Lexi wasn't extraordinarily close to her mother, but like any other human being - she loved her mom. Needless to say when she received a phonecall in the middle of class to find out her mother had passed, her mind was reeling and the brunette was rather devastated. She'd fled the classroom and it was sort of blur with different adult faces until she finally got home.
There wasn't a lot of time for her to even process the concept though. She'd just turned eighteen - so the house could legally be owned by the girl. There were a ton of legalities forcing her in to an emotionless state, and she hadn't really absorbed any of the information offered to her during the entire routine.

Of course that wasn't the only prospect leaving her with no time to grieve. She'd also been introduced to her twin - who yes, looked just like Lexi. Although his hair was shorter, it was the same hue of chestnut hair they'd inherited from their father - who was never in the picture. The same olive-green eyes, and similar-toned skin. It wasn't a happy introduction. It was never said directly, but he wasn't thrown in to her life for a good reason. She held her head up though.

People in general always muse over what it'd be like to have a twin, but a small percentage of them have actually met one. Although their anatomy was slightly different gender-wise, they were siblings. Siblings that were supposed to grow up together. Finish each other's sentences and have some sort of super natural mind-reading abilities. It wasn't like that, though. Lexi hadn't seen this boy since birth. Although the face seemed ridiculously familiar, it wasn't, and she was forced to befriend it.

The house was quiet, and the sun was barely rising. The brunette was playing her music softly, her mind avoiding the death she had yet to really let her self accept and focusing on the boy in the room not too far away. "She had to get back to school. The district was pitying her, letting her finish highschool early and nudge her in to adulthood. That was, givens he showed up. She pulled a pair of tight black jeans up her lower half, pushing the button through the hole and zipping them up. She scanned the room for a shirt, not much in the mood to compose a proper outfit, but rather looking to get in to something comfortable in order to push through the day. She found a yellow tank-top which she slid over her torso - that had a simple black bra on it. The air was cold, so she continued her hunt for clothes, pulling open a drawer and locating a black long-sleeved shirt. She slid it on, a little impressed with how an outfit she'd put no effort in to came out. A brush was slid through her hair until the silky brown waves fell in the right way. She pushed them to the side, adjusting the kohl that rimmed her eyes until she was satisfied. Now, she was definitely focused on her... twin. The concept was still hard to adjust to. The brunette tucked a piece of hair behind her ear, shifting her backpack on to her shoulders before she hesitantly padded down the hall in socked feet. She stopped outside his door, waiting a few beats before knocking.

OOC - Felt like stating, there is a chacter inside my characters mind that he sees but no one else does because she isn't real, just an illusion his mind made. It plays into his character.

"Kai, wake up," a soft seductive females voice stated, "you got to get up for school." Kai, his eyes slowly opening, looked acrossed the bed and saw a woman with fair skin, blue eyes, and long blonde hair that went down to the hips, dressed in a loose black nightie. That woman, he named her Alice since she never told him her name, had been around him almost what seemed like forever. She was always around him, growing up with him, ageing to the current adult for she had, almost like she was a dream girl, but Kai didn't see her as that. He slowly got out of the bed, the woman curling up around him and laying on his shoulder; placing her arms around him. He got out of her grasp and shut down his laptop, killing the classical music that played out. He pulled out a pair of blue jeans and a grey long sleeved shirt and pulled them on. The woman was still there. "So," she asked, "hows it feel to be away from those stupid pigs."
"Shut it," Kai told the woman as he walked over to the closet and slipped on his shoes. His voice was monotone and it seemed like he was tired.
"Oh, come on, don't be that way with me. I've been with you since we were kids," the woman stated as she sat on the edge of the bed. Kai walked over to the laptop and slipped it into the bag along with a pair of DJ headphones. He then picked up the pill bottles on his desk and slipped out an anti-depresent, a focusing drug, and some asprin. He popped them into his mouth and swallowed them, hating the taste of them but it helped him keep his mind calm. The woman came around and pulled him down to the bed. She got onto him and came close to his face, a few strands of hair in her face, and a look in her eyes that says she's wanting something. "Come on Kai, give in to me, you know you want too."
Kai was able to push her aside and got his bag. He wanted her gone but didn't know how to make her gone. When he heard knocks on the door, he walked over to the door and saw his sister standing there, almost swearing a mirror was placed in place of the entryway. Seeing her was alien to him still but he was slowly getting use to the fact she was there. "Yeah," he stated in his usual monotone voice, looking like he just woke up and his hair was a mess. The past few weeks had been hell, and both of them knew it, but they both say different forms of hell.

Lexi stepped back when the door was opened. She'd heard him shuffling around, and could've sworn she'd heard his voice being muffled through the walls. She looked her twin over a bit, for the most part just admiring his face and the familiar similarities. "Who were you talking to?" she finally asked, green eyes looking up to meet the other's. She looked past him for a moment, examining the empty room that'd been used as a spare for so long. She looked back at her brother, reaching up to fix a piece of his hair half-mindedly before catching herself. "Sorry." she mumbled crossing her arms over her chest.

"I was just checking to see if you were awake." she finally answered, glancing around the hallway. "We actually have a few minutes to kill. The school has to print out your schedule, and it takes fucking forever in the mornings because it's so swamped with kids." she said, nodding a bit.

Kai heard Lexi and nodded a bit, as he got at the piece of hair she was trying to fix. The girl in black walked around him and around his sister, looking her over. "You know, she's kind of cute," the girl told Kai as she chuckled a bit. "You know, you two look alot alike, wonder if she has the same kind of problems?" Kai would have told the girl to shut up but didn't because his sister was infront of him.
"Talking to no one, just mumbling to myself about what to get for school." He pulled the door behind him and walked past Lexi. "It's okay, what you were doing, dosen't bother me." He walked down the hall into the kitchen, hearing the linoleum crack a bit under his feet. He placed the bag on the counter as he grabbed in and pulled out a couple of frozen burritos and a coke. He figured she would complain about lack of a healthy breakfast but he didn't care.
"You know," Alice told Kai, "I wonder if she is a virgin."
Kai ignored the comment as he turned the microwave on and popped open the coke.
"Wouldn't be surprised, I would be after that body."
Kai just sighed, waiting for the timer to ring.
"Keep ignoring me if you want, but keep it up, and I won't make it easy for you during school today."
He felt the headaches kick in again, a small part of what ALice did to him during the day but he learned to muster on through it. When the timer rang, he pulled the burritos out and placed one on his plate and another on a plate for Lexi. He use to do the same for his, sorry, their, mother because she was always late and sometimes didn't have time to make a breakfast for herself. He missed her alot, but no one had seen him grieve for her. Alice knew however, why he wouldn't publicly grieve. Kai started into his burrito and coke while he mulled his thoughts over many things.

Lexi trailed hesitantly after her sibling, her socked feet padding down the hallway quietly. When they got in to the kitchen, she slid herself up on the countertop, watching him idly and pausing every few moments to look at the clock. She swung her legs a bit, letting them thud against the cupboard beneath her every so often. It had been decided that her identical was a little odd. He didn't talk much, and his breakfast of choice was a bit off - but then again, that could just be a guy thing. Either way she smiled a little, murmuring a small 'thanks' before nibbling on her burrito. She started picking things apart, trying to think of a decent bit of conversation but nothing came to her. The only thing they had in common (and she was aware of) was their parents - and one wasn't around to be seen while the other was dead. She pushed the concept from her mind, forcing words out of her mouth to break the silence.
"Do you have a girlfriend?" the brunette asked suddenly, before biting off a bit of her food to prevent any more sentences from forming. It was a bit sudden and unlike her, but she wasn't completely unsatisfied with her topic. It was casual enough, right?

Kai had been through part of his burrito when he heard the question. "Yeah he has a girlfriend," Alice stated as she looked over Lexi's shoulder. Kai just nodded his head and looked over at Lexi. He had to admit his sister striked a resemblance and also seemed to have alot of their mother in her. He sighed and in his monotone voice, said, "never dated." He looked up at her and continued, "not lack of trying, just, things came up each time."
"Yeah, and if you try anything, I'll give you the worst pain of your life," Alice firmly stated with a devilish grin on her face. "Not until you give in to me."
Kai sighed a bit and walked over to the counter where he put the plate and the empty can. He leaned against the edge of the counter and said, "what about you, ever dated, maybe a crush or something?" Kai had felt crushes before and had tried to ask girls he liked on dates. But, Alice, she seemed to have an agenda on her mind and each time he tried, he felt sick for a week. Alice would curl up with him and whisper in his ear the whole time he tried to feel better. Now, Alice had something in mind again but kai wasn't sure what. "What was dad like," Kai asked as he got out another coke for himself and handed one to Lexi.

Lexi was a little bit surprised to hear her brother hadn't had a girlfriend before. Simply because... well, he was attractive. Not to her, specifically, but the brunette could pick out multiple good features on his face and the fact that he'd been single his whole life was a little odd. "Nobody really 'dates' anymore anyway." she said with a small shrug of a shoulder, popping one more bit of burrito in to her mouth before giving up. Her appetite was lacking lately and she couldn't stomach it.
"I've had a few boyfriends, yeah." she admitted quietly. She picked up their plates, and emptied them in the trash before placing them in the sink. "They were all assholes, though." she added a bit spitefully, before returning to her origional position. She picked up the can he'd gotten out for her, cracking it open and taking a sip.
"Dad fits in to the 'asshole' catagory." she stated flatly. "Extremely selfish, and self-pitying." The brunette leaned back against the counter, staring at her feet for a moment. "I don't think you would've liked him, anyway." she said, with a small nod. Most people didn't like him. Perhaps the men at the bar whom he hung out with, but she couldn't picture the man with many friends.

"A good example of what not to be," Kai stated as he looked out the window. He did that at times, seem to drift away while still being there. Their mother told him all about how their father was a jerk but he wasn't always like that. He had a nice side to him. If that was true, it was in the past now of ever possibly being known.
"Geeze," Alice stated, "you are extra moody today. Maybe I should make sure you don't get those meds again, huh?" Kai knew Alice wouldn't get a chance to stop him, he had a few days built up in his system already so if she stopped him for a day, it would still run through his system. He sighed a bit and then looked back over at Lexi.
"Mom told me that was why she divorced him when we were young, however, she didn't mention you to me for some odd reason. Maybe so i wouldn't go finding you, and in turn, find dad." He walked over to Lexi and sat up on the counter next to her, legs pulled up under him. "Maybe when this whole storm blows over, I can try to find someone to date," Kai stated before he looked over at Lexi again. "Were the men jerks to begin with or did something happen with each one of them?"

Lexi gave a small laugh, nodding. "Perfect example, actually." she agreed quietly, nursing her soda and swinging her legs idly. She watched him with a bit of curiosity as he seemed to drift off, but forced her gaze to detatch because she'd been scoping him for the majority of the morning already. She leaned her head back against the cupboard and closed her eyes as they fell in to a bit of a comfortable silence, only bothering to lift her lids when he mentioned their mother. She avoided his gaze, shrugging one shoulder. Their mother was one thing she didn't specifically want to talk about. "Yeah well..." she sighed, trailing off.
When he changed the subject, she perked up a bit. "You should. Relationships are a nice distraction, if nothing else." She eyed him a bit more when he asked about the past relationships. She tucked a piece of hair behind her ear, looking over the kitchen. "The first guy I fell for was a sweet heart, but there wasn't any real attraction for. The rest were just... dicks. Sex-addicts, pot heads, unfaithful, you know." she nodded a bit to herself.
"Do you drink?" she asked suddenly, raising her gaze to the other's face.

Kai shook his head. "Nope, and it isn't because of age. I tried it once at a party, permission was given to me for a sip so I wasn't stealing it, and I practically spat it out and then some. Left a burn in me for a week." Kai chuckled a bit as he looked over at the other side of the kitchen, looking like he was gazing off again but was watching Alice as she seemed to walk away into the hallway. Kai wasn't sure what Alice would do since in reality, she was only in his mind so she had just really left his field of thought for the moment. "Besides, I doubt I could get a date with me being so," he motioned at himself as a whole, "awkward. Hell, I practically live under a rock. Like, who listens to Gloomy Sunday while trying to sleep besides me?" He looked over at his sister and said, "I can tell something is on your mind. Something you noticed recently, your eyes are giving it away." He had a strange knack for things, telling when something was on people's mind because he watched eye movement, sort of like a lie detector. He could tell when a person was lying or telling the truth and especially when something was on their mind.

Lexi was a little disappointed when she found out her sibling didn't drink. But, it didn't stop the brunette from hopping down off of the counter and stretching her body to reach for a cupboard above her head. She brought out a bottle of their parent's old wine, and popped out the cork. "Guilty habit." she mumbled, shedding her backpack and leaving it on the floor.
"Gloomy Sunday?" she repeated, a grin spreading on her face. "Oh man, that's cryptic." she shut herself up, and picked out her favorite glass to fill with the fermented liquid. His comment piqued her curiosity, and after her glass had been filled with the dark red liquid she turned to face the boy, letting her eyes graze over him for a moment. "There's a lot on my mind, it's no secret." she stated, sipping some of the liquid in the glass. It was strong, but not too much so.
"As far as 'noticing something' goes..." she trailed off, and shrugged one shoulder. "Me and you," she said, signalling to the space between them, "We're not as similar as I thought we'd be." she said finally.

OOC - Sorry for the delay, life caught up to me.

"Cryptic?" Kai asked, "cryptic how?" It didn't seem odd to him that he slept to that song but maybe there was something cryptic about it. Of course, cryptic to him meant hidden and dark. He watched as she poured herself a glass and watched as she gazed over at him. When he heard her comment about a lot being on her mind, he nodded, who didn't have things on their mind? Then she went off about who different they were. "Well, we were raised in two different environments so it doesn't surprise me we are different from one another." He got down off the counter and continued to notice that Alice was MIA which he was enjoying. He walked over to the fridge and got himself another coke before he continued on. "Besides, if we were all the same, then it would be a boring life filled with no differences." He sat back up on a counter and looked at his sister and finished off, "What surprises me is the fact that minus some suttle things and the hair, we look alike." He titled his head to the side when he finished and the can was next to him. Alice however was upset right now. Kai had somehow built part of himself up around his sister and now she was having trouble coming back to his focus. Either the sister or the meds would have to go, Alice would just have to figure out which would be easier to get rid of to keep Kai to herself. And if the connection was continued to be made, Alice would become weaker, just as weak as she was when Kai and Lexi's mother was still around.

ooc ;; no qualms here. i am going to be out of town for a week starting tomorrow, though. sorry. /:

Lexi listened to him, keeping her gaze fixed on the murky liquid in the cup she was holding. She nodded a bit, connecting with bits and pieces of what he was saying. "Physically, yeah, we're pretty similar." That much was obvious after all.
"But I mean when I was informed I had a twin I automatically thought of all those cool stories you here on TV where they can read each other's thoughts and blah-di-blah." she finished with a shrug, and a gulp of her wine. "I don't know." she said, shaking her head as her thought started bubbling out before she could properly process them.

OOC - Okay, have fun

"Life is not like a tv story," Kai stated as he got off of the counter. "Besides, I would not want someone reading my mind, really dark there." He went over to the kitchen sink and got himself a glass of water, finishing it down fast. "So, what's todays agenda or are we going to be winging it?" He looked over at Lexi and noted she had finished her drink. "How can you drink that?"

Lexi shrugged a shoulder at her sibling's response, staring at the empty glass she had placed on the counter in front of her. "Everybody's mind is dark, so I'm sure it's nothing exceptional." she said casually, pausing to stop and look at the clock before tuning in to the words that were coming out of his mouth. "We were supposed to go to school. I was going to take you in with me and I'm sure they'd give us matching schedules and all that shit but..." she trailed off, shaking her head. "I don't know. I only have a week or so to finish up and I don't really see the point of it." She opened the cupboard again, pouring herself another glass of wine. She turned to look at him when he mentioned her beverage of choice. "I don't know, eventually you acquire a taste for it. It's like beer. Nobody really likes it at first." she took a sip, before extending the glass towards him. "Try it."

Kai shook his head and said, "thanks for the offer but no drinks for me while on these meds. Bad combos and stuff." He leaned against the fridge and said, "so, a week left and you don't feel like its worth it, then what do you want to do?" Kai tilted his head to the side and said, "the day is young and we can do a lot of things." Alice had popped back up and with a wicked smile to boot.
