They sun always set so beautifully on the village that nest's near the ocean. The sight of the sun at the arc where the water meets the sky was a sight that men died to see. This was a land littered in legendary warriors but this tale is of two, a fated duo that most would say should not have went past a childhood friendship.

-actual story-

"What the hell is your problem boy!" yelled the boys master. the sharp sound of the kendo stick striking flesh echoed throughout the dojo, on his hands and knees sat Take gritting his teeth. he took the punishment for losing against his female friend but his master didn't take to his star pupil losing in all fields he had dominated before. "how dare you disgrace this dojo with your failure, extra training and no rations for you for three nights. He looked over at his friend smiling, he had fun with her and that's all that ever mattered to him. for the three nights of his extra training his friend was taken from her home and forced to learn the art of being a woman which meant forgetting about all her warrior training.

-10 years pass-

"well done Take, you have accomplished you mission yet again flawlessly" spoke an old man sitting at the top of the dojo's steps, his mustache flowed into his beard which reached to the floor. "your payment my son" the man handed him an envelope full of money. Taking the envelope while bowing Take backed away "Thank you master." He said before leaving, entering the village he slipped him money into his pants. looking throughout the village for the one person he had considered worth his time. Finding her with her mother performing a tea ceremony. captivated by her beauty he couldn't help but stare at her, ten minutes past by time he walked out to let them know he was there. "Konichiwa redīsu" he said bowing entering their home "how are you this evening? have you fought in any battles?" he said teasing her knowing she wants to fight but is forbidden to do so.

In her childhood Aiko often teased Take she could beat him in any challenge. It was their way of playing together or so she thought but night after night she stood outside their dojo watching her friend being beaten. It made her heart ache to see him in pain but envied him as well seeing their master prized him the most in which she didn't understand until one day she was taken away from him.

Day after day it was torture seeing the blades being carried by men, tending to their wounds and being hounded by perveted comments. Yet she had to take it with grace. Those nights she'd mediate to calm down before bed. This one day when she was performing a tea ceremony with her mother was one she'd never forget. Upon hearing a rather familiar voice she looked up seeing Take entering her home. "Take..." Aiko smiled as her raven black hair was pulled back with the long hair sticks as she turned to bow to him. With him asking if she fought in any battles recently she looked up at him but her mother spoke quickly.

"Take, you know a woman can not carry a sword. Her duty is to carry her fiance's child." She said sweetly before getting to her feet to leave them to their conversation. Though Aiko got to her feet as the kimono she wore seemed to reveal she hand't gained weight. Oh she loved to get back into her training clothes but she didn't have any.

"Care to walk in the garden?" She seemed to stuggle on her mannerisms for taking the role of a woman. With Aiko walking off to the back where she parted the large doors to reveal the kio pond and the simple walk way her father created with his own hands.

Take bowed to Aiko's mother smiling at her and her choice of words "When will you give me her hand then Mother?" his face held a faint bit of seriousness. he then looked over at Aiko who was standing up and her dress draping her delicate frame, he knew that, that frame was one that could kill and would if given the chance. he fixes his pants around his waist tightening the string so they would not fall.

"always glad to walk in your company." he said smiling following her into the garden, stopping in front of the pond he bent down on the balls of his feet staring into the water. "do you miss fighting?" he said out of the blue when he knew no one was around to judge her words. the looked at her through the reflection in the pond seeing her face seem to glow in the suns brilliant light.

Her mother did notice the question but decided to ignoer it as she watched the pair slip outside. The two looked so cute together but in her heart she didn't want Take to break the work she placed on Aiko after she yanked her from the dojo all those years ago.

Aiko walked with him until they were out of hearing distance but when she heard his question her eyes dropped to the ground. "You will never know how much I miss the challenge, Take." she said with a soft voice as she looked in the water's surface to see he was watching for her expression. The expression she had was filled with sadness as if the lief she had was worth nothing to her. Slowly she turned away from Take knowing he was a busy man since she left the dojo. "You never said why you came, Take...." She said with her walking away from him only to find a soft patch of grass where she sat down with her legs tucked up under her tight rump.

The sight of the sadness in her eyes upset him even caused a deep pain in his chest. He watched as she made her way to the soft grass, she attempted to change the subject but her eyes told more then she wanted to say. "Yes, yes, yes. the whole reason I'm hear." He said jumping up spinning around to face her. His eye's held all seriousness as he said his next sentence "I'm going to kidnap you tonight." He stares at her for a few moments letting his words sink into her brain. "naw Just joking, but I do have a new mission starting tomorrow night and I want to take you away from this, will you can joining me?" He said holding out his hand to her smiling "You might want to start packing now if you wanna be ready by the morrow, don't tell your mom." he said laughing

Watching him walking over to her but what he said next did shock her. Her need to challenge him was strong but she looked away from him. She still didn't look at him until he mentioned on wanting her with him. She looked up at him finally seeing him holding his hand out to her. The years he could have taken her with him but never did. Not accepting his hand as she got to her feet as strands of her dark hair fell in front of her eyes. "I'll go with you willingly but I may not stay with you in the end." she said as she's been searching for ways to get out of this cursed role of a woman and return what she enjoyed doing. The years of being trained as a woman had slowed her reflexes abit but she still tried to improve herself.

...Aiko

He pulled his hand back smiling as she stood up, he knew it was to good of an offer for her to just pass up. placing his hand on his hip blade he leaned on it "willing? like you could stop me if i wanted to take you." he said teasing her as he turned to exit the garden with her. "remember I would always lose to you, those days are past and sad to say so are your skills. you were the only person that pushed me to go beyond the norm. truthfully, I miss those days minus the beatings. Since you left I had no one to pit my strength against and cause of that I've gotten weaker." he placed his head on her shoulder his voice low full of despair "I would have come sooner but until today I didn't travel alone. Forgive me."

With him going on she couldn't stop him only made her narrow her eyes but when he mentioned her skills had diminished. Sadly that was true so she couldn't fight it but she looked away from him until she felt his hand on her shoulder. Turnign to face him to see he was serious on this was the only time he managed to get away long enough to get her. Smiling as she touched his chest. "well prepare to have your skills sharpen and pushed to the limit." She said with a smile but pulled away as she moved heading inside her home. Though she remembered her father's sword and bow was put off to the side years ago when her mother was pregnant. Sadly she lost the child and it was a boy. So that sword and bow was untouched.
