Long, long ago, before the birth of this world, there was a time of darkness...
In every creation story, there is an all-powerful being or beings that separates light from dark, forms the rivers and oceans, and brings to life the first man and woman. In this setting, seven beings of power have awakened and the need to create is strong within them.
Name
Worldcraft
Basic Summary
The role-players involved will have their hands in the very formation of the world. Play will begin with a blank slate; a blue-marble with nothing significant about it. The Ancients will then take turns, bringing up continents, depositing rivers and streams, and populating the world with their creations.
Genre
Collaborative world building.
PN Level
Zero. There is nothing on this world to hone paranormal powers until the Ancients decree it. Ancients, themselves, have infinite control over their own powers. PN level will change as the world progresses through its different ages.
Tech Level
Again, zero. Technology is the work of man.
Population
Zero.
Notable Locations
A little blue marble residing comfortably distant from a nearby sun.
Notable Persons
The Ancients.
Advanced Summary
Players submit in an OOC board as to what they want to accomplish with their current action. This is typically rather basic, like "I want to create a mountain range along this coast" or "I want to turn this area into swampland". Once approved, the player is allowed to post to their heart's content.
If the player making the mountain range wants to describe normal critters that inhabit that mountain, then great; he can go off and make an aside about moss rams and foxhawks.
If the player making the swampland wants to describe flora of her marshy lands, that's also great; she can go off and make an aside about ram's moss and foxglove flowers.
If one of these players gets out of hand and does something that the game master (GM) doesn't agree with, the GM will politely ask that the player remove certain parts of the post. This shouldn't be too much of a concern, as territorial flora and fauna won't come into conflict with other species. Or rather, they shouldn't. If the mountain guy wants to have a big dragon in his rocks, then he can do that, as long as the GM permits. That dragon will be snoozing for quite some time before demigods, avatars, or humans come of age.
Authorization Level
Invite Only
There's more to come! This isn't done!
