Rick Willis gave one final wave to the crowd as he stepped off stage. Once he was out of sight of everyone there he wiped the sweat off his brow and went straight to his dressing room. He was getting tired. It had been a long tour, but finally he and his band mates would be getting some vacation time. After one more show. That night they would be getting on the bus and driving through the night to the final stop of their summer tour.

Rick was the front man for a rock band. They were fairly new on the music scene, with just one full record out. Their second would be coming out in time to hit stores for Christmas. They had a launch tour set up for the fall. The stops on their tour were not in major arenas, but they seemed to be selling out the good mid sized venues. He didn't know the details, but he felt the tour was a success. Still, he wanted to be able to enjoy the few weeks of vacation time he had and rest his vocal chords.

After a few minutes of just relaxing in his dressing room he went to the main green room for the band. The rest of the guys were there, as well as their manager. It was soon confirmed that their last stop was sold out as well. It was also by far their biggest show. They would end it off in a big way. Rick pulled aside the manager and also double checked that his plans for vacation were confirmed. He was happy to hear that they were.

Rick was not quite sure how he felt about his life. Sure, he had all he wanted, but he still wasn't happy. Something was missing. He just couldn't figure out what it was. He had his career as a musician, even if tours were a little more tiring than he had expected. He liked how he looked. He had never had problems with that. He was 6'3" with an average build. His blue eyes seemed to be a popular feature. He did keep his brown hair short, after an incident with a fan. He was able to get enough time outside to keep a light tan on his skin. He didn't want anything fake though. He made sure it was on his contract with the record label that they would not be allowed to mess with his image. Still, even now that he was getting enough money to easily support himself, he felt somewhat empty. He really just wanted to figure out what was missing and fill that hole in his life.

That night he climbed onto the bus once everything was packed up. Most of the fans had left a long time ago. There were a few hanging around. A couple of groupies that Rick just ignored as he stepped up into the apartment on wheels. In a minute he was up in one of the bunks in the back, sleeping before the bus even started moving.

Guinevere Higgins was a simple girl. Never really wanted anything more than what she had. Always happy to help others and never broke the law. She was generous and kind, willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. When she was in high-school she was known as a 'Saint'. She honestly didn't know if she really liked that or not. It was just the way she grew up. Sure, she did a few things that would of got her grounded, but it wasn't anything too flamboyant. After graduating, she went onto college and started her major in psychology. Now that she was in her third year of college, she had recently moved into an apartment with her best friend, Lyndsy.

Lyndsy was someone who had a 'colorful personality'. She was always easy to excite, had a bubbly personality and loved pretty much anything cute. She wasn't too overly pretty, a little above average looking. But she was beautiful in her own way nonetheless. Her major was in art and photography. That was why their apartment looked as if an art bomb went off. There were empty frames, blank canvas', bottles of paints and clean paint brushes everywhere.

Guinevere sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose once she walked through the door with text books in hand. The slightly obnoxious girl had been jumping up and down with the phone in her hand for the last five minutes. "Guin! Oh my gosh I can't believe it!!" Her ears were ringing and the door was still open for all the building to hear. The artist was dressed in a slightly too big grey t-shirt with large paint splotches on it with an old, faded pair of light blue jeans. The jeans were ripped and torn and had a personality that only a box of Sharpie markers and paint can make. Her caramel brown, wavy shoulder length hair bounced as she jumped in excitement.

"What are you so excited about?" The less than excited girl asked as she gently kicked the door closed. Hearing the soft click behind her, she set her text books down on the small night stand they used to put their mail, keys and change on. Unlike her best friend, Guin had a different way of dressing when doing her job. She wore a business attire. Black dress pants and black stilletos stuck out from the dark fabric that seemed to hug fit and firm legs. A white cotton shirt stuck out underneath a black button up blouse with sleeves that reached to her elbows. Her hair was blond, not fake blond or platinum. It was a natural blond, soft and silkly. She kept her hair long, a little passed shoulder blade length and layered. Currently, it was loosely curled from having to dress properly for class.

"I won tickets! To see Rick Willis and his band in concert! They're also giving me VIP backstage passes." She squealed, which triggered a spike for the other girl's starting head ache. Guinevere blew her blonde bangs from her green eyes before sighing. "Why on earth would you want to see them in concert?" Lyndsy instantly stopped and frowned, looking at her blond friend. "Because they're insanely awesome and I want you go come with me." Green eyes instantly turned to Lyndsy's brown ones. Was she serious? She knew she didn't like them very much. They were all over the radio and most of the students at school had tickets already.

So the rest of the night continued with Lyndsy poking at Guin to go to the concert until she got too annoyed to say no anymore. Finally with a very irritated 'yes', the two girls went to bed, exhausted. One happy, one...not so much.

Rick woke up in the morning in a new city. Somewhere he had never been before. He stepped off the bus and went right into the stadium. He found his way to their rooms. He was the first awake of his bandmates. He had a nice long shower and then got dressed in some casual clothes. He was glad he could relax for a while before he had to start getting busy with sound checks and some rehearsal. He wished he could actuaqlly explore the city, but there just wasn't time. That was one thing he had been misinformed of when it came to his chosen career. Touring wasn't like really visiting a lot of different cities and getting to see them. It was more of a visit to a lot of different hotels. Sure, if there was a little time between shows they could see a little, but they were always busy with rehearsals and a lot of other details.

The catering company had a good breakfast ready for them. Rick and his friends sat around and enjoyed the meal. A few hours later the crew had finally finished setting things up. Everyone got up on stage and grabbed their instruments. They were already in tune thanks to one of their crew. Everyone took turns playing a little to make sure the sound system was set up perfectly for that arena and its acoustics. Then they played all together to make sure it meshed. Rick sang a little and when they knew it was all ready they got a short break.

After their break they went to start some rehearsal. On the way back to the stage they were informed of the special guests with back stage passes for that evening. Apparently someone had decided to make a deal giving a guarantee to certain backstage pass holders that they would be allowed to see the band after the show. It meant that no matter what, they couldn't just ignore them if they didn't feel like seeing them. Rick wished they would have been informed sooner, but there was nothing they could do to change it now, so he would just go along with it. He just continued on to stage and rehearsed, getting ready for the final show of the tour.

Morning came and Guinevere was the first one awake. She was always the first one up. Lyndsy loved to sleep in, no matter how early or late she went to sleep the night before. Guin didn't mind though. She enjoyed her quiet mornings alone to do her own thing. It was Friday, and she didn't have classes; so she took her time making some coffee, a bagel with cream cheese and skimmed over the news paper. Sitting in the kitchen at the island, the blonde sat in silence as she sipped her coffee and read over the paper. About an hour and a half later, Lyndsy came out yawning and rubbing her eyes. "G'morning..." she mumbled.

Guin looked up from her black rimmed glasses, and smiled. "Good morning, sunshine. I made coffee." The brunnette smiled brightly and went to pour herself a cup. Unlike her friend, she liked her's black. "Are you excited?" She plopped down in the stool infront of her friend and sipped at her hot beverage.

"Excited for what?" She continued to read, not making eye contact. They had conversations like this almost every morning. Today's wasn't any different. "For the concert tonight! Duh. What are you going to wear?" This made the blonde pause in midsentence before looking at her best friend. "No, I'm not really excited and I don't know. Clothes." She was going to continue on reading until she heard her friend gasp. "Are you serious? You're going to meet a band that is becoming more and more popular everyday and you don't even know what to wear?!" She sighed and fought the urge to roll her eyes. "I'll find something." A brief pause came before she thought of something with a smirk. "What are you going to wear?" This made the young at heart girl stop her fidgetting and and scrambled out of the chair with her coffee. A brief moment later, there was a slamming of a door.

Guinevere smirked. Atleast there'd be peace and quiet for the next two hours. During those hours, she did some homework, had another cup of coffee, picked out something to wear for the night and organized some of Lyndsy's art pieces. By the time that was done, her friend came out with a grin on her face. "I know what I'm going to wear." She said in a sing-song voice. Guin smiled and nodded. "Good, it's almost time to get ready." She didn't even see her friend bolt to the shower. "Okay.."

With a shrug, she went to make herself something to eat for lunch and then it'll be her turn for a nice, hot shower.

Once the rehearsal was over Rick and his bandmates went and had a nice lunch in their main green room. After that they got to relax for a while. Rick rested his vocal chords as much as he could. He was getting tired after the tour and he needed to be careful to make sure his voice held up for the final show. He really didn't say much as he played cards with his friends. One of the greatest things about this career was that he and his bandmates had been good friends for many years and making music together had not strained their relationships. They had fun together all the time. They also knew eachother really well.

As the time for the show got nearer Rick had another shower and then got dressed for the show. He picked out some clothes that he felt comfortable with on stage. He then went and sat in a chair as some people rushed around and fiddled with his hair and put on some makeup. It really wasn't much. Nothing obvious. Just stuff that made him look a little better on stage and on the big screens. He didn't mind it too much. He made sure his hair was still as it was supposed to be. When they were done he let out a sigh of relief and then returned to his dressing room to just rest a bit more.

When it was time for the show he heard the buzz outside. He knew the place was filling up. He joined his friends in the main green room and they watched the opening act together on a tv in the room. They could hear the dull sound of the music outside the room as the crystal clear sound also came into the room through a set of speakers. As the opening act started their last song the band moved to the sides of the stage to get ready. There was still the time it took to switch kits and get everything set for them, but in less than ten minutes they would be up there in front of the packed room of their fans. They were still fairly new at all of this and it felt a bit surreal. There was still some amazement every time. That so many people were there to see them.

About an hour and a half later, Lyndsy had been half way done while Guin got her shower and started drying her hair. While her friend fidgeted around, doing her hair and her make-up almost to her own perfection, Guin took her good old time. She wasn't excited about this. She just wasn't. But because it was her best friend and she was so excited, she was going to go. That and she didn't want her to get hurt. Who knows what kinds of people this band attracted.

While Lyndsy stood at the door with her hair straightened and her make up done, she smoothed out the band t-shirt that she was wearing and the light blue jean clad thighs. She normally did that when she was nervous. "Guin..." She whined, jingling the keys in her hand. "Come on..." Guinevere walked out of her room wearing a pair of dark blue skinny jeans, black stilleto boots, a short black leather jacket that ended just to the middle of her rib cage and a long white t-shirt that clung to her curves. Her hair was curled and her make-up was done. Lyndsy squealed which made her roll her eyes. "Come on. Lets get this stupid thing over with."

Grabbing the tickets on the stand, she gave the brunette VIP pass and slipped hers into her own pocket as they headed out.

It didn't take too long for them to get there. Lyndsy was talking 50 miles per minute about how great the band was and all Guin could do was ignore her and look out the window. "We're here!" She went through the gate and pot the first parking spot she seen. "Okay, lets go!" They could hear the sounds of the opening act being played while they made their way through the parking lot and through the doors after handing in their tickets and showing their passes. "You can't say you don't want to be here." There was a brief pause. "I don't. I'm only here because you begged me for three hours straight to come." The brunette scoffed and they took their seats.

Just a few minutes later the stage was set for them. Rick cleared his throat, had a sip of water, and jumped up and down a few times to get his blood pumping. He was ready. They gave the signal and they were announced. He and his four friends walked up onto stage. Davey picked up his guitar and took his position behind the microphone on the left side of the stage. Tyler grabbed his bass and stood behind the microphone on the right of the stage. Stu got behind his keyboard on the far right. Johnny got behind the drum kit. Rick stood behind the microphone in the middle of the stage. Before the cheers died down he greeted the city. More cheers erupted and then he just waited for everyone to calm down.

Rick didn't waste any time. He gave the signal to the rest of the band and they started up their first song. It was one of their most popular from their record and it was upbeat. It was meant to start the show off with excitement. He was full of energy. This was the part of his job he really loved. He sang his heart out. As the show continued they really hit their stride. Their last show truly was their best. They were having so much fin on stage they played an extra three songs before they finally stepped off stage. Rick was exhausted, as were all the others. They made their way to their dressing rooms to get a bit of a break before they had to be in the green room to meet the people with the back stage passes.

Lydnsy was so excited that she squealed and clapped as each one of the band members came out and took their places. She named every single one of them. This made Guinevere raise a delicate eyebrow. "You're creepy." She said to her and it made her friend sulk comically. "I'm not creepy. I'm a HUGE fan." She stressed out and jumped up and down as they played their song, singing to the lyrics. She had to admit though, even if their songs weren't in her alley, she did decide that none of them weren't bad looking at all.

Leaning on one hip while her arms were crossed over her chest, she followed her friends movements everywhere. She ended up dancing at random moments, singing certain lyrics and taking pictures. Atleast the night was almost over. Now they had a meet and greet. Lovely... Once the show was over, they pushed through the crowd to where the ticket guy at the door said to go after the show.

So up the few stairs to the stage, through the back and into the green room they went. They weren't there yet, so Lyndsy took her sweet time taking pictures of everything while the blond stood in the middle of the room. "Guin, at least try to be a little bit lively, you're such a Debbie Downer tonight." Her friend pouted as she lifted the camera and took a picture of her scowling face. Guin smirked at her and shrugged. "Not really a downer. I just didn't have fun, that's all." Taking a few steps around the room, she tapped her fingers against the leather arm of her jacket, taking in the different articles in the room. The furniture, posters and other whatnots they had.

Rick got changed into something more casual and not covered in sweat. The only problem with stage lights was that they were really hot. That, plus the energy they put into their performance, led to some perspiration. Once he felt clean again he left his dressing room and went into the green room. He was the first from the band to arrive. Only two of the people with back stage passes were there. Two girls. One looked like the typical groupie. She was really excited. The other, however, looked like she didn't want to be there. He took a good look at her. She was definitely cute. He wondered how cute she looked when she actually smiled.

He approached the excited girl first with a smile on his face. It was as genuine as he could make it. "Hey, it is nice to meet you. I understand you got these passes by winning a contest. Congratulations." He spent a few moments with her and then went over to her friend. He could guess what she was thinking. "Hi, I'm Rick Willis. So, let me guess. Either this place is not what you expected...or...you really don't want to be here. You know, you're a good friend for tagging along somewhere you would rather not be. And hey, don't worry. I don't take any offence from your attitude. Your music preference is your choice and if our music isn't what you like, I can't force you to be a fan. Well, I hope you find something around here you enjoy." He was distracted as one of his bandmates came up behind him and congratulated him on a good show. He grinned and did the same to his friend. He was quite happy with how everyone had done.

When another person entered the room, Guin's eyes trailed up the newcomer's body. It was definately a male. Her eyes landed on his face and her eyebrow raised slightly. He was definately handsome. Hearing Lyndsy's squeal of excitment, she started to oogle over Rick, too excited to speak just yet. Only light squeaks and eeps were escaping her mouth. Which wasn't too bad...for now. Once he moved infront of her, her eyebrow lifted even more as he spoke.

Atleast he acknowledged the fact that she didn't care for his music and that she was only here for Lydnsy. Giving a small nod, she offered a small smile and opened her mouth to speak until someone came up behind him. Her pale pink lips closed and she looked to the side. It must be a rockstar thing to never really have time to speak to anyone. She didn't know. She wasn't famous at all. Turning her back to him, she wandered around the room, looking at the different objects and whatnot. This would distract her, for now.

"I love your music." She said happily jumping up and down a bit infront of Rick. "Do you write your own songs? How did you learn to play guitar?" And the questions went on and on. This was going to be a long meet and greet. The brunette was trying to get the rock star's attention; she had won the tickets after all. Guinevere picked up a flyer from one of their first small town shows and read over it. That was about a year ago. And now tickets sold like wild fire. It was kind of interesting to see how far they've come. Even if she didn't like their songs. "Interesting..." She put the flyer down and continued to look around.

Rick was soon distracted by a number of people. He had seen a look on the blond girl's face that disappointed him. She seemed to be occupying herself now though. As he talked with his friends and tried to calmly talk with the brunette girl, he found himself looking over at the blond quite often. He did his best to answer the many questions asked of him. He explained that he, Davey, and Stu wrote a lot of the songs and Tyler and Johnny helped on some. He mentioned how Davey had taught him his limited guitar skills. He knew he wasn't a great guitar player. He had a good voice, which was why he was front man. He had been taught guitar to just add a bit more to the sound of the band. It had been the final touch to bring some of the songs up to that higher level. He also told her how they had all met in school when they were younger. Every question she asked he did his best to answer.

When he finally got a break from her and from other distractions he spotted the blond girl again. He felt bad for letting himself get distracted. He went over to her and appoligised right away. "Hey, I'm sorry about before. Got caught up in the excitement. Then, well, I'm sure you could hear your friend. You must be a lot more patient than I am to be able to put up with her. I don't think I'd last a day. I hope she's not like this in her every day life. If she is, I feel sorry for you."

His glances at Guinevere didn't get unnoticed by Lyndsy's keen eyes. She smirked as he spoke to her and answered her multiple questions. Even though she was distracted by multiple things, Guin did hear bits and pieces of the conversation on and off. She learned that his was good friends with this band members and that he didn't really play guitar well. Atleast he answered truthfully and that he didn't parade around lying to boost his ego. When she felt a presence next to her, she looked up and noticed him standing there, apologizing.

"Don't worry about it." She stated, thinking about Lyndsy in their domestic life. "She's not too bad. Right now she's talking a mile a minute because she's excited. Normally she's a little eccentric, but she's a good person. Just a bit messy sometimes and has no problem speaking her mind nor tries to shadow emotions. She's easy to read." Her green eyes continued to look at the things infront of her, she only glanced at him from the corner of her eye as she spoke and a small smirk formed on her lips. "Its okay, you'll only have to deal with her for the next twenty minutes or so. Then we'll leave and you can enjoy the peace and quiet." It was then that she actually looked up at him, her eyes searched his blue eyes that seemed to always get the girls and blinked before looking away.

Rick was really happy and relieved that she wasn't annoyed or upset that he had kinda ditched her before. She really caught his interest because she was so different from a lot of the women he was used to meeting recently. When she spoke he liked the tone of her voice and just the way she spoke. He chuckled at her comment, but hoped she and her friend might stick around a little longer. He found himself wanting to talk with her more and learn about her. It was as if her not caring about his fame made her that much more interesting and attractive to him.

Their eyes met and he was struck by the beauty. He smiled at her warmly. When she looked away he was disappointed. He shifted a little as he stood there and then decided to try to learn a little about her. He went with a more obvious question at first. "So, what sort of music is it that you enjoy? Any particular genre or style? Or is it just certain artists and bands that you like?"

She looked over at her friend who was talking to the rest of his band. Why was he so interested in talking to her? She barely even wanted to be here. Licking her dry lips, she then swallowed and looked back to him. It wasn't polite to hold a conversation with someone and not look at them. She was used to looking at people when she spoke. Their facial expressions were interesting to her and it told her what they were really thinking, other than the look in their eyes. "Depending on the mood I'm in." She stated nonchalantly.

She wasnt' one to listen to a lot of rap music. The bass pounding always seemed to give her a headache. Certain rock bands did hold her attention, their lyrics spoke to her. As if they were writing everything on paper and created a melody. Their feelings being sung acrossed the nation. "I like different artists and genres. My iPod has singers from Bruce Springsteen to Flyleaf and Mozart to The Beatles." It was true. She had grew up listening to Tom Petty, the Beatles and certain other rock bands at the time. And as she grew older, she leaned toward listening to popular bands from the radio and friends. "So you can say I'm interested in a broad range of different music." Her shoulders moved up into a shrug. "Well rounded, one would say."

Rick was happy to learn more about her taste in music. He didn't interupt at all as she explained what she liked. He smiled and nodded. "Sounds good. Definitely well rounded. You have a good taste in music." He quickly checked the time and then looked back at her. "It has been nice being able to talk to you a little. I have to meet with a record label exec in a few minutes. They hate it when I keep them waiting. They want to discuss the new record. I think they are worried we went a little too deep in some of our songs. They seem to want us to pump out commercial junk that will guarantee record sales. They made us do some of that with the first record, and then put all those songs in radio stations. I need to make sure they let up keep this new record the way we want it, with all of our music. Anyway, sorry for that little rant. I hope you enjoy the rest of your time here and hae a nice trip home." He smiled at her and then left, reluctantly heading toward one of the other rooms.

When he met with the guy from the record label he had been right. He started to argue with him, but found himself thinking about the girl he had been talking with. He wished he had asked her name. He also wished there was some way he could meet her again. That was highly unlikely though. Mostly because he could tell she really wasn't much of a fan. He got distracted a few times because of thinking about her, but eventually he made a clear enough argument to the exec to make him agree not to change anything on their new record.

Guinevere gave a slight nod at his sudden need to leave. It wasn't his fault. He had things to do. After about five minutes, she was finally able to get Lydnsy to leave. After a few autographs and pictures, of course. As the brunette excitedly waved good-bye, the blonde was practically dragging her out of the room. "Come on, they're probably tired." Lyndsy sighed sadly and pouted her lip out a bit. It would of been cute if Guin wasn't so used to it by now. "Rockstars sleep too you know." She smiled and put her hands on her hips, trying to convince her friend to stop being so unreasonable. There was a small sigh. "You're right," she trudged on passed her. "Let's go.."

On their way home, all Guin was able to listen to was the sound of Lyndsy's voice satin how much fun she had and that meeting the band was amazing. "He kept looking at you, too, ya know." This now caught her attention. Guin switched lanes on the highway. "Who?" The brunette smirked evilly. "Rick, duh. When I was talking with him, he would glance over at you. I think he likes you." The taunting tone in her voice was a little annoying while she nudged the drivers arm with her elbow. Guin rolled her eyes as she took the exit. "I don't see why. I'm not technically rock star dating material." Her friend decided to drop the conversation. For now.

When Rick returned to the green room the girls were gone. He felt a little disappointed. He shook it off and just hung out with his friends, letting them know their second record was just as they wanted it. It was a bit of a risk, but they had held focus groups that liked it. A little later they all were driven to the hotel they were staying at for the night. All their bags had been moved from the bus to the hotel. Rick went to bed, looking forward to his vacation that started the next morning.

When he got up late the next morning he went and got breakfast in the hotel restaurant. He then returned to his room and made sure all his things were packed. He had everything he needed for his vacation. The rest of the band were preparing for their own time off. Everyone had their own different plans. They were really good friends, but they really needed a break from one another. After some goodbyes they all parted ways. Rick packed his things into a car he had rented for a month. He then drove toward his vacation destination.

He had his vacation planned for a quiet little neighborhood in a town not far from the stadium. Rather than live in a hotel for a month he had rented an apartment, fully furnished, for a month. He wanted it to be like normal living on his own. He would do everything himself. It would be a nice quiet time. He could practice his guitar and play the instrument he had in the second case. It looked a little battered, but that was because of how long he had owned it and how many places he had taken it. He was looking forward to a lot of different things. First on his list was simply sleeping for a day or two and regaining energy.

After they got home, Lyndsy went online to blog about her wonderful, one in a million experience. Her excitement was still radiating off of her in waves. It should calm down in a day or two. Guin, how ever, went to her room, stripped down and put on pajamas. Since it was a weekend, she didn't have to worry about doing any school work atleast until tomorrow. Crawling into her bed, she pulled the blankets over her and slowly drifted to sleep.

The next two days were pretty much normal. Lyndsy started making a mess and painting, attending her three classes a week and enlightening Guin's life with her bubbly personality. Everything was basically back to normal. Well, as normal as it could get. It was early evening and the blonde was walking down the marble hallway to their apartment door. Her heels were clicking with her long strides. It was then, she heard music coming from an apartment. 'Please don't be ours...please don't be ours..' With a plastic bag in one hand and her books in the other, she stopped infront of their door and opened it. The music inside got louder. Practically running inside, she dropped her things on the kitchen counter and ran to turn the music off. Luckily enough, she was blessed with listening to Rick's band's cd.

Upon hearing the music die, Lyndsy went I to the living room to check what happened. She had paint all over her. It wasn't a new sight for her. "Hey, why did you turn that off?" Guin put her hands on her lean hips and looked at her through her glasses. "It was too loud. And you know I don't like them." The girl sighed and stomped back to her room. "Fine, I have another copy in my room. I'll play it in there." Hopefully it wouldn't be as loud. Now it was time to start dinner.

Rick slept the rest of that day in his apartment. The next day he slept well past noon. When he woke up he was quite hungry. He didn't feel as energetic as he had hoped. He figured it was because he had been sleeping too much. He got dressed in some clean clothes and went to the nearest grocery store to get some food. After he got back to his apartment he went about making himself a nice large meal. After eating he felt a lot better. He went and got some exercise and then had a nice long shower in his new bathroom. The apartment was not like anything he was used to before, but he liked it. He wanted a break from what he was used to.

The next hour he spent making some phone calls to contacts he had been given. He talked with a few different people about possibilities. He confirmed a few things and then smiled. He was surprised when he heard some loud music start playing in the building. It was coming from the floor under him. It was even more surprising that it was his own CD playing. Clearly the person was a fan. He didn't bother trying to get them to turn it down. He sat in his livingroom relaxing for a while.

A while later he heard the music stop abruptly below him. Someone must have made the person stop playing it so loud. He thought about what to do with his time and he decided to practice his guitar playing. He went and grabbed his guitar case and another case that contained all his sheet music. He also brought out a music stand. He sat in his livingroom and tuned his guitar. He pulled out a book of classic rock sheet music for guitar and he started to play. He sang along with the songs, but not too loudly. He didn't want to hurt his vocal chords. He didn't really think about how loud he was playing his guitar though. He was just having fun playing some of his favorite songs. He knew he wasn't the best guitar player, but he was still good, mainly because of all the practice he put in.

Lyndsy had her music playing in her room, not too loud though. She didn't want old Blondie to come in and turn it off. Sighing, she stroked the flat edge paint brush against the canvas, thinking. She couldn't forget how Rick looked at Guinevere. Her eyes trailed away from her painting and she put the brush against her chin totally forgetting that there was still purple paint on it. "I wonder..." She thought as she hummed to the tune and put her brush against her painting again. But there was something else, the faint sound of a guitar. She frowned, listening to it. That was weird...

She never heard anyone play guitar up there before. Maybe it was a new visitor. Turning off her music, she put her brush into a cup of water and walked out into the kitchen. The smells of dinner were beginning to form. Looks like they were having chicken Alfredo and garlic bread for dinner. Her stomach rumbled at the thought. She loved Guin's cooking. She was even better than her mother. Licking her lips, she remembered the task at hand.

"Do you hear that?" The blonde frowned and turned her head from stirring the noodles to the girl. "You have paint on your chin..." Lyndsy shook her head, "I can wash that off. But can you hear that? The guitar upstairs?" The girl looked up, listening closely. The soothing sound of plucked strings was heard. "Yeah, so?" Lyndsy sighed. "That means someone moved in up there! We should say hi!" She jumped up and down. Guin went back to cooking. "We meaning you. I'm a little busy at the moment." She opened the preheated oven to put the garlic bread in. "Fine, I'll say hi by myself then." Wiping the half dry paint from her chin, she headed out the door and up the stairs. Guin smiled and shook her head at her best friends actions, sometimes being too much of a people person was going to get that girl into trouble...

Lyndsy jogged up the stairs, following the sweet sound of a guitar. She wondered how long they had been there and why she hadn't noticed before. But then again, she always had music playing. It was then she could hear singing...well...soft singing. She couldn't make out the voice. When she stopped at the door, she knocked on it. Then she realized she didn't have wine or cookies or traditional casserole. Oh no!

Rick continued to play his guitar. He didn't realise that his neighbors downstairs could hear him. He hadn't really planned on meeting the others living in the building. He was only going to be there for a month. He also didn't want to run the risk of someone who was a big fan bothering him for the entire month. While he knew he wasn't globally recognisable, he knew he had fans scattered around in many places.

He heard the knock on his door and set his guitar down. He wondered who it was. He wasn't expecting any visitors. He realised it might be a neighbor asking him to be quieter. He got up from the couch and went toward the door. When he got to the door he picked up a hat and pair of sunglasses, putting them on quickly. He hoped it would be enough to make sure no one recognised him. He opened the door and smiled. The moment he saw the girl standing there he knew who it was. It completely surprised him. He wasn't sure what to do or what to say. She was one of the last people he expected to be at his door. He really hoped she wasn't there because she knew it was him and he really hoped she didn't recognise him.

When the door opened, Lyndsy looked up only to meet eye-to-eye with a pair of sunglasses. Maybe he was blind...No normal person would wear sunglasses inside. Swallowing, she looked up at him, not recognizing him at all. "Um.." she stuttered out, almost forgetting why she was there for a moment. "Hi, my name's Lyndsy. I live in the apartment right below yours with a friend and I heard you playing guitar. I haven't heard it before and so I figured you just moved in awhile ago, so I wanted to welcome you to the building." She said in a cheery voice. A smile planted on her lips after she spoke. She wasn't sure if he was blind or not, but she knew it wasn't polite to ask when she first met someone who was.

But he did look a bit familiar. Maybe she seen him before but never took mind to it because, well, other people lived in the same building as well. Maybe he was on a different floor. But the girl took pride in getting to know practically everyone in the building. She didn't care if they liked her not, but she wanted to know who was who at least.

Relief washed over him when he noticed she clearly didn't recognise him. He smiled at her as she welcomed him to the building. He happened to notice she had some paint on her. It was clear she was an artist. He found it interesting that she was fine leaving her apartment and meeting someone new with paint on her chin. Still, it just meant she either forgot, or she was fine just being herself in front of others.

He nodded to her. When he spoke he tried to make his voice a little deeper. "Hi, nice to meet you Lyndsy. I'm R...Ryan. I just moved in yesterday. I'm sorry if I was playing too loud. I'll try to keep it quieter next time. Thank you for the welcome. Sorry for the hat and glasses. My ex is a little bit crazy and she has some friends in this area. If they recognise me they will tell her and then I'll have some big problems." He was quite nervous that she wouldn't buy the excuse or that she would recognise his voice. At least he was sure he would look sufficiently nervous about someone recognising him.

Lyndsy looked at him, her head tilting to the side. He was kind of weird. "Its okay," she smiled anyway. As long as he wasn't too creepy. "I understand about crazy exes and all." She chuckled a bit nervously, looking at her reflection in his glasses. "You're not being loud, I enjoy the sound of a guitar playing." There was a brief pause and she rubbed her hands together, getting the access paint off her hands. "I didn't mean to bother you. But I just came up to say hi. I'm sorry I didn't bring you any cookies or casserole. I'm not really a good cook. Guin is though, maybe she'll make some and I'll bring them up to you." With a smile, she took a step backward. An indicator that she was about to leave.

"Nice to meet you, Ryan. If you need anything, we're in the apartment right under you." With that, she waved and said a friendly bye to him before heading down the hall. He seemed nice, and he played his instrument well. At least he'll have friends here in case he needed a cup of sugar or some milk. With a smile, she walked down the stairs and back to their apartment.

Rick could hardly believe his luck. She had bought the story. He was glad as well that she didn't mind the noise. He continued to smile at her, trying to seem friendly. He tried hard not to laugh when she mentioned not bringing anything. She did mention her friend and he could only wonder if it was the same friend from the concert. He waved to her as she started to leave. "Thank you. It was nice meeting you as well. Bye Lyndsy."

The moment she was out of sight he shut the door and pulled off the hat and sunglasses. He plopped down onto the couch and relaxed. He was worried about her knowing who he was, but the idea of seeing her friend again interested him. He thought about telling them the truth if it meant seeing her again, but he eventually decided against it. He was on vacation to get a break. Lyndsy was just too big of a fan and he worried she would tell others and then he wouldn't have a whole lot of peace and quiet. He decided to just continue as planned and hoped she didn't recognise him at any point in time.
