It was a bright and sunny afternoon. Sesshoumaru's group was just outside Kaede's village when Sesshoumaru had stopped. In front of him was the village where Kaede lived, but more importantly was his half brother Inuyasha. Inuyasha's group had spent the night waiting for Kagome to get back from her time. Rin ran off and hugged Kagome saying "Hi Kagome." in her happy go lucky tone as always which made Inuyasha mad that his brother was around. Rina and Sesshoumaru had been greeted by Kaede who was asking why they were here. Sesshoumaru had told her Rin simply wanted to visit so here they were. Rina walked over to Inuyasha and handed him two shards saying "Here you can have these if you promise not to fight with Sesshy while we are here." Inuyasha laughed "What 'Sesshy'! So you got a pet name now." Rina started to tear up and said "Shut up, I almost died cause of those damn shards in your hand and Sesshoumaru saved me ok. I slipped and said a nick name, so kill me." Sesshoumaru was now behind her and staring at Inuyasha "Touch her little brother and you will die. I will not have Rin upset cause of you." It was the first time Sesshoumaru showed concern for a human. Rina looked at him and said "Its ok I'm fine." Kagome came over and said "Rina how you been. Is your side still giving you pain, even after a year?" Rina sighed touching the wound just under her right breast "Yeah, its the only thing that lets me know I'm alive and not dreaming this. I really missed my sister." Kagome smiled "I would feel the same way if I had to go through that to find Sota, so don't worry about it. Tell you what, lets go bath just us and Rin. As the girls left Inuyasha sat down staring at the shards "Why is it such a big deal, I chance death all the time and you don't see me complaining."

Sesshoumaru watches Rina went off with Kagome, and says, "It is a big deal because she doesn;t do that every day, and I can assure you, she is braver than you will ever be, and stronger, at least mentally. You have no idea how tough that was on her, and how long it took for her to start to recover, I am not going to let you go and ruin the success and progress that she has made, do you understand, I want you to spend as little time around her and say as little as you can around her, she has done and worked too long, hard, and much to have it torn down."
 
Inuyasha stared at his brother and said "Why would I go near someone you act so weird about. To tell you the truth Sesshoumaru, your sounding like you like the girl." he then smirked and said a bit snobby "But wait that's wrong since you would sooner kill a human then have feelings for one."
 
I say, "True, but who is to say that I can't at least enjoy her companionship, and admire her strength, determination, and ability to fend for herself?" I smile and say, "Besides, how would I know what love is, since I don;t feel emotions? I just don;t want to let what she has done and the progress she has made to be erased, it wouldn't be fair for her and it would be a horrible and evil thing to do, punishing her like that, when there is nothing to be punished for. I am going to repeat myself, do not touch her, ever. If I see you or hear that you have touched her, or tried to do anything at all to her, I will hurt, and very likely, kill you, do you understand?"
 
Inuyasha glares at him and says "Why would I touch her when I don't like her. Besides If I went near her I would have to deal with that brat of a sister she has. Sorry bro but I hate kids. I'm suprised you've put up with those girls for a whole year. I bet you truly hate them being around, especially with Jaken causing Rin to cry and Rina to strain her self to the point of pain." he then smirked "Bet its funny watching her suffer from that wound even now when she tries to hide the pain from you and that brat Rin." Rina, Kagome, and Rin had been walking back and stopped dead when they heard Inuyasha speak. Rin had burst into tears. Kagome screamed "INUYASHA! SIT BOY!" She turned to calm Rin just as Rina took off towards the well. Just a few feet from the well she felt teh pain from her side and grabbed where it hurt. Once there she had barely stopped when she fell and hit her head on the corner of the well knocking her out.
 
I glare at him, saying, "I will deal with you later." as I see Rina fall unconscious, and run as fast as I could over to her, and try to wake her up and see if anything was hurt, holding her in my arms. Kagome is right behind me, and gets some cool water and soaks a rag in it, placing the cool, damp rag over Rina's brow, to try and reduce the swelling
 
Kagome sighs and says "It looks like she fell pretty hard Sesshoumaru. Jeez, Inuyasha needs to learn to watch what he says when she is here." Rin was still at the village with Kaede. Kagome looked at where Rina's hand was resting and noticed a red spot under her hand and without thinking said "Shit. Its reopened after a whole year, it explains the pain."
 
I ask, "Need me to do anything? If you want, I will take her back to her house, and put her in her bed, and stay with her until a healer can be found." I offer, worried about Rina's health, and curse, seeing that Inuyasha's words had led to an action, which had reopened her wound and say, "We need to put pressure on that until we can get bandages." as I brush back Rina's hair, and say, very, very quietly in her ear, "You're going to be ok, Rina, just stick with me."
 
Kagome pulls a small roll of bandages out of her pocket and says "This will hold til we get back to Kaede. But Sesshoumaru you have to know something, She asked me for advice on love and how to approach a demon she is holding feelings back from. Keep in mind she told me the demon has come after her many times." talking about him always watching over Rina Kagome tried to make it sound like another demon is trying to steal her from Sesshoumaru.
 
"What demon?" I ask, not realizing that she was talking about me, "and what about love? Why would she hide it and hold it back from anyone?" I help Kagome to bandage the wound, and then gently pick Rina up in my arms and start off for Kaede.
 
We get to her house, and I lay her in her bed gently, and sit next to her bed, watching her carefully and almost protectively, it would seem, and when she mumbles my name, I say, "yes?" hoping she was regaining consciousness.
 
I slowly open my eyes after a few minutes and looked at him "I-I'm really sorry for causing you so much trouble." *winces* "I can take Rin and leave so you don't have to worry anymore. But before I do I want to ask you something."
 
I look at her, and say, "You haven;t caused me any trouble, Rina. You and your sister are like family, if I were human. What do you want to ask me, though?"
 
I sit up not caring about the strain on my wound and ask "Is it possible for a human to love a demon who cares of nothing at all?" trying to hint its you as bluntly as i can.
 
I look at her, and say, "I can't really say, but I do know this, if I were able to feel emotions and register them as a human does, I think it would, besides, someone can love another, even if the other doesn;t love them back. Why do you ask, Inuyasha and I are the only demons you know, do you like me or him?"
 
Without warning I just lean in and kiss you on the lips as an answer to tell you 'I love you' Just as I kiss you Inuyasha steps into the door way and sees it saying nothing as he quietly leaves to tell Kagome what he just saw.
 
I am surprised, and find that I like her lips against mine, and I pull her close, kissing her back. When Inuyasha stepped in, I didn;t even see him, and I feel something that I had never felt before.
 
Breaking the kiss and blushing I start to worry "I'm sorry for doing that just now. I do love you Sesshy, its just..." I take a deep breath and say "I heard Inuyasha mumbling a second ago and think he may have seen that." Outside the hut Inuyasha is arguing with Kagome. "Look I'm telling you somethings going on. I know him and he would never let a human kiss him like that." "Inuyasha you need to learn that even your brother is capable of love." "You crazy Kagome, don't forget he tried killing you." Kagome glared at him "So did the first time we met, if I recall it wasn't until you got Tetsaiga that you quit trying to kill me."
 
I look at her and say, I think I love you too, Rina. I am feeling something, which I have never felt before, and I like it. I smile and hug you. and say, "so what if he did?"
 
I turn my head towards the door in worry "It means he is going to bug you more then ever and I hate seeing you two fight. T-to be honest with you..sometimes I wish you and Inuyasha could get along and act as real brothers who don't kill each other."
 
I hug her again and ask< "But if I love you, and if you love me, then why would what he says matter, unless he insults or threatens you or Kagome?"
 
"That's just it. He hides his true feelings for her like you hide yours. I mean, he hides his emotions with anger and fighting. While you hide yours by showing absolutely no emotions, if you where to start acting as a lover then he would pick a fight to talk about it instead of just sitting and asking why."
