Chris had just woken up from a good night's sleep. He didn't get dressed but instead headed out to the living room. He grabbed his phone and started to type out a message to his best friend. It read ' Hey, Wanna come over later? We can have a movie night ' and he hit send. He left his phone on the table and headed to the shower.

Chris was around 6 feet tall, slightly muscular but overall slim. He had dark green eyes that changed to a much lighter green in the right light. He had dark brown hair that occasionally got in his face. He was known for his dashing smile and his tanned skin which he was born with. He jumped in the shower, washing himself as he did every morning. Once he finished he headed into his room, getting dressed in a pair of blue jeans and a black t-shirt. He went back into the living room to see if she had replied.

Carter dried herself off after taking a long, hot shower to wake herself up after a good night's sleep. She toweled her black curls until they were relatively dry, then put on a pair of loose fitting black jeans and a white low cut lace trimmed camisole. Her grey eyes fell on her cell phone as it vibrated so hard it fell off her bedside table. She bare feet sank into the plush purple carpet covering her floor as she crossed the bedroom and picked it up.

Hey, Wanna come over later? We can have a movie night

Carter bit the corner of her lip, trying to determine if she had anything important to do. When she came up blank she turned her attention back to the device in her hand.

Sounds great. See ya later

Chris felt his phone vibrate and smiled, checking the message and smiling. He sent her a reply, 'See you then!'. He relaxed on his couch as he was happy to see his best friend again. He got up and looked through his movies, he piled romances together, comedies together, scary movies together, etc. He had it all set up so she could choose whatever movie she would want to watch. He was excited for thief movie night and hoped she would enjoy it too.

Her phone buzzed again, and she picked it up to see that it was a text from Chris. She smiled, but didn't respond. What else was there left to say? She put her phone back on the bedside table, and then went to go get something to eat. After an hour she returned to her room and plopped down on the edge of her bed, debating what she was going to do until she decided to go hang out with Chris. Her phone vibrated, interrupting her thoughts.

Just so you know, I'm now officially taken.

Carter frowned at the bright LCD screen. She'd been talking to this guy for months. As far as she knew she was the only one he was romantically interested in. Now he was telling her he had a girlfriend?

Wow. You just couldn't wait, huh?

She waited almost ten minutes for a reply, her anger building with every passing minute.

You took too long. I'm sorry.

Carter scoffed and rolled her eyes as she texted back.

I just bet you are. Whatever. I'll be the best thing you never had.

With that, Carter tossed her phone across the queen sized canopy bed and threw herself back into a pile of pillows. She was so frustrated with dating. It was nothing but a game to most people these days, and she was so tired of games. Whatever, there was no use crying over spilled milk.

She huffed as she sat up and retrieved her phone from the other side of the bed, sending a text to Chris to tell him she was on her way before she stashed the phone in one of the pockets of her oversized pockets and left.

Chris received her text and smiled. He got up and did some extra cleaning to make his place look good. Once he finished, he put a bag of popcorn in the microwave so they could eat it later. He kept checking the window to see if she was there yet. He was almost anixous to see his best friend again, they would have alot of catching up to do. He spotted her and smiled, starting the popcorn and leaving his door unlocked for her.
