"THIS place?"
Matt stared at his friend in disbelief as they had finally arrived at the destination she had made such a big deal out of keeping secret from him the entire day. The girl next to him nodded with a huge grin, and he couldn't help but let out a little laugh. He was not sure what he had expected, to be honest. All he knew was that today, on his 21st birthday, she had simply said that they were going someplace special, and he had openly accepted. She was usually good at thinking of some incredibly fun things to do. And yet now here he stood in front of a club he had been deliberately avoiding for a while, mostly because he really wasn't into these kinds of places. The neon sign was a harsh pink, standing out among many other things and announcing that this was apparently one of the best clubs one could go to at all. He could already hear the music down there, but seemed pleasantly surprised that it was not the usual loud oomph-oomph that he associated with places like these. Shrugging, he then nodded. "Alright, let's go inside, then."
So the young man walked down the stairs and into the club which was placed slightly underneath the sidewalk. Getting in was no problem - they didn't even ask for ID, though he could only wonder why. He still had a fairly boyish appearence, not helped very much by the fact that he was only 5'6'' tall either. But it was that boyish appearence that sort of gave him his charm, his hair being semi-long, reaching his chin and somewhat curled. He was dressed in a simple white buttoned shirt and a pair of dark jeans, not having wanted to get all fancy for the sake of what was essentially just birthday drinking. He seemed pleasantly surprised when he got down there. The place was richly decorated, and the music kept at a level where it was still easy to strike a conversation. He did note that the place seemed to be mostly filled with women, and a glance at the bar did reveal that this seemed to be more of a fizzy drink and cocktail thing, but he didn't mind. He looked around over his shoulder to thank his friend for bringing him here, but found that she had apparently run off somewhere. For a moment, he didn't know what to do - so he soon walked through the club, which seemed surprisingly crowded, looking for her, and for that matter, a seat.
