He watched her from across the street, her curtains pulled open and framing her beautiful form as she prepared herself for bed. Obvious to the pair of yellow eyes that tracked her every movement she seemed so innocent, so pure, like a ray of sunlight in the darkness. To a creature such as himself she was a work of art.
Shrouded in darkness he stood on the rooftop of the building across the street. He had been there for hours, unmoving, never taking his eyes off of her as he planned his next move carefully. Even now the urge to break through her window and bite into her neck, he could see it from here as precious lifeblood pumped through it, and devour her. But no, he could not fall prey to his own base instincts. This woman was to be the savior of his race, even if she didn't know it.
But he would ensure it, even if he had to drag her kicking and screaming into the abyss.
With a single step he fell from the roof, falling several stories only to land gracefully on his feet unarmed. As he fell into the shadows once more he licked his lips, thinking to himself "Though one little bite wouldn't hurt..."
