Darla yawned as she finished the last of the inventory paperwork for the night. She stretched her back out with a groan, her impressive bust waging war against the buttons on her khaki safari shirt. She didn't care for the thing but it was Zoo policy that everyone be in uniform to add to the whole image. She dealt with it, after all she would make that sacrifice if it meant getting to take care of all the great animals they had on display. The Zoo she worked was the most complete, and most impressive establishment of it's kind in her country. No where else did such a wide variety of creatures exist in one place.
"All right. Time to make the rounds." She stood up, filed the papers away, grabbed her flashlight and left the little shack that served as each shift-keepers office. The night air was cool against her bare legs. At some point the Zoo had decided to try and widen their appeal by hiring mostly young, attractive women and making khaki, pleated skirts part of the uniform. She had to wear legwarmers for the better part of the year to keep from getting sick. Once again, she dealt with it though.
"First stop...Primate den. Let's see how the Silverbacks are doing!" She really did love animals, so this job was perfect for her. Despite the inconveniences, every time she did the rounds and saw the darling creatures on display, she forgot everything and was happy. Her long pink hair bounced about her in the moonlight, it was supposed to be in a ponytail but she always let it down after everyone else left. It was too uncomfortable.
