Julia walked to the window and pulled open the drapes. The sun shone in brightly lighting up the room. She had slept till mid morning, again. Looking out over her fathers small kingdom a small sighed came to her lips, another day stuck here behind these walls. She hated it feeling like her father kept her caged in.. she could hardly leave the palace without having an escort of her fathers guards. She really thought her father was over reacting, and that's why she started sneaking out.
At 13 being cooped up in the castle day after day was just to much even for a princess. She wanted to be like the other kids that she would see out her window. Every day right after lunch, when she knew nobody was around she would pull her long waist length red hair back and tie it back into two braids. Then she would take off her long frilly princess gown and exchange it for one that any typical 13 yr old village girl would wear. Because she was always kept safely behind the palace walls not many of the villagers knew what she looked like. So once out of the castle she seemed just like any normal young girl, free to mingle and hang with the other kids about her own age. Being sheltered and relatively naive it isn't hard to imagine her falling in with the wrong crowd, mostly street kids that offered her a kind of excitement with all the things she was never allowed to do as the princess.
