It was about five minutes after the tardy bell had rang, and still there was no sign of their teacher. Some of the students had become a bit rowdy, anxious to get something happening, but were silenced as the teacher from another English entered the room. He looked upon the students with his stern eyes that demanded great respect. "To your assigned seats." his voice demanded and was not one to be challenged. He was a very feared teacher and many rumors ventured around the school about him, so of course he was well respected and revered. He cleared his throat as he began to speak once more. "Class! Mr. Heinz will not be in for sometime. He is perfectly alright, but had to leave town due to a family emergency. You will have a sub for the duration of that time and I expect everyone here to show this person the same respect that you all show me. I will be checking in from time-to-time so don't think you can get away with murder in here, got it?!" some of the students jumped as there was an agreement to be heard.
A gentle, and light hearted laugh echoed into the classroom as the sounds of heels could be heard across the hard floor. A beautiful woman walked into the room, standing 5'5" with her two inch heels, and only 5'3" without them. She was clutching a few books in one arm close to her plump breasts, while holding a bag in the other at her side. She placed the bag down and brushed her free hand across her skirt. She was a brunette with blond highlights, wearing thin-framed glasses that fitted her face quite nicely. She was twenty-seven but she appeared to be in early twenties as opposed to being in her late twenties. "I am sure they will behave just fine. I do know how to discipline my students, Mr. Rush." she smiled warmly at the man while giving him a wink.
Mr. Rush stared at the woman for a moment before grinning back to her and giving her nod. "If you need, Mrs. Klein..."
"It's Ms., not Mrs." she spoke, almost sternly but still with softness.
Mr. Rush cleared his throat as he was corrected and gave a polite nod of apology. "I will be across the hall." with that, he gave the students once last stern good look before leaving the classroom. The substitute sighed as she closed the door behind him and went to the chalk board. Taking a piece of chalk, she wrote out her name, 'Jessica Klein'. She soon turned around and ruffled through the papers upon the desk and pulled about the attendance sheet. She skimmed through and paused as she noticed a name that was familiar. Glancing up, she smiled warmly at seeing her nephew in the class, sitting right in front of the desk. Her smile was warm and friendly.
"Hello class. I'm Ms. Jessica Klein, but please feel free to call me Jessica. I will subbing for Mr. Heinz for the duration of his absence. Now, I am going to go through the attendance and if I get your name wrong, I do apologize. Feel to correct me and let me know on any nicknames you wish to be called." With that, she began to through the roll call. Once she was finished with marking down the attendance she went and sat behind the desk. "Now, seeing as there is some paperwork and tests left over me to grade, I am going to allow to use this as free period. I would, however, like for everyone to write down rough draft essay. This essay will about yourself and consist of anything you participate in, where you grew up, if you have any siblings, and so forth. This is a way for me to get to know. Also, include a funny moment in your life. I will be writing as well."
