However, I'd like it back; I need it." She spoke in a sort of tone that would make it seem as if she didn't care whether she got it back or not. Part of her didn't; that sarcastic, mean, bitchy part of her that she never let rise up too high because she hated getting pissed off and in-turn getting people pissed off at her. Perhaps it was time she loosen the chains on that part of her and allow more of it to show through.

Gabriel ignored Jezzali and continued flipping through it; he didn't really acknowledge the fact that the drawings were actually pretty damn good. But he smirked and chuckled it off, glancing at her before closing the book. "Why the fuck would you need to draw?" he growled, looking at her with a slight glare.

The instincts in him then forced the hand that held the book to toss it at her feet, scoffing dismissively. "See you later . . . bitch," he said coldly, turning to walk away, ignoring the laughs made at Jezzali's expense.

Jezzali just looked off to the side as he asked his question and didn't respond, waiting silently for him to be finished with her notebook. Would she be surprised if he walked off with it? Not really. She wouldn't be surprised if he tore it up, stomped on it, maybe threw it in the trash or just totally ruined it with water or some other form of a drink. She was surprised, however, when he simply threw it on the ground and walked off.

Feeling as if her feelings had just been totally trampled on, she reached down and snatched the notebook up before closing it silently. Not feeling hungry at all now, she stood up with her trash from lunch, threw it away, and stalked off with her head low. It wouldn't be a bad thing to wait outside her next class for the next twenty or so minutes, would it? Maybe then she'd be left alone.

The rest of the school day had been normal as it could be; Jezzali was no longer in his classes, but his mind lingered on her. The usual part of him just wanted to leave her alone, to get on with his life. But his Angelic pride wouldn't allow him to think of anything else but her. This pride wanted to show her how unwelcome she was there. But how? He couldn't kill her with probable cause, and from the looks of her behavior, she wasn't a fighter.

Gabriel smirked; there was a way to send a message, humiliate her and give himself some semblance of peace and relief. He could conquer her will. However, he was wondering how it might be possible in a place a public as school.

The answer came shortly when school ended. Gabriel had prepared to leave school on his own, but his parents were waiting for him, their expressions stoic and cold; unusual for their normally warm, happy faces. "What's going on? Is this about-?" he inquired softly, hoping it wasn't about picking on the Demoness. But the sound of footsteps made him turn around and see Jezzali and the dean of the school. "Speak of the devil..." he said flatly, not laughing at the obvious joke.

Jezzali luckily didn't have anymore classes with the angel from before but most of the other students were just as cruel. Somehow she managed to get along through the day and was the first one to dash out of the classroom as the bell to end the day finally rang. She felt happy, relieved. And scared that she'd have to then go through this again tomorrow.

But just as she was heading towards the parking lot, the dean had approached her with a warm smile that immediately had sent chills down her body. "Ah...hello, sir," she had said with a small, tight smile. "Did you need something?"

"No, I am not in need of anything,"
he had replied with a smile. "However, I've been thinking over it within the last hour, and I've decided...it may be too much hassle for you to go back and forth from here to your own home." Her blood had turned to ice and she could feel the blood draining from her face as he had finished with: "I believe it'd be better for you to stay with one of the students."

There hadn't been much arguing about it after that; she wasn't able to change his mind. So she was led to the parking lot by him and she walked silently, her shoulder slumping, her eyes not looking at the angels gawking at her walking with the dean. As they walked she kept wondering who she would be paired with when she spotted him standing beside what looked to be his parents' car.

'Oh no, oh no, oh no, please! Anyone but him!' she screamed in her mind, her face pale, but she said no word. Instead she just stood stiffly next to the dean as they stopped before the angel and she looked off to the side since she didn't want to make eye contact.

"Good afternoon, Gabriel," the dean began with a friendly smile to the angel. "I was unable to tell you before you left school, but I have already talked with your parents earlier about this. I believe it to be too much trouble for the demoness to go back and forth from her own home so I have asked your parents to look after her as she attends this school."

Gabriel gave the dean a slight nod of greeting before he got right to the point. With each word, his eyes became wider and wider in shock before he was able to speak. "WHAT?!" he shouted in frustration. They only had two bedrooms; his and his mother and father!

"I'm not sharing my bedroom with trash like her!" the Angel growled, glaring at Jezzali in anger. However his pride spoke once more in his head. Idiot! He just gave you a place to break her in private; she'll have to listen to and obey your rules, his pride said.

The glare was still present on his face, but his pride was right. Now Jezzali was basically his, though she wouldn't know it just yet. Feeling a hand on his shoulder, he glanced at his father, who frowned. "You have no choice in the matter, son. This is between the Lords of the Realms..." his father said stiffly, though it was obvious that he was struggling with the idea, too.

Making a resigned sighed, Gabriel scoffed and nodded. "All right, fine..." he muttered. He silently turned away to get in the car, though this silence was just his way of formulating his plans. Gabriel's mother opened the door for Jezzali, though she seemed to be a bit nervous in the presence of a Demoness.

Jezzali winced slightly at Gabriel's sudden outburst at what the dean said but was otherwise completely still. Finally, as she heard a car door shut, she looked back to see that his mother now had opened a door for her. She glanced back up at the dean, desperation in her eyes, trying to silently tell him 'I don't want to go!', but he just gave a reassuring smile and pat on her shoulder before giving a respectful nod to the other angels and heading back to the school.

Sighing, the demoness turned back to the car and gave a small nod to the woman angel to give her silent thanks for opening the door. Silently she got in, heart pounding, and closed the door. The sound of it closing was like the sound of her fate now being locked into place. She didn't want to imagine what would happen now that she'd be sharing a house with a bunch of angels.

Gabriel silently scooted to the left as Jezzali got in, wanting as much space as possible for now. Crossing his arms, he looked out the window as his father started the car and drove off, his eyes glazing over in deep thought. His pride, however, was extremely extremely and giddy for this rare chance.

While Gabriel still saw her as a nuisance, the pride was excited to be known as the Angel who broke in a Demoness, much less a ridiculously beautiful and intelligent one!

A while later, the car stopped in front of their house, where Gabriel got out without a word and slammed the door, not allowing Jezzali to follow close behind. He walked into their living room and waited, knowing that there would be a family meeting just then.

Jezzali was silent the entire time, staring out the window gloomily with her arms folded in her lap. She seemed still as a statue except when she would occasionally lift her hand to brush aside some hair or take a deep breath to calm herself. Her heart was just beating so irregular because of how frightened she was. It was like she was a trapped bird beating its wings about frantically to try and escape the cage it was held in.

She blinked, as if coming out of a trance, and realized they had arrived at the angel's home. Sighing silently through her nose, the demoness stepped out of the car and waited for Gabriel's parents to walk ahead first before she went ahead and trailed a few steps after them.
