Lilian, Lily for short, was one of the few remaining of her kind. Now while most mermaids were the evil, pull men into the sea and drag them down to their death, type of creatures, Lily was not. She had never hurt a soul and had only killed other fish for food. Mermaids were hunted for their blood after humans found out it had powers to extend life. Those seeking the fountain of youth just settled for killing the mermaids. Now, instead of living in large groups, mermaids were forced to be on their own, and if they were lucky, they'd find another mermaid/man to mate with in hope of bringing the population back up. But even that was dangerous because for a mermaid to mate, they had to go on land and dry out. Once dry their fin would transform to legs. Most mermaids only dreamed of the day they would find someone to mate with. Lily was not so lucky. She hadn't seen another mermaid in about ten years since her mother was taken and father told her she needed to go. So Lily just swam, keeping near reefs and jagged rocks where fisherman and their nets would get caught instead of catching her.

So far, it had work out pretty well. That was until one day when she had been trying to save one of her fishy friends and while he got away, she got tangled in the net. She tried hard to get out but only found herself further tangled up in the net. She was scared to death of humans, having heard some horrid things about how mean they were and how they would slit your throat just to add another 20 years to their miserable lives. She thrashed about, trying her hardest to get out but it was no use. She was stuck. Now all she could do was wait to be pulled in and hope that the stories were wrong.

It was just another Day For Dea he had been working for days on his new home. he left a net out in the reefs. Like his father and his fathers father Dea was a fisher man and had the most up respect for the sea. But Sadly To say Dea lost his father To her. for some silly tail about mermaids and there Blood. Dea was not into the old tails and lived well. Dea made his home next to the sea and had what was like a small river like cage in his home that had water going in and out with the movement of the sea this was to keep his catch fresh and ready to sell on his market days.

IT had been about six days since Dea had placed The next one the reefs and was about to forget about them intel he had no food or money left after paying the the lands taxes as he left his home he made way to his fishing grounds. As he made his way he say his net and went over to start the days work as he pulled it felt like a lot of fish was on his net and he liked it as he worked all day fish after fish was coming up as he came to the end f his net he pulled hard and fell back only to see a human in it as he yelled but stop and saw it was not human but a mermaid. Dea was unable to say anything his father tails was no mad talk but real and here she was.

Dea was not sure it seem like she was hurt so he took her and his days catch home as he placed her in his tank and waited to see if she was oaky. Not sure what to do.

Considering it had been about three days since Lily had been in the net she was was exhausted and famished. It was hard for her to sleep in fear the the owner of the net might come back at any moment and no fish would get near her now that they could see the trap of the net so she was starving. She was also emotionally drained. the idea of being caught just scared her to death.

When the net started being pulled in Lily was too tired to try and fight. When the man yelled she screamed and blacked out. When she awoke about an hour or two later she looked around frantically, trying to figure out where she was. It was obvious she wasn't in the ocean anymore, though the water tasted like the ocean. She swam up to the surface, looking around, still very confused. She was only sure of one thing and that was she was not in the ocean anymore. There was no way. She was in some sort of pin, was what she decided. "H-hello?" She called out weakly, afraid that there was actually going to be an answer. She didn't know what was worse, being trapped or not knowing what was going to happen to her next.

Hello There. " Dea said as he came over and placed a plate of food down for her. " I'm Glad you are not hurt as I was thinking" he said as he took a seat his legs in the Sea pen. It was a pen made to have the ocean flow in and out it had a steel cage door as open holes to let small fish and other things to go out and lager things to stay in. As he was looking at her he spoke to her " Are you feeling okay? My name is Dea. You got caught in my nets." he told her with a sigh. Dea had not slept in days since she came here. not knowing is she was dead or hurt to bad but it seem like she was okay and he was happy for it.

The meal he had made was a light fish and had some other things that was hot and yet cold " Well eat up. you need it if you want to go home,." he told her. No Dea was not going to keep his his blue eyes looking at her. she had her breast out in the open and that made him blush a bit as he tune his head and looked into the tank and asked her " whats your name?" he asked her. It seem like the tails his father told him was true but Dea was not going to take her blood no he was feeling something and not sure what it was.

Lily jerked backwards as he spoke and came closer. It was exactly as she feared, a human. And from what she could tell, a male. From the stories those were meaner than the females of this kind. She was very confused as to why he was worried about her, but then again if he sold her, he would get much more money if she was ok than if she was hurt. She was very confused as he kept talking and even told her his name. "I-I'm fine. Y-you're not going to... k-kill me are you, Dea?" She asked nervously, sinking down a bit so only her eyes were out of the water. She looked him over and she had to admit, despite her fear of him, he was quite attractive.

The plate of food he sat down smelled really good and she was so hungry but she still didn't know if he was trustworthy. her eyes widened as he said she needed energy to get home. "You mean you're going to let me to go?!" A huge grin spread across her face, and she suddenly lunged forward wrapping her arms around his neck, hugging him tightly. "Thank you!" She exclaimed, all of her fear suddenly leaving. She sunk back down into the water after a moment, still smiling at him. "I'm Lilian." She replied to his question. She was overjoyed she wasn't going to be killed or have her blood harvested. Maybe the stories her father told her were wrong afterall.

Yep. I mean why should I take your blood.? This world is going to die but not soon and I want to get out and not stay young " he said laughing at it and when he felt her jump on him he blush now he was all wet and laughed as he pointed to the food for her " then eat up. " he said as he looked at her and smiled. " But there's something I need from you. There was a ship called the lunar whale. it was my fathers and it went down about a few days from here. can you go and get the lot from there for me., he sent me letters about it and how it was going to help us and I need to find away but unable to intel i found well you got hung up in my net. " he said with a little laugh.

It's up to you if you want but it will be nice if you can help." he told her before getting up and walking over to dry off him self thinking and hopping that she will help him. there was about 20 boxes and he wanted to get them all but unsure how to and then he was able to get them now but she had to say yes. if not then they will be under the sea for ever.

Lily smiled as he said he didn't want her blood. So he was an exception to the stories. She was thankful that he found her and not one of the men from the stories then. She nodded as he told her to eat and moved over to the plate, starting to pick at the food on the dish. It was unlike anything she had ever tasted before. She was used to raw fish and this definitely wasn't raw. She smiled as he spoke, hearing about the ship and it's contents that he wanted to retrieve. She thought for a moment before nodding. "Sure, I'd love to help. Plus if I'm with you then I can be sure that none of the evil ones of your kind will get me." She said, smiling happily.

She thought it was the least she could do. After he didn't kill her and he got her out of that net. She finished eating, leaving some of the stuff on the plate that she didn't think tasted good. She liked most of it though. After a moment she hoisted herself up on the edge of the pin, just sitting there with her elbows locked and looking around the pin. "So you live here alone?" She asked, just trying to make simple conversation until he took her out of this pin and showed her where to go to get to his father's ship.

Dea smiled and walked over to a rope and pulled on it was the steel door open up. " under there water there's a door leading out to the ocean. you can see my home from out side this is where I just keep fish for me to sell when the time was right." he told her as he was walking out." See you out side" he told her. He didn't want to tell her that he had been alone since the age of 12 and that his mother left him. it was a sad past but now he lived for the now and walked out side. it was a home on the beach and was able to with stand any kind of storm and big waves it was on a white sandy beach.


The ocean that lead to his home was close and he was waiting for her to come out. Dea took off what he had on and placed on a pair of cut away pants that came up to his knees and waited for her in a boat and waited for her as he was getting ready. everything was moving fast but Dea wanted to show her the way before a storm came his home can with stand it but not him a boat.

Lily nodded as he explained how to get out. And as soon as she could, she ducked under the wall and was soon back out into the ocean. She smiled, looking around and quickly swam around, feeling much better after eating something. She smiled, surfacing and looking around for Dea. After spotting him she swam over to him she noticed he was changing pants. Considering she didn't know what clothing was, she just swam over, grabbing onto the edge of the boat. She looked over at his house, smiling a bit. "You have a lovely home." She said, looking back over to him.

She looked around. Noticing it was getting kind of dark out because of clouds. "Are you sure you'd like to go right now, it's going to storm pretty hard." She said. She didn't mind waiting a day or two until the storm passed. she wouldn't want this human out in a boat when a storm coming down. He could drown and she didn't want that. He was the first human she had met that didn't want to kill her.

Dea looked around at the sky and then to her" Well what Do you think I should do? " he asked her finally looking at the sky for one last time for seeing a few black clouds. and sighed. Well i guess i'll wait" he said as he looked at her then tiring the boat down." Well if you want to come in my home then you can do two things. grow feet :" laughs a bit" or follower the water path that goes into my home from the way you came in." He said looking at the clouds as they got closer and started to lightly rain.

Dea didn't wait for her to say anything other then headed in and open all the steel doors that lead to his main living area and his room the sound of water always made Dea feel better as he closed windows and lock them down as he worked on a fire in the fire pit, it was going to be a long storm.

Lily just shrugged as he asked her what he should do. "It's up to you." She said, just smiling. She didn't know if he wanted to risk his life when he could just wait a few days and it'd be so much easier. She smirked a bit as he said she could grow legs. Little did he know she could if he gave her some time. She just nodded and in a few moment she was under water, swimming back the way she came, back into the pin where he put her to begin with. Though this time she didn't stay in the water. She pushed her self out, sitting on the edge and but left her tail in the water.

She smiled, watching him build a fire. "So... You don't live with anyone?" She asked, wondering if anyone else was going to show up. She just kept smiling though, not sure if he would answer this time or not. Either way she was just trying to make conversation. it'd be kind of awkward to be there for a day or two and it be completely silent.

Nope. mother Died a yea ago father dead a long time ago and no one lives here but me and the sea. " He said as he poked at the fire. IT always got a small chill here so i fire pit was good for this home and he smiled his back to her not know what she was doing. as he was cocking something the filled the room up with goodness and he smiled and tune the tune away again forgetting she was still half naked. IT was late and then it started to rain.

Dea sighed as he head the rain start and sat down cooking as he was thinking about things and when the storm passing he was going to get what was he's buy the rights and he had help.

Lily frowned a bit when he said his mother had died some time ago. hers had too so she knew how he felt. She sighed as he walked off and started to do something in the other room. She just sat there for a moment before she pulled her tail out of the water, letting it start to dry. As her scales dried, it slowly transformed into skin, her fin separating into legs she smiled a bit. She hadn't done that in quite some time, not since she was really little and her mother showed her how to do it.

She slowly stood up, following him to the room where he went. "So that's how you make that fish taste like that?" She asked, looking over his shoulder. She didn't even notice she was completely nude, having no concept of what clothing was to begin with. She just smiled at him, wobbling a bit because she was still a bit unsteady on her legs.

She looked down at herself and then at him as he walked off. She just stood there until he came back with a piece of cloth in his hands. She looked it over for a moment before looking back to him. "I... I don't know how to do this." She said wrapping it around her torso sideways.

She stood over his shoulder the whole time as he cooked and watched him, completely fascinated by the while process. She watched as he went and sat down and patted the spot next to him. She walked over to him, still a bit uneasy on her legs. She ended up sitting down besides him. She looked over at him, smiling happily. She was so naive about so much.

I see. I did not know. " Dea said his face tuning red as he looked at her. " Well to us humans females are to were dresses all the time. only to make love or to show off to a loved one can they be naked." he told her and laughed at then way she put the dress on and then helped her fixed it as he smiled and went " so a mermaid has to mate on land? way not in the sea?" he asked her as he started to eat. the table was facing to the window so anyone sitting there can look out to sea and be rested. Dea want to know more about her and they ways as he smiled and ate.

Lily smiled a bit bigger as he blushed. She poked his cheek gently, watching it change color for a moment. "Why? Are they ashamed of how they were made?" She asked, honestly confused by this. She just assumed it was common sense. "Well, When I have a fin, I don't have this other hole." She said, winking after she finished. She finished and looked at him for a moment then out the window across the table, looking out at the sea. "So have you always been a fisherman?" She asked, looking back to him.

Lily nodded at his explanation of love making. She did know what love was, but furthering the population usually was more important. At least to mermaids. She smiled as he said fishing was his way of life. At least he liked it. That was good, to do what you loved. She smiled shrugging as he asked where she was going to sleep. "Well, I could just go back to the ocean for the night." She said, looking at the pin she was in earlier. "I've never slept on land before." She said, looking around the rest of his house. Her smile grew as he said she could stay here. But it turned to a bit of a frown when he asked if she was with anyone. "No, there aren't that many mermaids left. Humans hunted the most of us down for our blood and because we're known to drag men down to their death." she said, a bit saddened by that part of their history. "I haven't seen another mermaid since my father left and my mother died." She said looking back out the window.

DEa was shook. he had ask something that made her sad so he took her into a hug and rubbed her back" I am sorry to ask that." he said as he held her. only to make it easy on her. " I'm sure it will be okay one day. but for now you can stay here if you want. My Bed is very big" he said laughing to lighting things up a bit. as he smiled and let her go. it was still raining but it was now dark and the lighting was the only thing lighting the sky up other then the fire in Dea's home." Thats if you want to. I'm sure you want to sleep in the waters I'm not to sure about your kind.

Lily slowly smiled as he suddenly hugged her. She knew what a hug was and it felt quite nice to receive. She hadn't had and physical contact in over 10 years. She soon hugged him back, smiling happily once more. She nodded at his words. Though as he mentioned a bed she looked at him, confused once more. "What's a bed?" She asked, looking out the window as he went silent for a moment, looking back when he spoke. She smiled and shrugged. "I think I'd like to try sleeping in a bed." she said, smiling at him. She would like to try a lot of Human things. They were all so different than what she was used to.

Dea smiled and got up. " Come this way" he said leading her to his room it was on the 2nd floor and he helped her up to it. since he can see she's not used to her legs and only use them to mate as he led her to a room that glowed blue and there was a bed there so big that it can fit about ten humans as he walked over and smiled come and lay down. "he said as he got undress and lay down as he looked at her and told her to do the smae thing. the bed was made from the softest things he can find and it will put anyone to sleep. It was his bed and he loved it as he looked at her waiting for her to take the dress off and lay with him.

Lily smiled as he told her to follow and she did, holding onto him as he helped her up the stairs. She smiled when they got to his room, looking around. It was so pretty with all the blue everywhere. She smiled as he stripped down and crawled onto the bed. She smiled and did the same pulling off the dress awkwardly and letting it fall to the floor before crawling into his bed with it. As she sat down on it she smiled, looking over to him. "Dea, It's so soft!" She said. She laid down, thinking about how big it was. Someone could almost get lost in a thing this big. "Are all beds like this?" She asked, rolling over on her side and looking at him. So far being caught in that net was one of the best things to happen to her in a long time.

You've been nothing but nice to me from the start." She said, looking into his eyes. She giggled a bit as he said she was soft. She scooted a little closer to him. "I like you. I'm glad I got caught in your net." She said, grinning at him.
