The sweet sound of an instrumental melody played in the background, as a graceful figure sat with their pale and slender hands flowing across a piano. Red hair cascaded down a bare back, and violet hued eyes closed slowly as Lacey's body swayed to the music her fingers created. Plush red lips parted to sing,"You lie, silent there before me...Your tears, they mean nothing to me. The wind, howling at the window. The love you never gave, I give to you. You really don't deserve it." Lacey's voice was beautiful and filled with a passionate edge that could bring anyone to tears if she so willed it. A man entered the elaborate room in which the vampire sat, his eyes wary, scared to interrupt her playing. She continued her lyrics," Here's a lullaby to close your eyes, Goodbye. It was always you that I despised. I don't feel enough for you to cry, oh no. Here's a lullaby to close your eyes, Goodbye," her eyes remained closed as the man walked closer to her and cleared his throat.

"Madam Trevino..." his words were slow, careful. "It seems that...He has been creating trouble again..." Lacey's hands suddenly slammed down atop the keys, making a harsh discord of notes. "I can come back..." hurried the man with a high pitched voice. Lacey stood from the piano bench and swiftly turned on the man before her.

"Leave!" cried Lacey, her eyes narrowed into slits as she glared at the human servant standing in her living room. The man quickly fled from her sight and she crossed the room behind him. Her hands were clenched into fists as she opened the door to her manor and slipped from its walls. She lived on an estate on the outskirts of New York City, she called for a car and it quickly pulled around to pick her up. She was still fuming as she slipped into the backseat, ordering the driver to take her to the 'Nightmare', and exclusive club for only the most VIP creatures in the city. She needed to blow off steam, it seemed her only rival for the Top Chair of vampires was once again trying to get himself to the top. She growled loudly in the back seat as she tried to think of what she could do to him. "Foolish man, trying to do a woman's job!"

Lacey Trevino, was one of the strongest vampires in New York City, her only rival a man of equal age and riches with whom she'd yet to come in contact with. He was a mystery to her, and though she knew she'd not be able to beat him with their power at the same level, she wanted to rip him to shreds. She smoothed her hands down her strong legs, the skin covered in black fishnets that ended at her upper thigh, where red bows were placed decoratively. Her feet were adorned in expensive black heels, and her body itself was graced with a black dress. It was fitted to her body, showing her graceful curves, and ended right about her thigh, an inch from where her fishnets stopped. The neckline was low, exposing a bit of breast as well as a ruby red pendent she wore about her neck. The sleeves were just as tight fitting as the dress itself, and there was a small flourish of lace around her wrists. It only took about twenty minutes for her to get back into the city, and the car pulled up to the club.

Lacey stepped out and instantly was admitted within the confines of the booming night club, the dark music seeping into her skin as she slipped onto a couch in a dark corner. A male waiter, one whom she'd take plenty of love bites from, approached her with a cup of red wine. Lacey grinned and took the drink with a small wink,"Thank you, dearest..." she motioned for him to leave her sight and then she settled back into the black velvet couch, her mind thinking of the strange rival vampire. What did he look like? And where did he lurk? Her tongue flicked out and grazed across one of her fangs as she pondered the man. "Little Bird, Little Bird...Where are you?" she purred, eyes looming over the club before her.

To be the most powerful vampire in a city full of creatures more then human. New York City was one of the hubs for supernatural creatures and to be the top vampire in that city would grant more power then any mortal could ever dream of. Already Vincent Kale was quite powerful, to have only a single rival in the city with no superiors meant that he was only one step away from controlling the entire city and that one step was removing his rival. However to move openly against her in any personal way would cause trouble for him, the rulers of other cities would surly take offense to such a thing.

So instead he had played is carefully, instead of striking out at her he went after those who were connected to her, trying to cause trouble for her through harassment in the hopes that she would soon be willing to make a move against him, giving him an excuse to strike back and eliminate her, taking the position all for himself. So far though he hadn't seen the results that he had been hoping for, and though he considered himself an excellent strategist he was also running out of patience, perhaps it was time to take a slightly more direct approach to his antagonizing.

A spy in her organization called him up and informed him where she would be going that night, a face to face meeting did seem the best way to get under her skin and get her to make the first move. Dressing quickly, going with the stereotypical black leather because he knew that was what he looked best in.

Now he was outside the club, walking in as though he owned the place. A smirk was upon his face and mischief sparkling in his eyes as he looked about for his rival, he had never seen her with his own eyes but he had heard her described enough to have a good idea what she really looked like. The place was hardly packed the night, perhaps people had gotten a feeling that something was going to go down that night and they were hardly wrong. It didn't take long for him to pick her out though, the only red head in Nightmare. The smirk growing even larger then before he approached where she lounged, pushing a waiter aside as he did so and sitting down in a chair across from her. “Hello Lacey.” He said with a chuckle, choosing to use her familiar name rather then any polite title. “Its nice to finally meet you.”

Lacey was enjoying her time alone, deep in her thoughts of painful executions of the mystery rival, but then her mood went sour. The sound of her name attached to a greeting made her snap back to reality and instantly glare at the figure who spoke to her. It was a man, dressed in black leather, her frown deepened. "To finally meet me?" she questioned,"I'd love to know...who the hell you are-" She stopped as her sensed rushed over the male before her. His power was emanating from his body, flowing around her as if it was dancing, taunting her. Instantly Lacey stood to her feet and had the urge to throw her glass of wine at the male. "Why are you here?" she questioned, eyes wary of the powerful vampire in front of her. How had he found her? Did she have a snitch amongst her ranks?

Her own power seemed to tingle across her skin as she stood in close proximity with him, like lightening bolts flying around her. She stepped forward so she was just a few feet from him,"Who told you I was here?" she demanded, her eyes now still and filled with a passionate anger. Lacey wanted to rip the mans face off, and drink every ounce of blood in his body. She could only imagine how powerful she'd be if she drank his blood, how easy it would be to take over the city. A smirk slid across her lips at the mere thought. A few people nearby were watching them, and she saw her own right-hand man standing across the room with his eyes wide. So he knew this was her rival? How was she the only one that didn't have a clue as to who he was until that moment. And how did he know her?

"I'm really not in the mood for you tonight, so why don't you go home..." she mused, her eyes lit with amusement for a second before she stepped away from him and slipped back in her chair. Her violet eyes never stopped watching him. He was a threat, and she was no going to take him lightly, if they were to fight in the club, many people would die, and she wasn't sure which of them would be the winner at the end. Lacey lifted her wine glass to her lips and took a sip, her eyes glaring at him over the rounded crystal. After a moment she lifted her glass in the air and a waiter quickly returned to refill it.

She crossed her legs and rested her elbow on the side of the couch, with her head leisurely relaxing in the palm of her hand.

Vincent wasn't entirely sure who the spy in his rivals organization was, he had been approached anonymously months back by someone through a phone call and had never met face to face, but slowly this person had earned his trust and proved their reliability by giving him a great deal of knowledge about what Lacey was up to and more then once had been a great benefit to his organization. Now that he had been informed about where she would be and was now standing in front of her this informant was his favorite person in the world. As he stood there he didn't even try to suppress his power, just letting it flow from him like a powerful river in order to make it clear off the bat who it was there. More then a few people in the area appeared to be feeling a little bit weak when he let it all loose, unable to handle the power he was giving out.

“Don't know who it was who told me, don't care either... hardly matters because we are both here right now, the two most powerful vampires in this entire city full of rather powerful monsters.” God she was beautiful, and powerful, she had to be his literal equal in terms of strength. It was oh so tempting then and there just to grab her and hold her down as his fangs found a vein and drained her of her blood and her strength. He was confident that if a fight were to break out between them he would be the one who was the victor, it wasn't any sort of extra knowledge that told him this, just a great amount of self confidence and an almost masochistic approach to fighting, throwing himself head on every time.

“Why should I leave, I only just got here.” He said as he took a seat and grabbed a bottle of wine from a passing waiter, silencing the young man before he could complain with a glance that said he wasn't to be trifled with at that moment. A twist of his wrist removed the cork and soon the bottle was being poured down his throat. After a few moments his thirst had been addressed and a quarter of the bottle emptied. Glancing down to the bottle Vincent made a note of the name and year of the wine, he was more of a hard liquor fan but this wine was something he would acquire for a later date... it was quite delicious.

“Just because we are rivals doesn't mean we can't be personable.” He teased her. “I know it is hard for me to be surrounded by such weak people all day long, speaking with an equal would be nice on occasion.”

Lacey frowned as she watched the man's movements. "Why should you leave? Cause a beautiful lady asked you to..." she muttered as she rolled her eyes. The vampiress sipped slowly on her wine as she listened to him talk. So she had a traitor amongst her, and the man before her, had no idea who it was? This irritated her greatly, her irritation grew even more as the vampire in front of her released his power. It hit her like a brick, mixing even more with her own stream of sparking power. "I don't like being personable.." she grumbled as she set her wine down on a table beside the couch.

"You irritate me." she stated rather bluntly, her head moving from her relaxed position against her hand, to sit straight with her hands crossed before her chest. "Nonetheless- What would you like to talk about...." she said lazily as she watched him. Her guard would be up at all moments, she didn't know what the man's little plan was. "I don't like idle chit chat either..." she noted with a raise of her brow,"So I suggest our conversation be interesting...Or I'll be the one leaving..."

Lacey wasn't being nice at all. She didn't like being in the presence of her rival, even if he was rather alluring and handsome. She almost felt the urge to let him bite her, just feel his fangs slice through her skin, feel his touch. A deep frown formed on her face, anger at being attracted to her foe. Her hand lifted from her chest to brush her hair behind her ear, her violet hued eyes never straying from her companion.

"You could have called me..." she said with a laugh. "If the traitor gave you my location..I'm sure he or she would have no problem giving you my phone number..." she shrugged her shoulders. "But instead you came all the way out here to talk to me in person...how wonderful..." She was being sarcastic of course.
