Where was she? The space around her was dark and inky blue. Large, white looming walls blocked some many of the directions she wanted to go. Her heart, at least what she assumed was this form’s heart, beat wildly in her chest. The gentle pulse of her body was getting fainter. She needed to return to it. She needed to get back before anyone found the shell and assumed she had died or was in a coma. This was like a maze and entirely not the way it was only a moment ago.

Madison Valentine had only been at this for a short period of time, willingly at any rate. It had been only within the last month that she had realized her dream walking for what it was. Instead of bulking away from such a thing like most would have she embraced it. These sorts of things were meant to be explore and, frankly, such an uncharted and strange frontier called to an adventurous nature that she was unaware of. This, however, was completely unlike anything she had read. It was hard to remained focus on anything. Panic seized her heart and wrung it like a dirty washcloth.

Quietly her feet padded against a floor that just wasn’t there. Cool air felt as if it were blowing between her toes. The marble walls loomed higher and higher with each second. There was a moment that she thought she would be able to scale them but they shot up into infinity it seemed. Pale lavender eyes looked upward. Dark indigo clouds swirled far above her and a frown pressed against her full lips. Chocolate brown waves billowed around her with every movement. In that realm she was far more beautiful than in the physical realm. This was what her true self was like; what her soul appeared like to others. A white light radiated a fraction of an inch from her body but did nothing to light her way. All it did was make her stand out all of the more.

At that point she felt like a beacon to others and she did not like that one bit. What Madison had learned on her trips out was that certain astral beings found a soul still fettered to a body rather interesting. Some even intended to take her body. Or so she thought that was what they wanted. Once or twice she had to push through them just to get back.

The Ether was whimsical to her, and there were infinite possibilities. It bent to her will, like a thought. This was her place, her home, her playground and she was bored. Even though time had no meaning in a place such as this, she had spent an eternity here already. The things imaginable had already been done, and alone, unimaginable things could not be conceived. Rosetta sighed as she fell backwards, the ether shifting and changing to softness that caught her. She lay back, naked and alone, wondering what would break the monotony of infinite possibility.

As she considered the ideas, a sensation washed over her flesh. It was odd, gentle, warm, yet completely alien. Whatever it was, it did not belong here, though that did nothing but pique her curiosity. Rosetta sat up from the ambiguous bed that she had been laying upon and looked about, as if whatever had radiated the sensation would be very close. She knew though, that it could be an untold distance to whatever it was, but that did not dissuade her. If anything it drove her onward.

She rose to her feet, and began to walk, her nose to the air, as it were, as if she were sniffing out the intruder. More than anything, she was feeling the flow of power, waiting for the disruption to come again. And there it was, like a warm breeze, followed by a sheet of ice. It sent goosebumps all over her body. She bit her lip and grinned, slightly fanged teeth exposed. This was interesting... something new. She didn't think there was anything new.

Following the alien disturbance, Rosetta spotted, what could only be described as a light. It was far off, but Rosetta had seen such things before. Dreamers, from the mortal world. They were usually unaware of their presence here, and went unnoticed by the denizens of the astral plane. This one though, they were aware. This presented a grand opportunity for Rosetta. She smiled and began to walk, seemingly slow, but stunningly fast, she closed the distance quickly.

Once closer, she saw that it was a woman. Stunningly beautiful, she could feel a flush through her skin. A long, thick shaft between her legs began to grow as her arousal stirred. She licked her lips and ran her fingers up her body, to her nipple. This would be fun, she thought. She closed in, and began to whisper sweet nothings, echoing around the girl from the mortal world. Sweet promises of incredible pleasures and unbelievable ecstasy, till she was within sight of the girl. "My, my... what have we here? An intruder upon my home, is it?" She asked, her voice like spun silk and music.

Madison jumped at the sound of the voice. The aura around her flared brighter for a moment in her fear. The beings lingering in the shadows of the walls moved a little bit closer but dared not venture further than that. Normally they would claw at her and jump at her but something was stopping them. The whispers spoke of pleasures higher than any she could possibly imagine and this frightened her. For a girl who had spent all of her time with her nose into her books, she never really experienced much of the carnal pleasures her college roommates seemed to delight in.

Quickly she turned to face the being that had approached her. Pale eyes widened at the sight before her. A rather buxom being with horns, blackish skin, and a rather large protrusion growing between her legs was standing beside her. The color rose to her cheeks and she backed away.

“Excuse me,” she said in a small voice. “I didn’t mean to intrude on your home. I am just lost. This place is rather expansive.”

She squirmed where she stood and her eyes darted about. She did not want to look at the body before her. It was tempting; something that a repressed young girl would think about in fevered dreams, but she needed to get back into her body.

Rosetta tilted her head to the side as her eyes hungrily roamed over the mortal's body. A thousand temptations rang out like beacons to her. She wanted to tear this thing apart, yet she wanted to possess her, not spiritually, but have her and own her and pleasure her. She wanted this thing to be her pet, her possession, to do as she said, and please her in return. Rosetta smiled at the mortal's answer and couldn't repress an amused giggle. "That would be an understatement, and it is impossible to be lost, when there is nowhere to be." She smiled as she circled around the Mortal.

"Everything and nothing, everywhere and nowhere, that is what this is." She said, licking her lips slowly. She reached out and wrapped her arms around the mortal's hips, pulling her body against her own. "Now, who might you be, so bright and alluring and delicious looking?" She whispered, the faint sound of her voice holding promises that one could not dare to hope for.

A frown tugged at the corners of her mouth. Everywhere and nowhere, huh? All she knew was that she had walked so very far that evening and that she needed to return to her body. The Astral twisted and bent all around her. This was certainly no place for a mortal will little understanding of the land in which she strode. She had not heeded the warnings all of the books she had looked in to gave her. Instead she had to push the envelope and press further on with just walking. Inwardly she chastised herself for it. Her eagerness had gotten her into a fine mess!

When the arms wrapped around her waist she pulled way, shaking her head. Above them the sky swirled from its inky black to a reddish greenish haze of clouds. “Listen. I am not interested in that sort of thing. All I want to know is how to morph these walls. I haven’t been able to shift them or anything.” She slapped at the hands that had clenched at her hips just to establish that she did not want that sort of touch. Though, really, she had a hard time with it.

At the start of that night’s adventure she had not run into much trouble at all forming things and shifting things about. However the further she got away from where she knew her body to lie, the less power she seemed to have. She was more experienced than most humans but she was nowhere near being a master of the power of her mind.

“Could you help me?”

The mortal seemed to reject Rosetta's touch, and she couldn't help but frown and pout. That wasn't a good thing, this thing was to be hers. She tilted her head to the other side, looking slightly less amused than she had a moment ago. The thing wanted to know how to change the world around them? Rosetta raised a brow and with a thought, the mist that surrounded them shifted quickly. It all took form, changing into walls and floor and ceiling. Where a moment ago there was nothing, now there was an opulent ballroom, empty of any person but the two of them.

A smile played across Rosetta's lips and music began to play, "This you can not do?" She asked, as she slowly danced around the mortal. She laughed, "This is but nothing, as anything is possible. Anything the mind can conceive can happen here... can it not in the mortal realms?" She asked, once again tilting her head to the side in curiosity. What an odd place that would be, where things were static and unchanging. She's seen snippets of the mortal world before, and everything already had a shape... she had always thought that it was someone's doing, but if it was always like that, it would be boring indeed.

She stopped for a moment, behind the mortal, and smiled slowly. The ballroom around them faded away into the ether again, and Rosetta's arms slid like serpents around the young woman once more, her body pressing up against the mortal's back this time. "I could show you how to shape this world... for a price..." She whispered.

All at once the mist around her formed and took shape. Where once was nothing but looming maze walls was now a ballroom that was fit for Cinderella. As she turned to look at everything the pure white sleeping gown she was wearing spun around her and her hair fluttered around in a flurry of chocolate waves. This was amazing! What sort of things could a world like this be hiding? What sort of gems could be created?! Her heart raced with the sheer thought of it all and, for a moment, she had forgotten completely about the menacing native that had switched the scenery in the first place.

“Oh no. Everything in my world is very still. Nothing ever morphs… at least not to this degree.” The young woman smiled. “Of course there are minor things that change but this is extraordinary! I… “

There was an awkward pause as a hardness pressed against her back. Everything in her tensed and fear pulsed through her. Did she not like where the dark being was taking things.

“I told you before not to touch me; I am not interested in that sort of thing!” She exclaimed. The room around them dissolved once more into the inky darkness that she had been lost in. “I think I can find my own way!”

She managed to break free of the grip of the truly beastly creature. In an instant she was running as fast as her legs could carry her through the odd mists. She did not know which way to go. She did not know where she was. All she could think about was getting back. As she passed by them, claws raked at her flesh and tore at her nightgown.

Again, the Mortal rebuffed her, and Rosetta was not pleased. Not pleased at all. She watched as the young woman turned and fled, mist and nothingness swirling around her as she ran. Rosetta tilted her head as she wondered where she hoped to run too. There was nowhere to go, and nothing to hide in. Any form in this world would be an indication of her presence, and the light that she radiated was like a beacon for Rosetta. She could feel her presence even now as she ran, perhaps more so than a few moments before when she was calm.

Rosetta knew that she would have to give chase. There was no other option. This thing was hers, and she wasn't going to let anything else have it. She wanted it, she desired it, she lusted for it. She would have it. She struck out, following the path that the Mortal had set. It was as if a bull had charged through a forest, leaving a trail of destruction in it's wake. The trail was easy to follow, though Rosetta didn't take a slow pace.

Time had no meaning in this place, so any wasted moment, could mean ages of extra effort added to a single task. Rosetta sped along after the Mortal, ever keeping her presence in clear sight. She knew she wasn't far, she knew that if she truly wanted she could catch up quickly. The chase itself was enjoyable though, it was different, it was new. It was something that she could not have done on her own, and she wished to relish it while it lasted. She knew that once she grew bored then she would end the chance and take the Mortal, but for now, she just wanted to enjoy it.

It seemed this threat brought out her natural abilities to control the world around her. As Madison darted through the astral the world behind took shape and form. Jagged rocks on considerable height blocked the path she had taken and small, painful bits of stone littered around them.

She blessed the fact that she did not need to breathe there or that her feet did not get tired. Though her mind was becoming weary; a strange pulse went through her astral form. One that made her flicker for a moment and pause in her running. There was something wrong with her body! Nervousness traveled through her and she began to run again, faster this time.

“This isn’t good!” she exclaimed to herself. “I need to get back to my physical form!”

Whatever was happening with her had left her feeling ill and disconnected. For a moment she had forgotten about the beast that intended to keep her as a pet. All she could think about was getting back to her body. It would be possible, too. In her mind she imagined a door and there it appeared before her. She opened it with enthusiasm and entered.

This would be the path that lead her back to the waking world.

What she saw, however, made her frown. This… this was a maze! Large stone walls encased narrow paths and cobblestone walkways. The roof above her head was also stone. The only light was coming from her.

“Shit!”
