Tellar used to be a village with few problems, Quite and small; that was until few years ago. Now it was a village burdened and troubled by mutant insects. No not the small swarms of them, they were large, many sizes of horses and grown men. Somethin changed, the local elder thinks Mother Nature is trying to claim the land that belonged to her. trying to chase away the ever expanding human race before they grew out of hand.
Lately what had troubled them was a Large Grasshopper or two. which would flock in ever couple days, feasting on their crops. And the Insect wasn't to particular on what crop it was. Corn, wheat, flax, their field berries and occasionally the fruit trees and ground based crops.
Spring was upon them, and with the growing temperatures summer was soon to follow. This year the weather provided ample amounts of rain, keeping the crops healthy anf full, sprouting to their full potential. That would be if the pesk of the year would leave them be. Normally striking when many are asleep, feasting and a chunk of the crops and disappearing come early morning when the farmers awaken for the day.
Nevaeh had told them they should gather what they could before the days end. Limiting the amount that was eaten. But no one seemed to listen to her. Was it because she was young? Because she was inexpeiernced? Shaking her head she would never understand the farmers when it was so blantly that the Grasshopper came when all are asleep. Eat its fill and return few days later.
With a Sigh Nevaeh brushed aside he long dark brown locks as she made her way through the field that the critter had feasted on, a few days prior. coming out into the clear patch where the thing had feasted. Finding halved stalks even remains of past meals. As her eyes sweept through the area she noted the woods, lined with reminants of its feast along the winding path into the mountains.
Glancing over her shoulder she pressed on retrieving a small dagger from her sash around her slender waist. her tunic based dress clinging to her young suple form. Standing about 5'3 weighing no more then 110 pounds.
The sun was setting behind her, painting the sky different shades of red, pink orange, yells, where to higher up was p[urples and blues as the night was taking over. casting shadows slowly across the land. Her heart began to thud, she offered to go into the forest this night to stop the creature. The tried to stop her of course saying its not in her place as a woman to put herseld in danger. She didnt care, they weren't doing anything to stop the creature. There for she was taking matters into her own hands. Sacrificing herself to try stopping the creature.
Slowly she pressed into the dimly lit forest her green eyes scanning, searching for the creature who must be waiting for his or her time to strike the field. Her small pink tongue darted along her lips as she moisten them. Aditedly she was nervous. she had rights to. There was alot more dangerous things in this woods then just a grasshopper.
