Samantha hadn't wanted it to, but it did hurt. Both of them, though she figured he was probably feeling worse right now. She really had tried her best to explain that it wasn't him, that he hadn't 'turned' her into a lesbian. She hoped he'd feel better about it when he had time to settle down and realize that this hadn't been working out, regardless of whether she liked guys. He'd stormed out last night with a few of his things under his arms, but a lot of his clothes and the like were still there.
That morning, he had texted her with a very curt message, just saying that he'd be there to pick up his things in a few hours. She'd collected up the most obvious things and set them near the door; she didn't feel like being around him any more than she guessed he felt like being around her. After showering, she sat down on the sofa to watch some TV. She'd dressed plainly, in a light tee shirt and jeans, in case he would want her to carry anything. While she sat and let her short red hair dry, she wasn't really paying much attention to the TV--her mind was preoccupied with how her ex-boyfriend might react when he came back.
Hearing the knock on the door, she got up from her seat and walked over to the door of the apartment. It was just who she'd expected when she opened the door, and her expression stayed nearly blank. "Hey," was all she said, quietly, opening the door further and stepping back to let him in.
