The sky had been clear all day, during one of the hottest days of summer even. The clouds had simply blown in like a dark blanket over the sun, it was a weather forecast that no one had predicted, and there was something strange about how quickly it had happened caused such an uproar with the news and local meteorology society. Several groups where out, equipment humming and computer monitors alight with activity as they documented the freak storm.
Seth was among the many who had gathered to see what would happen. He was only a boy in high school, no older then maybe sixteen or seventeen, and unlike the rest of the groups here, he was here on his own accounts. His dark eyes stared unblinking at his laptop that rested in his lap. The socially awkward teen was fascinated with these sort of things. Mother nature was simply the only girl he really understood and "talked" to even.
"This is amazing," he said as the small instruments around him, mostly homemade devices, where going off like smoke alarms as his computer calculated the data. This was going to to get very active soon, as his data showed this was going to become a thunder storm. Luckily he was beneath a small canopy, so the rain simply battered at the material, and did not hinder his work in the slightest. Suddenly as if on cue a single lance of lightning broke the calmness, the flash of energy cutting into the dark curtian like a dagger, and some moments later followed a loud boom.
