Breaking a habit (Ravonies & Frelance)

[Evo Var]

Alex glanced at his watch as a van pulled into his drive way. He hit the button on the wall and the garage started to open. He left the hall and walked though the kitchen and opened the door to the garage just as the van pulled in and shut its engine off. He pushed another button as he flicked on the lights and the door of the garage closed. He lived in a neighborhood where privacy was big but he still did not want to have his neighbors seeing what was being delivered.

As he walked into down the steps he smoothed out his black button up shirt. "Did she cooperate during the trip?" He had told the two men not to feed her any fruit since he wanted to see how she dealt with the ten hour drive without it. He had told them that they could offer her anything but fruit. "Did she eat anything you offered?" As he walked over to the van the door was opened and he looked in at the girl. He held out his hand wondering if she would recognize him from the times that he had visited her masters house on business. It had been how he found out about her, every time he had been there she had been around and finally when he got the whole story of how she had come to be he had offered to buy her off of the man. She had cost him but with the money he made he knew he would be able to make it back fairly easily.

The man shakes his head, "we offered her everything but fruit sir but she refused, she did however take the milk..... it was the only thing she took"

The girl looks up at her new owner.

"Please give me fruit! I want fruit please....." she begs, "I don't want anything but fruit please I am being good, i haven't touched meet or bread or anything like that i just had some milk..... thats all...."

 

[Evo Var]

Alex sighed and looked at the man. "Okay, I will take her from here." He pulled out a stack of bills and handed it to the men before taking the girls leash and gently pulled on it. Then with a sigh he held out an apple for her. "I am glad you had some milk but we have to talk." He tried to stay calm but he had hoped she would cave just a bit but at the same time he was not surprised since she had been punished for what eating anything other than fruit.

When she took the fruit he ran his fingers through her hair until he brushed the back of one of her ears. "You can eat anything you want but I am going to keep you healthy." He ran his fingers down her cheek then cupped her chin in his hand and made her look at him. "Do you understand? You can not eat only fruit here." His face was hard and his voices stern.

She takes the fruit but before she can eat it she is talked to by him, "But....." she said starting to sob, he could tell bad memories were starting to flow...... "anything but fruit or milk is punishment, I always get punished! and meat is worse off for me!"

 

[Evo Var]

He sighed at her reaction but was not surprised by it. "You will not be punished here for eating other things." He gave her a small smile. "Now eat and we can go inside." He led her into the house as the van left. When he was inside he closed the door and looked at her. "Do you remember me?" He wanted to know how good her memory was.

She looks down and whimpers, "I am sorry, I can't," she said taking a bite from her fruit. She did cheer up.
