Katie Collins sighed softly in frustration as she pulled up in front of an older house. Her eyes flickered to the paper stuck to the dash then up to the dark numbers stuck the side of the place so she could check the address. Tonight was suppose to be the perfect night. It was the night pretty much every girl with a life dreamed of. Prom. For weeks prior, she had planned every single aspect of it. That included the dress, the shoes, the hair, the accessories, and even the date. Then every fucking thing fell apart. She caught her boyfriend making out with her best friend in one of the school's bathroom the day before. It was devastating to her. It almost felt like her heart had been ripped from her chest, stomped on, shredded, diced, and topped with dog shit. Okay, so not the best mental image.
She had decided to go alone after all. It was better than nothing. So then halfway to the actual Prom, she had received a call from her mother telling her to go babysit some kid. Katie pulled over on the side of the road to discuss this craziness. One thing led to another and she was screaming at her mother over the phone. There was a snowball's chance in hell that she was going to ditch Prom for some stupid fucking kid. In the end, her mother pretty much said that if she didn't do this for her then she would not only be grounded until graduation, but she would lose her cell, tv, laptop, and anything else she enjoyed in life.
So guess where she was now?
Katie was currently sitting in front of the kid's house still in her Prom outfit. Her dress was a light blue halter dress that tied around her neck and went down to her knees. There was a white silk ribbon around her waist that tied in the back. To match, she was wearing white heels that were actually stylish and comfortable. Her favorite accessory though were her gloves. They were very elegant, and, in her opinion, tied the whole thing together. The gloves themselves were made up of a very soft white silk. The gloves were elbow length per her request. Her blonde hair was pinned up in a bun with a few strands free to frame her face. It was almost a 'Cinderella' type look, but her modern.
Getting out of the car, she grabbed her extra change of clothes from the passenger seat and headed up to the house. There was an odd smile on her face as she reached the door. Not to mention a rather large blush. Yes, she was furious at the situation, but it wasn't the kid's fault technically. It was his parents. Also, she was embarrassed that she hadn't had a chance to switch into normal clothing. Katie took a deep breath and knocked on the door politely.
