The hallway was a buzz, kids talking back and forth saying there good byes.. Empty lockers slamming close for the last time this school year.

"Hay! Hay Ashley wait up!" As Ashley turned around she saw her friend Becky Sue running after her. "Hay, my mom said I could sleep over this weekend." Becky said out of breath as she caught up with her friend. "Did you hear about that party that Jenny is having? What do you say we crash it?" Becky giggled.
.
"Naa I have to baby sit my little sister or did you forget?" Ashley said. "And besides I don't feel like going to another one of Jenny's parties"
"Why not? She always has lots of boys at her parties."
"Yeah I know, and that's exactly why I don't want to go. I always feel like a damn wall flower. While all the guys are talking and mingling with all the other girls they treat me like I have the plague or something."
Becky frowned, "Guys are stupid. I don't understand them your gorgeous. I don't understand why no one every asks you out."
Shrugging, " I don't care." Ashley said, trying to sound indifferent.
"My brother says that his friends don't ask you out cause there all afraid of you."
"hahaha, Yeah right... like I'm going to bite them."
"Don't laugh. He says they all think your to pretty. And that you would never go out with one of them. And if you did you would brake there hearts." Becky said, as they walked from the school.
"Yeah right! What ever you say." Ashley scoffed.

"Hay wait! I got an idea." Becky said all excited. "I'll met you at your house in an hour." And took off in the direction of her house, leaving Ashley to look after her friend and wonder what she was up to.

An hour later Ashley was up in her room when Becky walked through her door grinning from ear to ear holding a piece of paper in her hand.
"I have the answer to all your problems." Becky said waving the paper back and forth.
"Problems? What problem? I wasn't aware I had a problem." Ashley said.
"Your problem with guys silly.. You want a date don't you?"
"What? A date? What makes you think I want a date?"
"Of course you do.. have you ever even been on a date?"
"Well.. yeah of course I have... Doesn't my cousin count?" Ashley laughed. "Ok, so whats this great idea you have?"

"A personal ad on the internet ." Becky told her.
"Are you crazy ? Only losers take out an ad on the internet." Ashley said.
"No they don't.. come on sit down," Becky patted the seat next to her by the computer. "What do you have to lose? Here, I"ve even wrote an ad up for you."
Reluctantly Ashley sat down and took the paper with the ad written out from her friend. "Ohh I don't know Becky. Look you made a mistake. You wrote that I was 18."
"So, your looking for collage guys right? Well do you think any collage guys would go out with a 16 year old high school student?"
"Well I don't like the idea of lying about my age."
"Look it's only for the ad.. and look if you met someone you really like you can always tell them it was a misprint. Come on give it a try. It'll be fun"
"Oh My god ! Becky! look at this.. you said i was a collage student home for the summer!"
"Yeah.. So?.. You are a student.. and you are out for the summer."
"Yeah a high school student!" Reluctantly Ashley took the ad from her friend.

After about 10 minutes , with some added nudging by Becky, Ashley had retyped the ad on one of the local dating sites and added a recent picture and hit send.
"Ok now what do we do?" Ashley asked.
"We sit back and wait" Becky said.

That was on Wednesday night.. By Friday Ashley had pretty much forgotten about the ad she had placed just two days before. Forgotten until Becky showed up ready to spend the night.

Within the two days that the ad had been online, there were already four requests to meet with her and half a dozen others who just wanted to talk, or go too far too fast. The four guys had left links to profiles of their own for her to see, hoping to win her over from the other hordes of guys that were starting to line up just to see if she was the real deal or not.

The first guy to have found her was the one who left the first link, within an hour of hers being put up. Andrew was his name. It seemed he had just started college, majoring in biology, studying to become a scientist, but he didn't appear to be social active, since he admitted that he didn't know much about the bar or club scene, and had rambled a bit about his schedule so he was probably shy too on top of things.

After him was Christopher. He had sent his link to her a few minutes after Andrew did. He seemed to like the leather jacket look, and the look on his profile's picture made it seem like he was a bit of a bad boy. He didn't mention anything about his studies, but did have some pictures of a few cars that he said he worked on, so he was probably a mechanic or a gear head. While he kept quiet about his social life, he did promise a special night to anyone who wanted to give him a shot.

William was next to respond, Thursday afternoon. He had seemed to be the most polite on his profile, words well typed and grammar was nearly flawless. He admit that he was studying to be a lawyer, and that he was looking for a relationship to help keep his goals in perspective, to not become the money-grubbing kind of lawyer, but the kind that was there when people need it... rare if there ever was a word. He had admit that he had tried the bar scene, but couldn't find a girl that he wanted to hold on to, or even stay attracted to for longer than a week.

Lastly, there was Johnathan, and he was something else. He had barely described himself and instead of what he was into, there was a list of clubs and bars where you could find him. Clearly he was a party animal, and just wanted a girl to take out and have fun. He had dozens of pictures of himself, several of them without a shirt on, but every one seemed to be on a dance floor or with a drink in his hand.

"Sooo? How did the ad go?" Becky said as she got comfortable.
"Ad? Oh the one for the dating site. I don't know I haven't checked."
"Well what the hell are you waiting for.. come on.. "

Ashley walked over to the computer and turned it on.. after a few moments it hummed and started to power up. As soon as Ashley logged into the site a big green flashing light popped up telling her she had messages.

"Oh my god look at this" she said turning to Becky. Looking over her shoulder Becky gave a little whistle. Ashley have over twenty replies to her ad.

For the rest of the night the girls sorted through all the replies. Sent a few messages back and forth with a couple of the guys .. and before the end of the night Ashley had four dates set up for the coming week.

That night she went to bed more nervous that she could ever remember.. She had gone from a shy 16 year old who never had a date to having four dates lined up with four very handsome men.

Andrew had just gotten off of work for the day, having to pay his way through college, he had taken on a job fixing computer, the pay was decent enough for him to live alone, and he was able to keep himself in school as long as things kept getting broken... and since he lived close to campus it happened quite often, so he got a lot of work orders to do. He heaved a sigh as he sat down at his computer, logging on to his usual websites to see what the buzz was and finally stopped on the dating website, reading Ashley's response.

He couldn't believe it, after years of embarrassing himself in front of women to get their attention, a few clicks and he had a date for tomorrow night! He paused again as he memorized the time, sending her a quick response to meet him at a park he knew not far from where it said she lived. He could pick her up, have a nice time and have her home... hopefully before he makes a complete fool of himself. Andrew had never had much luck with women, women his age or with older women... maybe this younger girl could give him a little hope?

The man smiled at his screen for a moment after sending his response, and sat down to relax to a game he played often on his computer for a few minutes. He would have to go to bed early tonight, since he figured he would be too excited tomorrow to sleep right away.

Ashley had been nervously brushing her hair out for the past half hour... She would probably still be brushing it if Becky hadn't stopped her.

"Come on what are you so nervous about?" Becky asked. " He seems like a really nice guy, and you seen his picture he doesn't look like the ax murder type. And you are going to met him out in a public place.. come on it couldn't be safer."

"Alright, I suppose your right." Ashley said. While pulling on her jeans.

A half hour later Ashley walked into the park. Wearing her tight blue jeans and a peach satin blouse which showed off her petite figure. Her long dark brown hair flowed in soft waves down her back.
She walked to the center of the park, next to the duck pond. Sitting on a bench along side the pond was a young man.

"Andrew?" She asked, a soft smile coming to her face.

Andrew had gotten up early so he could be a little more than ready for his date. All the while as he got ready he thought about what exactly they would do today. Idea after idea popped into his head as he finished getting dressed. He wore a pair of loose jeans, fighting the urge to wear something too pushy or formal, and a graphic t-shirt with a NES on it, the words "Classically Trained" printed on it.

He got into his car, a small Civic and drove to the park he would meet her. He figured he was early, since he hadn't seen her yet and decided to sit down on a park bench overlooking a pond. He was watching a few ducks on the water as they cleaned themselves when he heard someone call to him. He smiled at the rather short girl... he wanted to ask if she was really 18, but he supposed she was just short for her age.

"Ashley. Hi, it's nice to meet you." He got up off the park bench smiling at her. He had the urge to shake her hand, but would that be right? He pushed the thought aside as he stuck his hands in his pockets, a nervous tic he never shook off. He smiled as he looked over her for a moment before he finally blurted out something. "Would you like to walk with me for a bit?"

"sure" she said, noticing that he seemed just as nervous as she was.
They walked around the duck pond. At one point they stopped and Ashley pulled out a bag of bread crumbs to feed the ducks.

After about a half hour they seemed to warm up to each other laughing and talking. She asked him about his job fixing computers and she found out that he was still working his way through school. She told him about herself and how her friend had talked her into placing the ad and she was really surprised when someone had answered it. She left out the part where twenty someones had actually answered it.

They stopped at a little ice cream vender and Andrew bought her an ice cream cone.. When it started getting late she told him that she had better be getting home. But when he asked her if she would see him again she gladly accepted.

Andrew smiled warmly when she said she would see him again, and waved lightly as she left, heading back to his car, and going home, very happy that he actually had a good date with a woman. He had thought about messaging her when he got home, but thought it would be better to wait a few days first.

Christopher had gotten home late, he was tired, fed up with his friends at the moment and really needed to let loose for a while. He flopped onto his couch, opening an old laptop and logging into the dating site, hoping that someone decent could help ease his nerves a bit. He stared at the reply that Ashley had sent him, after filing through dozens of responses to him, he was a popular guy, everyone wanted to hang out with a guy in leather, even other guys, but he wasn't interested in that kind of thing.

He thought for a moment to see what he could do with her that night, he didn't have anything planned, so he figured something simple. He sent her a message back saying that he would meet her around noon at a street corner. He had a way of making a damn good impression on a woman, usually though, his impressions weren't worth a damn to any friends she would have. Life of a bad boy usually meant being seen as something much worse. He opened a pack of cigarettes, lit up one for the night before going to bed, looking forward to Monday when he would give her a run for her money, and see if she was the kind of girl he was looking for.

After getting home from her date with Andrew, Ashley was still on a buzz feeling happy that the date went so well.

Before heading to bed she quickly checked her e mails.. and her heart skipped a beat when she noticed she had gotten a response from that cute guy in the leather pants. Oh this could be fun. She thought to her self, as she sent him a message back saying that she would be there tomorrow.
She did think it was rather strange that he would want to met her on a street corner. And when she called Becky and told her about it they both had a good laugh and Becky told her to be careful or she might get arrested for being a street walker.

Monday rolled around quick, and Christopher was getting ready for his date with Ashley, leather clothes, messy hair, the usual look that he wore. He went into his garage, since he owned a small home alone he could do pretty much what he wanted, but he only wanted the place for the garage. He smiled at his pride and joy, a Harley-Davidson that he had restored a couple of years ago. He climbed onto the machine, smiling as he grabbed an extra helmet, leaving his own off so she would recognize him... and checked his watch, he was going to be a bit late... but that was good in this case, she would be able to see this sight first hand.

He started the engine with a roar and tore out of his garage, pulling down the road as he started for the street corner he was going to meet her at. As he expected he arrived a couple of minutes late, smiling at the sight of the girl on the corner, stopping in front of her and giving a rather dangerous look, as if asking if she knew what she was in for, pausing for a moment, not bothering to say anything of the loud purr of the engine, and instead handed her the extra helmet.

Seeing as Christopher didn't give her any idea about there date other then he would meet her at the corner Ashley had no idea what she should wear. So she opted for a pair of white shorts and a light pink tee shirt. She had pulled her long silky hair back into a pony tail tied with a white ribbon.

She had been looking in the other direction when she heard the purr of the Harley pulling up behind her. Turning around she gave Christopher a nervous little smile.
"I've never been on a motorcycle before." she told him as she reached out and took the helmet from him. Christopher had to help her adjust the helmet to her head but once he seemed satisfied that she wasn't going to crack her head open she climbed on the back of his bike.
"So where are we going?"

Christopher smiled, he had barely heard her over the purr of the engine, but answered her anyway. "We're just going to go for a ride, sweetheart." He knew how to work his look, he would ride with her around the city limits for a while, letting her see the countryside as he saw it, as a biker. He would show her every scenic road he could find in the short time he had with her, and as they were crossing a bridge back into the city at sunset, he stopped at a favorite diner of his to treat her to dinner on top of it all.

He had spent the time at the diner talking with her, finding out more about each other, she had even gotten him to break his scowl and made him laugh a couple of times... which he considered a feat worthy of praise, not that he would just for making him laugh. After dinner he set her on his bike and let her drive back to her place, keeping the handlebars in check, just in case. She seemed like a sweet girl, and one he could see himself going out with again, if she wanted... hell, no point living in the future if you don't enjoy the present. "What do you say we do this again sometime, sweetheart?"

Her veins where pumping with adrenaline. She couldn't remember ever feeling more alive as she did with the wind blowing through her hair on the back of his bike. And much to her surprise the bad boy had turned out to be the perfect gentlemen. Her eyes sparkled each time she heard him laugh must of the times accompanied with her soft laughs.

After dinner when he had driven her home. Standing outside her house on the side walk she slipped the helmet off .. A stray strand of her dark hair falling loose and Christopher reached out and brushed the hair back behind her ear which brought a little blush to her cheeks.
" Sure, I had a great time and I'd love to do it again." she said in reply to his question of seeing him again.

Christopher smiled as she said they would do this again, giving her a curt nod before setting her helmet in his lap. "Until next time then, sweetheart." He kicked the engine back on and started pulling down the street with a roar of the engine and a bright smile on his face. She was a fun girl to hang out with, and 18 was a little younger than what he was used to, but he never really cared about such things.

Her next date would be with William, who at this time was sitting at his desk in his private home, looking over some files for school. He had stopped by the website to see how many money-grubbers would try to catch his attention today, there were always a dozen women looking to sell thier soul to be with a man with money, and William was loaded, rich parents and a rich lifestyle. He paused when he saw the response from Ashley. He pondered the idea for a moment before typing a quick response that he would come and pick her up Friday night, and to wear something formal, he didn't leave much else as a clue for what they would be doing that evening.

Beaming, Ashley ran back into her house and up to her room. Throwing herself across the bed and sighing with contentment when her phone rang.
Picking up the phone she heard the voice of her best friend Becky, "Hay if it isn't little miss popular. Your sure a hard one to get a hold of these days." Becky chimed into the phone.
After a few minutes Ashley had to come up for air after telling Becky all about her last two dates.

"So when's your next big date?" Becky asked.
"Not until Friday night... And he wants me to wear something formal. I don't know if this is such a good idea Becky." Ashley's old reluctance seeming to resurface .
"And why not? Didn't you have fun with the last two guys?"
"W-well yeahhh. But I don't know.. Something formal.." Ashley's voice trailed off. "I've never been to anything formal, and I don't know what to wear."
"Come on.. with that closet full of cloths I know you must have something fancy to wear. I'll tell you what, I'll come over to your house Friday afternoon and help you get ready." Becky offered.

Sure enough as Friday afternoon arrived so did Becky. After several hours of trying on just about every dress in Ashley's closet they finally decided on a dark royal blue crape wrap around dress. Becky helped Ashley pile her hair on top of her head, with soft ringlets framing her face.
Standing in front of the mirror twirling around , "Well what do you think?" she said holding her arms out at her side.
"I think you look great.. and it doesn't really matter now cause i think that was the door." Becky said as she parted the curtains and peeked out. "Oh My god he is hottt! If you don't what him I'll take him." Becky exclaimed as Ashley pushed her friend aside to take a look for herself.

A few minutes later Ashley opened the door and was staring up at William.

William was standing a bit away from the door after he had rang the bell, he was wearing a very well made tuxedo, and a very winning smile. He hadn't missed the curtains move twice, nor did he miss the comment about his looks, which made him smile a bit more. When the door opened, he saw the second pair of eyes that peered at him through the window. "Hello, you must be Ashley, it's a pleasure to meet you." He held out his hand for hers, the assumption of a handshake, but when she would take his, he would kiss the back of her hand. The man was practically a prince, and liked being seen as such.

He stood up straight once more, keeping a gentle hold on her hand. "You look beautiful. Shall we?" He gestured to the limousine that was waiting for them. Either this guy was very well prepared or he was LOADED... the latter of which being true, his parents had left his trust fund a little heavy, and the fact that his parents were already weighed down with cash, a little heavy went a long way.

He escort her down to the limousine, helping her inside before entering himself, smiling warmly at her as he sat beside her in the back of the limo, without a word the driver up front started to pull off, taking the two out on the evening he had planned for them. "You seem a bit nervous... am I coming on too strong?"

Ashley blushed from the top of her head to the tip of her toes when William leaned down and kissed the back of her hand. Behind her she could hear Becky gushing almost as much as Ashley was. That was when both girls noticed the limo parked behind him.

Once she let William escort her into the limo she turned around to him and said.
"You really didn't have to go through so much trouble." she said meaning renting the limo.
Her big chocolate eyes looking up at him, her face framed by gentle ringlets of hair.
"Maybe just a little nervous," she confessed as she wrong her hands in her lap. "Where are you taking me too anyways?"

William smiled at her concern. "No trouble at all, a girl such as yourself deserves such a luxury once in a while." He gave her a once over, noticing her hands. He put one of his own over hers, an attempt to calm her a little. "Relax, we're going to a nice restaurant that I think you would enjoy, Italian. Enjoy each other's company for the evening, and return you to your lovely home." He kept a calm smile on his face, he did find it adorable that she was nervous about being so formal, but William was not a man to go half-way.

The restaurant was easily one of the best restaurants in town, valet parking, personal waiters, the whole nine yards. While there were some people who were still waiting to get inside, William nodded his head at the doorman, and let the two of them in. "I do legal work for the owner, in exchange he lets in front of the line... when he can afford it." He smiled as he led her to thier table, eager to see how the night would play out.

The restaurant was quaint and cozy, Ashley had heard about the restaurant and knew it to be both the best in town and the most expensive.

William and her fallowed the waiter to a romantic little table towards the back. Set back away from the other patrons. There was a stone fireplace in the middle of the room which gave the place a warm ambiance. Each table was lit by candle light, and adorned with fresh cut flowers.

When she took the menu she noticed that it was written in Italian. Not saying anything she was relieved when William had taken the liberty of ordering for the both of them. While waiting for there food William ordered some fine wine that he thought would go well with there food. She felt a little uncomfortable, being only 16 she had never had wine before. But then again .. William did think she was 18 . As the night wore on they finished that bottle and had ordered another.. by the time they left the restaurant she had a nice little glow.

William smiled as they enjoyed dinner together, though he had to admit, Ashley was not handling her liquor as well as he thought she could, he was of heavy Irish decent so he could hold his very well, but perhaps he should of been more ginger with her about it. He smiled at her as they finished their meals in giggles, the young man clearly enjoying himself with her company.

William had made sure to keep an arm around her waist as they left the restaurant, not wanting her to fall over accidentally. The driver pulled around the limo, William, guiding his date inside and following after her with a smile. "Did you enjoy yourself this evening, Ashley?"

"Ahh yes very much so" she said sliding into the limo.
The ride back to her house was much more relaxed then the trip out to the restaurant. But, that could easily have been because of the wine as much as her being relaxed around William. She did notice that the wine seemed to be making her a bit sleepy. Fortunately Ashley didn't live to far away from the restaurant.

Once back at Ashley's house she let William walk her to the door. Still feeling slightly dizzy from the wine at the restaurant.

William smiled at her. "I'm glad, I would feel rather disappointed with myself if you didn't." He chuckled at that as they pulled up at her house, William happily walked her up to her door, but before she could put her key into the lock, he gently cupped her cheek and gave her a soft kiss on her lips, the taste of wine still between them, and the kiss was brief, but there was some kind of spark there.

He pulled away just as slowly as he had approached her, and smiled softly. "I look forward to doing this again, Ashley." He gave her a small wink before heading back to his limo, not failing to notice the shift of the curtains inside, her friend must have been waiting for her.

Tilting her head up, her lips soft and tasting of wine she closed her eyes as her lips met his. She still had her eyes closed when he pulled back.. Her eyes slowly opening .. a soft glazed look, as if she was in a dream caught in her eyes, just for a moment before her eyes cleared and went back to normal.

She slowly licked her lips, almost as if savoring the taste of his lips on hers.
"mmm again" she whispered softly leaning against the door. The she quickly said "Yes again, that would be nice." Now maybe it was the light.. but it seemed like a soft blush came to her checks. Then she turned and disapeard into her house.

She walked up stairs, fallowed by her friend with a barrage of questions. And all she could say was. "we went to a nice dinner and it was very nice, and he implied that we might do it again."
It didn't seem like that was the answers Becky had wanted, but, that's all she would get out of her friend that night.

William went home that night with a smile on his face, he had liked this girl, and he would like to spend more time with her, so he went to bed that night eager for their next meeting.

The only guy left was Johnathan, but it seemed he had deleted his account without telling anyone, and his offer for a date never came, perhaps it was better this way, since the girl was already involved with three guys.

Sunday morning was when things started to get weird, someone stalking around the front of her house in the early morning, leaving a note in Ashley's door. The figure was gone just as soon as it had gotten there, the note written in large black letters. 'If you ever say NO to me I will put you in a world of pain.'

Rolling over she put the pillow on top of her head trying to block out the light coming in through the curtain. With a soft groan she looked over at the clock sitting on her night stand, 'ugg,' 6:30 in the morning on a Sunday was way to early to be waking up she moaned to herself as she rolled over and tried to go back to sleep.

But sleep didn't come back to her that Sunday morning as she finally rolled out of bed. Slipping on her slippers she made her way down stairs. First stopping in the kitchen and grabbing a glass of juice. After a few moments she made her way to the front door to get the Sunday paper. When she bent down to pick it up there was a note underneath the paper.

Later that day when Becky came over she found Ashley sitting at her desk.
"Jeeess whats going on you look like you seen a ghost?"
Without saying anything, Ashley turned around and handed Becky the note she had found that morning under the paper.
Becky's eyes went wide as she read the note, "So what are you going to do?"
"I don't know. I can start by not seeing any of those guys again." Ashley said.
"What? You don't think it's one of them do you? I could be somebody just somebodies sick idea of a joke. Maybe you should bring it to the cops."
"Yeah right, and let everybody know I had to take out a personal add on the internet. And dating three guys, Ohh, and lets not forget that I said i was 18. The police will never take this seriously. "
"I suppose your right.. but what if it's not one of them." Becky added.
"Well I guess I'm just going to have to see if i can figure out who it is."
