Solbaste couldn't believe her luck. Not to say that that luck had been any good; she just couldn't believe how astoundingly bad it had become. She had been making a very rare excursion to the surface. A box of poisons to deliver, as a matter of fact, to a lord whose engagements had kept him out of the Underdark. So she'd swathed her face in dark veils, pulled on a cloak, and had left to the world above to deliver the box she'd been carrying in a light satchel.
And then she'd been set upon, by some warrior. A man with a sword and steel armor where his brains should have been. A man who had seen the dark skin beneath the veils, and on her hands, and the Drow designs on her robe... and had denounced her as a creature of evil. She had done her best. Done her best, really, to just walk away, or failing that, get him with a poisoned dart. But that had not worked.
She had been brought to battle, with whip and magic... which had proved fruitless against the man. So he had brought her down, bruised and aching from the man's shield, clearly trying to take her alive for whatever reason. And so now she lay there, incapacitated.
Glaring up at the human. "What do you want?" she spat at last.
