Mira stood there her mahogany hair pulled up into a bun and a secretary suit on. She had just bought a new one and she started regretting it. She had gone down a size and made the out fit shorter to boost her self esteem in celebration of the weight she'd lost her body now healthy and fit. Her stature stood at 5'4'' and she had longer legs but a short torso. Her body was not a bad find but in this world not exactly your super model type.

She liked the way her body looked, when it was covered up that is. She nit picked the little fat she had left on her stomach her breasts smaller than they were in the past and her butt, a heart shaped ass which she thought was still too big in her tight skirt.

Letting out a sigh she slipped on her new kitten pumps and left her room facing the new day in her new outfit unsure of how things would come. Walking down the street she noticed a male or two glancing at her, nothing too new but enough to give her a boost. She felt a little more confident as she walked calling a taxi cab and climbing in to go to work.

Spouting off the co-ordinats she checked her bag to make sure all her paper work was ready and after having the man stop at a coffee shop on an urge she quickly drank her coffee as she walked into the large building. After work she changed into her spare set of cloths trying to unwind from her day, having the driver take her into the suburbs she went further and further out until side walks became gravel then dirt as they turned into nothing but trails as they stretched into the wilderness.

A bad day like today would normally have her heading to the hot springs a mile or so down the mountain path but she felt more explorative and took the lesser worn path. She wandered aimlessly for hours letting the light slip away not thinking about her return. However as she became entangled in a bush she realized the path she had gone on was difficult more so because it was an animal made trail, not human as she'd been thinking. She also realized she had maybe half an hour before dusk hit leaving her in nothing but darkness.

Panic struck her as she wheeled around dashing rampantly through bushes and past trees desperate to get back stumbling and tripping getting herself lost further un-knowingly until finally she tripped and lay there thinking as she looked up in the trees the weird glints of animals eyes all around her an abandoned tattered web way up high giving her a sense of creepy crawlies as she sat catching her breath.

IT was bored. There are more than one of them, of course, but they rarely interact with each other. And being what they are, during their first few centuries of existence they will be bored. They have no idea what is out there till they do something or finally notice some things out there can be played with. It was only little less than a century ago it discovered sentient life other than itself existed. This other life was nothing like it, so it initially failed to notice their existence. Then, a little more than 10 years ago, it learned it can blend its surroundings into the ones it was observing. After some thinking and a few years later, it decided to conduct an experiment.

For the past year, it just looked and observed them. Finding it can read their minds and in a way feed their emotions, it found itself becoming something it did not knew it could. It became giddy. It did not really care who. Just someone. Looking out it found one that was walking away from the others. One thing that confused it was there are two types. The ‘she’ was the one which more often than not tend to be the lesser in physical aggression. Emotion was what it rather care about. Maybe later it will get a ‘he’. Following her, it noted her mind was aimless. And she started to panic. Good. Perhaps she will be a good ‘plaything’. A year was certainly not enough to study these beings, but it had plenty of time.

The blending of reality went smoothly. She was put into its little realm by copying the general appearance. She started to panic. And the fear came from the potential threat of creatures and... spider web? Hrmph. They were more boring that these beings. It was itching to feed off the emotions, but it also wanted to get to know this test subject. And while it was uncertain it studied these beings long enough, it wanted to at least challenge itself.

As Mira was on the ground after tripping, she heard a man’s voice behind her. “Hello?” He sounded confused, uncertain, yet anxious. He was staring at her with a smile on his face, and his arms around him as though feeling himself. While he slowly approached her, not saying much else, sounds of wolves at the distance mixed with closer sounds of what might be bugs and other insects running on the ground or buzzing near by. As the man came better into view, he was plain looking. Dark brown hair, blue eyes, t-shirt, and khakis. His head stretched out as far as his neck will allow, he asks softly in a curious tone, “What are you?”

Blinking looking up at the owner of the voice that rang through out her she pulled herself up withdrawing from the mans grasp. "I'm Mira, and who are you?" She asked assuming the man had meant to say 'who' not 'what'. "I'm on my way back into town I have my... husband... waiting... for me." She said rushing only pausing as she thought for a second as she thought up of a lie so the stranger wouldn't realize she was lost and completely alone no one knowing where she was or where she was heading.

Looking around trying to listen for the wolf's cry again she hid her looks of worry and terror. She fully turned her back on the man before asking him, "I think I've wandered from the path a little I got spooked earlier and wasn't paying attention, can you tell me where I need to go to get back towards the city?" She asked her voice slightly forced as she tried not to think about how eerie it was with the darkness settling and all the creatures that were about. Her body shook slightly and she wished she were home and safe without any worries other than what to wear to work. Work! She thought to herself remembering she wasn't going to be going in for three days causing her to panic more because it would be that much longer before anyone would realize she was gone.
