Kathrine Thorn was one of the best journalists out there; she was always the first to report a story for the newspaper she worked for in the local town. She always scraped up details no one else could and was always at the top of her game. Her sharp nose could easily sniff out a story and once she found one she wouldn't stop pursuing it until she uncovered every little fine detail about it.
Currently she had now driven out to what would seem like the middle of nowhere in her small silver car. She flipped aside some of her straight, dark brown hair that only fell to a couple inches below her shoulders. Her sharp green eyes scanned the area about her where she had pulled her car off onto the side of the road. She was currently chasing after a new story she happened to stumble upon and this one had definately piqued her curiousity.
This story was of a scientist that worked in secret with strange experiments. No one really knew what he was ever up to, nor what his experiments were. All anyone really knew was that some of them were scary and those that had some sort of idea never talked much of them.
So now Kathrine was here to figure it out. What had them so scared? Truly it couldn't be anything that bad, or so she kept telling herself. She kept saying it wasn't anything bad as she neared the large building that was identified as being on of the scientist's; it looked much like a huge greenhouse. Due to the sun having set and the moon already in the sky, she couldn't see what was inside from the distance she was at. But she already knew she'd have to get close. Very close. She had dressed herself in a black shirt and dark pants for a reason.
She crept through the undergrowth of the forest that surrounded the building; whatever this scientist was up to, he was definately very secretive about it. She didn't know if anyone was inside, but since she couldn't see any lights on, she assumed not. Eventually she had snuck her way towards the back door where she rested her hand on the handle, her heart pounding rapidly. Her doubts were beginning to come to mind. What if she got hurt? What if she really didn't want to know what this crazy scientist was up to? But...she couldn't back away now. Her curiousity got the better of her, as always, and she found the door to be unlocked as she opened it. Thankfully it didn't squeak.
Kathrine's heart was still pounding rapidly as she silently shut the door behind her, her eyes wide as she allowed them to adjust to the darkness. She tried to control her breathing as she began creeping forward, looking for anything she could add to this scientist story.
