Wouldn't you like to know?
Thalia set in the living room of her step fathers house, amber eyes glancing out the window as she tried to focus on anything but the laughter that came from the kitchen just a few rooms away. The source? Her mother, Freya Wright a whore in just about every way imaginable, at least in Thalia's eyes, her twin sister Athena, who was getting married in a few short weeks to some bastard stupid enough to actually see something good in her, and then her younger sisters who were also twins, Diana and Artemis. And last but not least in the massive kitchen was the man she probably despised the most out of the entire group, her stepfather Julian Wright. Each in the kitchen laughing and giggling over who knows what, not bothering to try and include the female any part of the conversation, which made sense actually. They weren't really fond of her to begin with. Never had been and probably never will be. The thing was though, she really didn't give a damn. The only reason she was here right now was to meet the idiot who was getting married. She wanted to see if he looked as stupid as she thought he would, that or insane.

So instead of trying to join in the girl would sit in the living room, mind wondering off to a night she had about two weeks ago. She had met this amazing man. He was kind, he was funny, he had seemed to actually like her. Which was good because she liked him just as much. Some how during the night the two ended up sleeping with one another and instead of it being a casual one night stand he took her to breakfast and lunch and they spent the day together. It really had been amazing. The two exchanged numbers and communicated through text or email daily, last she heard he was going to meet with some family for the week. "Well...hopefully he gets along with his family better then I get along with mine." Because just about anyone that knew her, or her family for that matter, knew that her relationship was them was less than...well, civil.

She would be brought out of her thoughts at the sound of the door bell ringing. She would stand up, the short blood red sundress she wore this morning twisting a bit around her body, long blonde strands of hair moving a little around her back. "Ah, that must be the man of the hour." She would walk over to the door, opening it up with the best smile she could muster that wasn't something cold or cynical. "Hey welcome to - Oh my God..." It was him. Him. The man she had met earlier in the month. What the hell was he doing here?

Zack was thinking about his night with that special girl that he met a while ago. He felt bad for not only could they not get serious, but the reason mostly was because he was getting married and the alcohol got to him into sleeping with that girl. Of course, they both were at fault as they both drank with no reason.

Of course, he didn't tell her the mistake he made because she would think less than him.....so he planned on not going 'far' with her and hope that they could aleast have a 'decent' relationship in friendship. Boring as it may be, he didn't want to cause trouble and have his future wife find out. He played with his curly hair as he looked at the road. He found himself soon at the address he was suppose to be.

The house was nice but he knew how his girlfriend's family was. "Ok, this will be alright..." he thought as he looked in the minor. His green eyes lookked over to find nothing wrong in his appearance. He sighed as he got out of the car and knocked on the door.

"Hi...........?" He said as he smiled at first but stopped as he saw Thalia. "What are you doing here??" he asked confused. OF course, he didn't know what the situation was.

She was still just a little amazed at the sight before her, taken back momentary, unable to answer his question for a minute or so. "Me? This is my step dads house. What in the world are you doing here?" There were only but so many answers to that question and there was only one of them that she was really afraid of. Unfortunately, that one was probably the one that was going on right now. He wasn't an delivery guy as they had ordered nothing, the paper had already came today, and last she checked grown men didn't go door to door selling things, which only left one real conclusion, which made her boil on the inside.

Fuck, fuck, fuck! Had she really slept with her sisters fiancée? Seriously? Out of all the guys she could meet and sleep with he had to be the one she had the most amazing time with? Shit. Letting out a sigh she would shake her head, placing a finger to her lips momentarily telling him to keep this voice down. Well...they couldn't walk in there acting like they knew one another, that could lead to quite a few questions she didn't want to answer, and he probably wouldn't want to either.

"I'm Thalia, pleased to meet you. Everyone else is in the kitchen I'll go ahead and bring them out here. Make yourself comfortable." She would signal him to come into the house and sit, shutting the door behind him once he was in. As she turned she would remove her cell phone from her pocket sending him a quick text as she walked into the kitchen to get her family, 'Why did you tell me you were getting married! You didn't think that was something important to share before you let me hop into bed with you?' Pressing the send button she would shove the device in one of the pockets on her dress. Walking into the kitchen the conversation would instantly stop as if on cue, all eyes on her. "Zack is here." And with that everyone would quickly walk pasts her to meet the male.

He became very angry as she didn't let him talk in chance. He was shocked from what he heard from her about her dad's place and knew where this was heading respectfully.

He quickly texted back as he came inside and made quick work by stating "we were DRUNK, WHY do you think that I never DID IT AGAIN with you after a month???!" he texted angrily at her as she was trying to turn all of this on him.

'It's been two weeks! And generally one night stands are just that, one night. I wasn't really expecting anything out of it after that.' Like she said, one night stand. She had only had one once before, but still, same result. They talked for awhile, they were good friends now, but didn't have sex again after that as it just would have been well...weird. Friends didn't sleep with friends. She expected the same thing from this, or well, him.

The girl would brush a strand of hair behind her ear, watching as her family settled into the living room, her step father and sister moving to seat Zack down on a near by couch. "Come on, take a seat Thalia." Julian looked at his step daughter, smiling. It was a fake smile, but he was trying to put on a show. Thalia would roll her eyes, taking a seat on the couch in between her twin sisters.

"So tell us," Julian started, looking at Zack, "How did you meet Athena?"

Things were very uncomfortable for him and Thalia. He causally lead the conversation to more about the wedding. Of course, this only brought more bad thoughts to him and Thalia.

After all of that 'pointless' stuff was because her family never paid attention. He sighed in peace as he was left alone with Thalia and Athena who was close against him.

"I know honey...i think they like me..." he said smiling at Athena whiel Thalia was also next to him.

"Which is good, we need them to like you. It would kinda suck if they didn't." Athena would smile, giving him a kiss on the cheek and resting her head against his shoulder. She had kinda expected this to go well as Zack had nothing about him that her family could, or would, disapprove of. As far as she knew anyway. Of course there were a few things she didn't know, the most important being between the man she was laying on and her sister. But what she didn't know couldn't hurt her...well, much. Perhaps put a small damper on her marriage but that was highly unlikely.

"I'll be right back ok?" With that Athena stood up, patting his shoulder as she disappeared into the living room.

Thalia bit down on her bottom lip as she laid back on the couch, one leg crossing over the other. "Well, I'm glad that they like you. Doesn't matter all that much to me, but eh." She shrugged, resting her hands on top of her stomah, closing her eyes.

"Ok honey" he said as he smiled when his girl friend left.

"Yea....I suppose so." he agreed looking at her but he frowned. "Listen; what happened between us..." he said as he pointed at her and then himself, "...it was a one night stand with a drunk pair right? It didn't mean anything and it be nice if we pretended it never happened..." he said straight to the point.

"Ah, you said that magic word." The girl would sit up, something of a joyous glint in her eye. "You will come to learn in the next few days that I'm not well liked around here. Hell, I'll go as far as to say hated and that wouldn't be much of a stretch. While there are a variety of reasons for this said hatred it all boils down to basic one reason; I don't pretend. It's the same as lying and I don't really do that either." She would lean back against the arm of the couch, a hand reaching up to brush a strand of hair behind her ear. "So, while I won't go around here gloating about the fact that I slept with you I'm not going to pretend it didn't happen either. Because it did. So deal with it and move on." It wasn't as if she was trying to be a bitch or anything, but she was simply being realistic about the situation. Which loosely could translate into the same thing depending on who was asked.

"Well over all I would say thank you" he said smiling a bit but he stopped after thinking about what she just said. "I know that your family isn't 'perfect'-" he choose his words with care. "But surely it's not that bad is it?" he asked her.

Thank you? For what? She would arch a brow a bit, deciding to get back to that later as she answered his other question. A very fun question actually. "No one has a perfect family, and hell, that's not what I'm looking for. I'm just looking for one that could at least be..." Normal wasn't the word, because she didn't expect that from a family, or polite, because she could care less about that but..."Well, I wish I had a family that could face their demons and not pretend, own up to them at least. Not pretend as if things didn't happen...And I mean, everyone lies and everyone tries to hide things, but when you've seriously..." She bit her lip a bit, shaking her head. "Doesn't matter. If they could stop walking around here like they are perfect and take the skeletons out of their own individual closets then I'd be happy. But unfortunately that's not an option for them."
