Robert 38 years old 5’11 195 pounds brown hair and green eyes. He has worked for 20 years at the local factory and made foreman 5 years ago. He is not management material beyond where he is at. He got his high school sweetheart pregnant shortly after they graduated. His plans of college vanished. It was the military or the factory. He had experience from summers working there at least in the clean up crew and his grandfather, father and brothers certainly provided a legacy. He took what he could get and worked his way to 1st shift and a foreman’s job.
Robert’s ex-wife was good with the middle class life for a while. House with 3 bedrooms and 1 and half baths. He was able to finish and fix up the basement. One car garage and one car. No white picket fence but close enough. As Robert continued to work extra shifts to make some extra money to buy a second car for their teenage daughter, the issues started. He wasn’t home enough and what about her. She eventually cleaned out the bank accounts and took whatever she could then left. Last word was shacked up with a former high school classmate but all that mattered the divorce was finalized for abandonment.
Robert was somewhat devastated but he knew he had his daughter to help him pick up the pieces. She was beyond her years in wisdom. That is probably why they were close all those years. Maybe his ex-wife Rachel always resented their daughter. He did know she forced her to do most of the household chores most of the time. So, it was nothing for her to do it now.
Story-
Robert comes home from work. He walks in and hugs his daughter cooking and kisses her cheek.
“Hey darling. Dinner smells great.” He says and takes his coat off and grabs the newspaper to read.
