Spring was in the air at the Kingdom of Larania as the wind was giving off a gentle breeze and the skies were totally blue without a cloud in the sky. Leaves seemed to be flying in the distance as inside the Castle of the Ancients, Melina was starting to put the finishing touches for the long trip ahead. Today was the day that she would be the most trusted servant of not only the Princess of Larania, but also the Prince of Balthezor who the princess was to meet in two moons time.
Suitcases were packed and loaded onto the carriage as the guards had let the Princess in first and then Melina, who sat next to the Princess that she had totally adored. She could not allow herself to share the secret that she had hidden inside of herself... that she was truly in love with the Princess, body and soul but being the servant and the commoner that she was, her kind of love was strictly forbidden. Letting out a loud sigh as she had sat down in the carriage, she had no idea of what was about to happen later down on the trail.
The trail had led into the forests... the Forbidden Forest to be precise. There were stories and legends that were told throughout Larania of shadow like women that seemed to dwell inside of the Forbidden Forest, inside of the tall trees that seemed to shade the entire ground like a redwood forest, but with much thicker leaves. Melina was hoping that the Princess would not have been lead into the Forbidden Forest but the Princess had insisted that time was of the essence. It would seem that time would be lasting forever for the Princess... but possibly inside of a different realm.
Just outside of the carriage, Melina started to shake as she had heard a loud scream of a guard that was being pulled off of the seat. Several more horrifying screams had ensued as Melina instinctively started to move downwards towards the floor. "Help me, Godde..." Melina was never able to finish her words as the door to the carriage had open and the horrifying scream of death was heard by the Princess, followed by a swift blunt of something solid on her head, knocking her unconscious on the floor.
"This is the one. The one that our leader wants. Take her." One of the guards had said as they had taken Melina onto the horse of the scout leader and led her back into the encampment. Several minutes later, the scout leader had found her way into the small area of cages and let out a command. "Put her inside and shackle her... and alert the Leader when she awakens." The Scout Leader had ordered as the small squad of scout had proceeded to do just that.
Melina was not sure how long she had been out or what was happening to her but as soon as she had awakened, she could feel that something very horrible was happening to her. "Oh goddess... Where am I?" She had asked as she was just about to move her arm towards her head but she had found that it was shackled onto a metal chain leading to a metal bar of the cage. Once she had looked back and forth, starting to realize what was going on, Melina started to panic, struggling against her restraints while knowing the the worst was happening. "Someone, please... help me!" She had said nearly three or four times in a hopeful shout. When those pleas were not answered, Melina now was giving up, knowing that there was nothing left for her to feel. "Oh no. I am doomed. No more use to live anymore." She had whispered to herself as she had sobbed and sobbed, looking up and hoping for one small bit of hope to escape from this very horrifying situation... somehow, some way.
