Heavy breathing echoed through the crumbling walls of the abandoned building, the once office looking building now retaining only the concrete flooring and broken desks. His footsteps left nearly no stealth as the sound reverberated along the bare walls. Hazel green eyes looked out behind him as he knew they were hot on his heels with hungry intention. From the darkness peered out predatory eyes with a gaze locked upon the male, reflecting the already dwindling light as the afternoon was starting to give away to night. He needed to escape soon, or else he wouldn't be able to find a haven for the night, for there were often worse things than a pack of mutated animals that lurked around each corner.
Achenus was a survivor of the end of the world as he had known it, and due to an exposure to radiation, it tightened his muscle structure, increasing his ability to move, though that didn't make him invulnerable. His head turned away from the creatures in pursuit as he sprinted toward that of the broken window on the floor he had been on, he was lucky about two things, first, that the window had been a full sized one built for an office building, and that it had already been broken already, reducing his chance of landing on shattered glass. The snapping jaws of the mutated wolves narrowly missed the back of his leg when he jumped, having been on the second floor, he had a bit of a fall, and once he hit the ground, he landed wrong on his arm, causing it to bend and stretch the ligaments, sending a sharp pain through it and nearly causing him to pass out. He looked up at the creatures who quickly turned to head toward the stairs in an attempt to get to him.
He took that time to get up and run, to at least get a head start, if not find another building to gain a refuge during the upcoming night, though with a wounded arm, his ability to climb had been reduced quite a bit.
