After the house was burnt to the ground Drake stood onto a stump. He was now higher than the crowd that were panicking at the monster sighting as he yells" people the monster is destroyed at the sacrifice of our royal family! We should leave this land to a land where there will be no more monsters. A land lead by the hunter of the last monster. Me!" The villagers cheered as the house behind him burnt with the monster the queen and the king still inside. Little did he know that with ever bad deed there is a little speck of hope that will soon grow and over come all evil.

The ash from the fire tickled Aislin's nose but her body was still grip by fear so strong that she couldn't move. She didn't know if the beast was gone if the fire was still closeing in on her, and she was too frightened to look. Broken floor boards poked her sides and stomach while the parts of the cieling had pinned her. She could feel the small tickle of blood running down her face but again wouldn't move.

Aislin inhaled sharply in surprise only to go into a coughing fit. She heard cheering. A mass cheering. Her mind to frantic to grasp what that could mean other then the beast was gone. With limps like jelly she clawed her way out of the shealter she'd been under. Her grown was torn and she could see the faint remains of the flames. With a shaky hand she wiped her face before standing up. Her eyes were wide and fearful. "Mother?..." Aislin choked out, with a voice hoarse from the ash and barely audible. Coughing again she stepped over the ruin remains of her home. Numb to the people who were so close but so far she tripped and scrambled over the remains till she found the corpse of her mother. Bloody and charred beyond recognition Aislin couldn't stand the sight. With a soundless cry she turned away trying to now run from the truth. She stopped only with she tripped and fell at the edge of her ruined home. Thoughts of what had to be done filled her mind but for just a moment she wished to greave. She cried just outside her home on the what should have been the cold ground, but the fires heat had warmed the earth. Even the grass was burned, she was truly all that remained of this noble home.

The people cheered louder as two villagers came to Aislin's aid. Holding her high on their shoulders they then announce" the princess is alive. She is alive!" The roaring crowd burst into a chaotic chant as they praised the princess. Drake had finally ran to the princess as he pretends to be concerned. He asks her" are you alright?" As he looks her deep in her eyes.

Aislin was still numb to the world around her till hands hoisted her into the air. Eye widened with surprise and confusion, while still red with her tears. Her brown eyes searched the crowd with mixed emotions. Her people were gathering to her and their strength began to clear her mind. Though her cheeks were tear stained and her eyes red a smile graced her face.

"Thank you all of you." Her soft voice whispered. She was greatfull to all of them. Their concerned did lift her heart even if it was only a little. Yet she was their princess and had to stay strong for them. "I am... I will be in time." Aislin smiled to the man who approached her. "Please what is your name?" Aislin asked her small smile still trying to stay on her face.

"Drake." HE stated as the crowd gathered around them joyouse that their lives were saved but the children were in deed crying. The children cried for the king and queen as the others really did not care less about their lives than their own. The kingdom at this point had seemed harsh in its own making.

Aislin nodded in acknowledgement of Drake's name. She was unsure if it was a name her mother and father knew, but it was now here job to know the people, to lead them. Aislin's pale ash, and dirt covered toes curled in against the cold air reminding her that she was hardly in the attire that a princess should be seen in. The torn tattered and ash stained night dress now barely fell beyond her knees. She felt mildly exposed and being up so high was starting to make her uncomfortable.

"Please would you set me down." Aislin smiled to the people holding her up. With her feet once again on the ground her legs shook. Though she was still weak from the horror that had befallen her she forced herself to stay up right. With thin fingers she tucked an auburn lock behind her ear and out of her face. She had to know address what they would do. She would need a counsil, have to concider the possibility of the beast coming back, but for now she had to sooth the fears of her people. "My people, listen to me now." Aislin called out her poor voice straining to reach the needed volume. "Tonight we faced a horrific lost, but their is still hope. We will be safe while we are together." Aislin smiled a well practiced courtisan smile. One that could hide all her sorrow. "Tell me what is that state of the town?" She asked Drake and the men closest to her. "Are there armorments? Was anything in town attacked by this monster?" Aislin asked needing to know the conditions of the area before making a decision on what should be done.

Drake was truthfully disgusted at her speach as he turned to the people and said " the monsters took our homes and brick by brick they destroyed it. They took some of our weman and one after another they destroyed them. Today is the time to rebuild. Make the walls higher brick by brick and wood by wood. Share a woman here or there and make healthy children and raise them well for the princesses rule but until she is legal to rule . I will lead this city to it's renewal!" HE then rose up his fist as the people cheered along with him. Some men went to the armory what was left of it and grabbed armor and a few weapons. They then traveled to the Forrest to begin rebuilding.
