He really didn't want to go. He seriously was against killing small animals, but his friends, in a way, forced him to go. On the jeep ride into the Savannah, Nathan was annoyed of having to hold a rifle in hand the whole way through. His friends took shots at animals as they drove by and Nathan shook his head. "Senseless killing isn't the best thing you know."

Eventually they found their little hunting grounds and began to hunt, whereas Nathan just sat back at the make-shift campfire area, sitting on a rock, unaware that his life was soon going to change.

The wolfess had been wandering around in the morning looking for something good to hunt. She was hungry and needed to catch something soon. As a young wolf she had brought back her first kill for the babies and elderly and now it was her turn to eat. Her nose followed the scent of a immature buck through the woods until she caught the smell of a fire. Concerned, she lowered her ears and body as she worked her way closer to the smell. Once she was a few feet away from the campfire, she crawled until she could see the source. Growling a little, she saw the single male sitting by the fire and huffed. Her eyes locked with his for a few moments, watching him curiously. Humans, what annoying creatures, she thought as she turned to walk away.

She heard a loud click behind her and froze in place. "Damn...look at that one! It'll make a great mount." The gun was pointed at her and she couldn't move, terrified knowing one shot could kill her.

Looking over, Nathan saw a wolf but wasn't frightened by the creature. He just watched it, intrigued that he's see wildlife like this up close but as it turned to start walking away, Nathan sighed and looked back down at the fire until he heard his friend. Jumping up, he saw his friend aiming for the wolf. Nathan didn't know why, he began to make a mad dash for the gun. "No!" He cried out as he tackled his friend. "Don't shoot!" He said as he kicked the gun away from his friend. "Run!" He called for the wolf. "Dammit you said we were hunting deer and rabbit, don't hunt the more domestic creatures!"

The wolfess watched as the man jumped up and tackled the one aiming the deadly weapon at her. As the gun was shoved away and she was told to run, she gave a small sigh of relief as she was freed in a way. She gave a brief nod to the man who had protected her, grateful that he was kind enough to see her live, before she ran off as quick as her feet would take her.

"Man, you're crazy. That wolf would've made an awesome trophy. Besides, it's probably rabid considering it got so close. That's not normal." the boy replied, shoving Nathan away with a huff. "Whatever dude, we're going to hike down a bit following some tracks, you going to stay here at camp?"

"I'm staying here. If I have to see you guys shoot another animal I'm gonna be pissed." He said as he turned to walk to his tent. "And thats THAT." He said before laying down. He wasn't always like this...it just became him when his friends forced him to come hunt. Laying in his bed, he grumbled as he opened a snack bag and listen to some radio before closing his eyes to sleep...Though he couldn't help but wonder...did that wolf just nod at him? He shrugged the feeling off before slowly falling fast asleep.

The fire burning and crackling was obviously for miles around, the acidic smell and flickering light easy to notice even without her wolf senses. The white wolf had wandered away but her curiousity for the one male who had saved her kept her within a couple miles. Her wolf body could carry her quickly anyways, she could run if needed. As the night dropped she had gone in search for a meal and caught a small rabbit to fill her belly. Unfortunately, she wasn't the only one looking for a meal it seems. She smelled the bear and at first worried it would come after her miniscule rabbit.

Instead, she was disturbed to find the bear going towards the campsite. Abandoning her meal, she ran towards the bruin with a growl in her throat. When she approached the bear, she growled loudly, her hackles raised and teeth bared to the she-bear. Her body was low to the ground as she crawled forward, the bear raising on two feet and snarling back. Without a snarling bark the wolf launched herself on the bear, biting the bear's neck and tearing at it viciously.
