The school year had come and gone, and at last Sam had returned home for the summer. That, in and of itself, was cause for celebration, yet the soon-to-be-eighteen year old found himself more exited then usual given the circumstances. Living in a small rural sort of town for most of his life, Sam had been enrolled in a school for those of his own kind soon after graduating middle school. His mother, being his only parent, had convinced him that it would make things easier on him to be with those like himself, even if that meant spending the school year abroad, some hundred or so miles away.
Brushing a lock of his sun dyed blonde hair from his face, he paused upon the doorstep of his mothers home, biting down on his lip. Absently, he found himself staring at his own reflection in the window set into the door, as curious an image to him as it was to others. Sam, as it stood, was a bit of a mix-breed. While his pointed ears were definitely those of a wolfs, the rest of his body had taken predominately from the feline side of his genes, his body lean and muscular, hardly an ounce of fat on him, almost as thin as the thin cat-like tail that followed him. As a final sign of his mixed heritage, his eyes, both bright and big, were of two different hues, one a light snowy blue, the other a gleaming sort of yellow.
Sighing to himself, he smiled and shook his head, clutching his hand into a fist and knocking upon the door. From his mothers last letter, he was expecting his aunt to be visiting, his mothers twin, to be precise. Sam didn't remember much about her, but was rather curious to meet her, seeing as how he understood she was to be living with them other the summer.
