Lexi wasn't extraordinarily close to her mother, but like any other human being - she loved her mom. Needless to say when she received a phonecall in the middle of class to find out her mother had passed, her mind was reeling and the brunette was rather devastated. She'd fled the classroom and it was sort of blur with different adult faces until she finally got home.
There wasn't a lot of time for her to even process the concept though. She'd just turned eighteen - so the house could legally be owned by the girl. There were a ton of legalities forcing her in to an emotionless state, and she hadn't really absorbed any of the information offered to her during the entire routine.
Of course that wasn't the only prospect leaving her with no time to grieve. She'd also been introduced to her twin - who yes, looked just like Lexi. Although his hair was shorter, it was the same hue of chestnut hair they'd inherited from their father - who was never in the picture. The same olive-green eyes, and similar-toned skin. It wasn't a happy introduction. It was never said directly, but he wasn't thrown in to her life for a good reason. She held her head up though.
People in general always muse over what it'd be like to have a twin, but a small percentage of them have actually met one. Although their anatomy was slightly different gender-wise, they were siblings. Siblings that were supposed to grow up together. Finish each other's sentences and have some sort of super natural mind-reading abilities. It wasn't like that, though. Lexi hadn't seen this boy since birth. Although the face seemed ridiculously familiar, it wasn't, and she was forced to befriend it.
The house was quiet, and the sun was barely rising. The brunette was playing her music softly, her mind avoiding the death she had yet to really let her self accept and focusing on the boy in the room not too far away. "She had to get back to school. The district was pitying her, letting her finish highschool early and nudge her in to adulthood. That was, givens he showed up. She pulled a pair of tight black jeans up her lower half, pushing the button through the hole and zipping them up. She scanned the room for a shirt, not much in the mood to compose a proper outfit, but rather looking to get in to something comfortable in order to push through the day. She found a yellow tank-top which she slid over her torso - that had a simple black bra on it. The air was cold, so she continued her hunt for clothes, pulling open a drawer and locating a black long-sleeved shirt. She slid it on, a little impressed with how an outfit she'd put no effort in to came out. A brush was slid through her hair until the silky brown waves fell in the right way. She pushed them to the side, adjusting the kohl that rimmed her eyes until she was satisfied. Now, she was definitely focused on her... twin. The concept was still hard to adjust to. The brunette tucked a piece of hair behind her ear, shifting her backpack on to her shoulders before she hesitantly padded down the hall in socked feet. She stopped outside his door, waiting a few beats before knocking.
